THANKYOU! Kahty, I needed to hear that! My emotions are on a 10 right now! I hope it goes down before the surgery! Jennifer, I think I'm stuck with the cruise date. We are going with other people. But someone suggested looking into buying insurance for medical on the cruise. I'm going to look into it tomorrow.

Well the dinner stunk! We went to Carrabas, I wanted the bread! The salad was good, but the pork chops were crummy! The funny thing is I really didn't care! OH my I guess I'm really ready! Now I'm sitting with my laptop on my lap, my daughter brought me reeses Peanut Butter cups as my last candy...(till later in the year) I went to open them and they are all melted and gross! I must confess, I was more disappointed about that than my meal. So maybe this is the begining of food not really meaning much anymore. Have a good night.

AH Tonight is my "last supper" before I start my liquid pre-op diet. I can't believe that I am actually excited about it!! Thinkin of Outback and a blumin onion.....

Thanks Kim, I wonder if there is a seminar this week at the hospital we could go to and then talk to DrZ and the other 2 Dr.s I really want to meet DrZ. I liked the PA VERY much that I saw the day I went to meet DrV. He made me feel very comfotable. I am in a hard place with insurane DrB doesn't take my type. And CMC is not covered either. I hope everyone will still be in the support group with us. You know God has lead me to do this from the beginnig. I know it is in hands hands. But like you I still want answers. As far as the cruise goes, I'm going to check and see if we can't change the date for a few weeks later. Either way with that I know I will be surrounded by prayer. Thanks so much everyone, for being there!

Kim, I can't wait to see Dr V, but I'd like to meet Dr.Z to ask him questions. As far as slippage, doesn't that happen in the very begining? I know I will be a whimp with eating for a long time. I hate the thought of the side effects. Thanks for the support, everyone, Kim your a big help thanks for talking yesterday. I am scared, couldn't sleep much last night. I just really want to know that someone will be there for us if we ever need replacement, or slippage. AHHHH I guess it is time to change my date below huh...

All I know about Dr.V is that he is leaving the practice the end of October. That is all they told me. Dr Z will be doing followups. My concern is the fills and complications. Dr.V is the only one there that does the lapband. It is pretty scary to have the surgery and them the experienced doctor leave. That is where my concerns. But then I know that so many people go to MX and other places. Have any of you heard anything?

Oh I hate this! I hate to be the one to tell you guys! But I need your advice. My surgery date is moved to the 26th of September. That is almost 3 weeks before my cruise. Do you think I'll be ok?

To make a long story short. I had a date for my surgery then it was moved to November. So my husband and I book a cruise. Well I got a phone call today from my Dr.s office. He is leaving the practice the end of October. (Hate having some of you find out this way) The only date they can give me is Sept 26th. The cruise is on the 14 of Oct. Am I nuts? Will I be feeling well enough to go on the cruise. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. This is the only Dr. in Charlotte that does the band. I'm scared and nervous. I booked it for the 26th. I just wanted to know what you all thought about how I will be feeling almost 3 weeks out going on a cruise. Thanks,

LOL no one gets MY OLD DATE....lol but we could all do it on the 9th of November! lol have a good weekend guys, I'm off to DC to meet up with some old friends, I'm getting excited!

what a great idea!! November 9th! There is one surgery before me, then mine (10:30)why not you after mine! Then he could grab a sandwich and run over to CMC for Starr! Congrats on your date! I know it is so exciting! Maybe you'll excite me again. I've been down in the dumbs thinking about how far away it is. It's like it's never gonna get here! But I know it will. Did you get a verbal ok or a written ok? I recieved mine before they got it so I faxed it to there office. The front fax! After they get the letter they put on on Dr V's desk, he has to sign off on it then it goes to Bobbi. Bobbi then has to coordinate with the surgical staff. Then you get the date. It took about 2 weeks for my date. I bet your stomach is driving you nuts right now with the anxiety of that date. Once you get it you'll feel so much better! Can't wait to hear. Hey has anyone heard from Starr?

Hi Gang, I've learned to go with the flow, hang in there Melissa you'll be sooner than you think. All is good. I'm ok with it. We booked a 9 day cruise in mid October to help the days go by! I've never heard of Timothy Kirwada, where is he from?

Hi, Welcome, I have my date for November 9th. My original date was for Sept 19th but Dr.V had an emergency and now I'm moved to November. Oh well it's all for the best. From day one when I was thinking of doing this I thought November would be a perfect time for me. Then I got the Sept date and was ready for that. There really is no rush for this. Preparing your self mentally and physically before hand can only help you more in the long run. This is all a process. It is also a grieving process. So take it slow. If you need a counselor, I have a great one in the Weddington area. She has had WLS and truly understands the fears and excitements of this whole process. As for me and this process, the most important I can tell you that has helped me through this process is giving it to God. He knows the right time for you. TRY, to let things go and trust him for the money, dates and procedure if you can. I have, every once in a while I take control again, and thats when the fears and doubts enter my mind. Good luck, I hope you make it to our next get together on the 19th and then on the 24th. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like more info on my counselor.
