  1. Zippit . . . a PB is a productive burp - and basically you throw up what you just ate. Its a very weird sensation before hand - and while I haven't done it, I sure came close the other day. I had cottage cheese and applesause for breakfast today . . .and again I had to stop after the first bite for a few minutes. Someone said something about first bit syndrome . . . I guess that is what I have going. I don't have time for tea in the morning before I eat - throws my entire schedule off lol. I could wait until I get to work to eat, but then I'm starving. I leave the house at 6:30 . . . but I'm going to have to work something out. The same day I had trouble with the morning omelette, I was able to eat Wendy's chili later in the day with no problem. Just have to work with this morning thing I guess. Have a good day everyone!
  2. I love the "little plastic food" reference to your NUT . . . really made me laugh! Hang in there!
  3. Sharpei and jljeje . . . go to the "members area" on the top right . . . there is an area there to "edit picture" and "edit signature". To get the ticker, go to Tickerfactory.com and set up whatever design you like . . . but ignore the directions to copy the html link. Copy the actual picture and paste it into your signature. Hope that helps. Chris
  4. Thanks . . . I wasn't having trouble with eggs before the fill . . . but there was lots of melted cheese in the bites I took . . . maybe I need to SLOW DOWN and smaller bites It was just very interesting to say the least. I just ate my Starkist lunch kit with no problems . . . so I'm going to try the hot tea in the morning . . . I just like to eat before dealing with drinking issues. :wink2:
  5. I had my first small fill on Thursday and have had no issues . . .until yesterday morning when I went with my friends to breakfast . . . and I swear I got the simplist thing . . . and after 3 bites I thought I was going to lose it . . . I maintained, but omg that was NOT fun . . . and this morning eating my cottage cheese and apple sause was a slow process too . . . felt wierd. Guess I have morning restriction . . . and then it clears up later. Such fun new things to experience and learn.
  6. I'm thinking I will start looking like a sharpai (sp?) . . . but that is better than being FAT . . . I guess I would have to find out if my insurance covers PS or not . . .and then decide what to do with it when I get that far.
  7. Thanks Faith! I guess I'm a creature of habits (like eating used to be!) . . . I'll adjust . . .
  8. I'm doing fine with the fill . . . on to mushies today . . . but no big feeling of being full by any means .. . I guess I won't know until I try regular food . . . but my scale moved a pound . . . FINALLY . . .YEA! Chris
  9. My family told me my Walmart "stretch" jeans were just to damn big today . . . so I went and bought an 18-20 and looked and them and said no way will they fit .. .and got home and damn they DO FIT! Then I was trying on some old clothes in my drawers - and I can ALMOST fit in some shirts I had after my hysterectomy . . .and that was 14 years ago! (Can you say I'm a pack rat?) They will be fine . . . and will be gone in a few months I hope - and I will give them away this time. I also bought a 3X Chargers Shirt today. I've NEVER been able to wear 3X teeshirts from anywhere . . . and I have room to spare in it! Yea! I would have bought a 2X but there wasn't one to be found in town today. I'm happy! Chris
  10. ok . . .this new format is not my friend either . . . much harder to navigate
  11. Have to ask . . . because this is the only thing on my computer that is coming up with huge (well bigger) words . . . and is suddenly laid out differently . . . and is a general PITA at the moment to try to navigate around . . . just wondering if I hit something unintentionally somewhere . . . ? I hope . . . Thanks Chris
  12. I got my fill! Ok . . .it's a small one . . . he had 3 cc in my 10cc band . . .and backed it off to 1.5cc because I was burping as I was drinking my Water .. .I go back in a month for a possible 2nd fill. He had a hard time finding the port .. . and even made the comment that I might be one of the sonigram people . . . but after changing the needle and starting again (ughhhh) . . .he got it . . . trying to sit up while the stupid needle is stuck in you isn't fun either. Anyway . . . I hope this help and gets things moving in a DOWNWARD fashion! :tt1: Chris
  13. Oh Steph . . . you can do this . . . I know you CAN! I feel the same way right now that I've lost the same amount of weight years before .. .and have never been able to break the point I'm at right now . . . I want to see the scales say something BELOW 273 so badly . . . and at this point it's almost "why did I do this". But then . . . I remember why . . . my knee, my hip, my back . . . and they are starting to feel better . . . so I am hanging in there . . . and you can too! We're here for you and each other . . . it's band wagon time! Jump right back on it! :pray2: Chris
  14. THANK YOU! I am really ready for today . . . and have my fingers crossed . . . the weight hasn't been changing so I think I might actually get the fill this time! I'll let you know later on. :pray2: Chris
  15. At our seminar the B12 issue was more for the RNY patients . . . us Banders were told to take a B12 pill that dissolves in our mouths (forgot the word) once a week. No shots needed.
  16. Way to go Ant! That's awesome! Things sound better and better for you. I'm still hoping for my first fill tomorrow (17th) . . . but generally feeling better too. Chris
  17. Lara - it does slow down . . . I'm supposed to get my first fill tomorrow . . . and I've been at the same weight for 3 weeks it seems .. . it's just part of the process (which I wasn't expecting even though I thought I had read everything before surgery) . . . it just "is" . . . but if you keep doing what we have to do . . . something has to give at some point . . . just hang in there!
  18. maybe these are the "descending" favorites that they had to go to in order to get someone to say "yes" they would do it  I'll vote for Y Man NOW!
  19. I'm on it every morning - mostly because I can't believe it isn't moving! lol . . . but I want to know if things move . . . in any direction. I sure don't want to start putting pounds back on! Chris
  20. you are not alone . . . my scale hasn't moved hardly at all in 3 weeks . . . I go in on Thursday for a second attempt at getting my first fill - I was supposed to get one on the 2nd . . . and he said to wait. I'm starving .. . eating more than I should even though its the right things . . . exercising and getting generally "unenthused" if that is a word . . . hang in there . . . something has to give at some point . . . all those that went before us are losing weight!
  21. My doctor wants me to take 8 bites . . . and wait to see if I'm full. My directions are protein first, then veggies/fruit, and then carbs if there is room. I also have a protein drink mid morning and mid afternoon. Let me tell you right now - 8 bites do NOT do it . . . I can eat my breakfast at 5 or 5:30 . . . and people on the trolley can hear my stomach growling on my way to work at 6:45. I'm getting all my liquids in . . . not a problem at work, but more of a battle on the weekends because I'm not looking at a clock constantly . . . I have met several of my doctor's patients at exercise and support groups - and they have ALL said they have had minimal fills . . . if any . . . I'm supposed to go in again on Thursday for my first fill . . . he told me no on the 2nd when I was there . . . and I'm going to ARGUE if he doesn't want to fill me this time. I don't mind doing what I'm supposed to do when I have my tool working with me . . . but to have the tool but not have it functioning . . . it's like a torture and a sure way to get me disinterested really fast.
  22. Another visualization I use is 5LB bags of sugar . . . and I sure couldn't carry 6 of them around . . . so you are going GREAT!
  23. FANTASTIC UG! Way to go! That is SUCH a great feeling! Keep up the great work . . . :welldoneclap: Chris
  24. Wendy's Chili 1 pound ground chuck 1 15−ounce can of diced tomatoes (liquid included) 1 15−ounce can of red kidney Beans (liquid drained) 1 15−ounce can of pinto beans (liquid drained) 1 8−ounce can Hunt's tomato sauce 1/2 medium white onion, diced 1 4−ounce can diced green chilies (with liquid) 2 Tablespoons chopped celery 2 Tablespoons chili powder 1/2 Tablespoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1 cup Water Brown the ground chuck over medium heat, breaking into small pieces with the spatula. Add a dash of salt and pepper while cooking. Empty the cooked meat into a spaghetti strainer, and rinse well under very hot water. This removes the bulk of the fat. Transfer the beef into a dutch oven, and add the remaining ingredients. Stir together to combine thoroughly. Over medium heat, bring to a simmer. Reduce the burner to low, and continue simmering 50−60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
