When was the last time you lost 40 lbs in 10 weeks, and recovered from a mild heart attack? Cut yourself some slack.
Your are doing great. As for the 3 week stall, I truly believe that stalls are merely the body getting use to the weight loss.

What a great thread! Been married for over twenty years, but it's so nice to hear these body-positive stories. My TMI NSV is to be on top without crushing the poor man.

    Hello,
I am feeling a little blue I have shared with some family and friends my decision to have gastric bypass. All I hear is your going the easy way out, your being lazy why don't you just get off your butt and excercise and eat well. My surgery date is 01/29/15 and start my Liver shrinking diet on 01/15/15.

Im not going to lie to you about the sagging skin issues. Yes we are woman and we hate the excess skin before surgery and we are going to be very self conscious with the hanging skin lol. At least for me I hate my arms, which can flap like I'm going to fly, but honestly I don't dwell on it or it will steal my joy of losing over 100 lbs. People always tell me so what your skinny now you look great, so I try my best to feel blessed and not focus on the stupid hanging skin which I'm the only on absencing about.

Thank you so much Maggie and Denise! Glad you are doing well after your surgery Denise The only thing that worries me the most is once I lose the weight the sagging skin. I feel as that is going to stress me out the most.

I know it may not be a HUGE deal- but in 19 days I will have my first appointment necessary for surgery.
There, we will discuss what my best option is and ...
    THIS IS THE BEST PART!
Because I have been a good girl and really proactive, I have already:
    -taken the workshops
    -completed packet
    -blood work done
    -psych eval done
-sent letter of recommendation from physician
    -every other little damn thing!
Sooo, ideally- I will meet with everyone 2/5, and because they don't have to wait on anything, send off my information to my insurance co for pre-auth!
That means by this time next month, I could be told YES-- even better, scheduled ASAP.
Ahhh I'm so excited, but so so nervous all of this work will mean nothing if my insurance says no.
    I'll keep y'all updated!

Wow! So you just lived one of my dreams. Congratulations on your progress! I have walked by that store so many times for so many years hoping I would one day be able to purchase bras and panties from there.
I am still not quite there but I am not too far off.
I am however able to purchase some clothes from normal stores and am close to moving down another size here in the next 5/10 lbs.
I cannot wait to cut up my Layne Bryant card. I think there will be a huge celebration at my house.
I have had to replace all my shoes because I now take a medium width! I love shoe shopping!
By the way, I have always hated shopping, now I look forward to trying on clothes!
Congratulations again on your great success and thanks for sharing your wins! I guess I will live vicariously through you until I lose the next couple of sizes.

Hi Everyone! I usually don't do much topic starting, but I thought I would share. One of the things I wondered about pre-sleeve is if I was going to be successful. I was the world's WORST dieter. I was even worse with sticking to anything long term. The sleeve has changed my life 100% for the better. Granted, there have been some adjustments that have to be made (like new allergic reactions to foods etc), but I wouldn't change this. I was walking in the mall last weekend and walked by Victoria's Secret. I have never purchased any bras (or anything matter of fact) from in there, my chest was just too big. I thought, what the heck, lemme check it out. I need new bras anyway (semi-annual sale, extra 25% COME ON!!). Let me start by saying I was a 42DD (even a 42DD at times this time last year), so I was a little apprehensive. I still think of myself as big (that still is taking some time to adjust to). I walked out of the store with a 34DDD and a 36DD, And they were sexy bras (too bad I am the only one that sees them lol)! I skipped all the way to the car! Woohoo!! I finally cut up my Torrid credit card (plus size store), and paid off the bill. Victoria's Secret here I come! I've gone from a tight 20, to a size 8/10, size medium/large shirts. The only thing that hasn't changed are my feet.....still an 11, but now I don't have to get wide width calves!
I never thought I would have this opportunity!
Thanks for reading, and have a FABULOUS day!

There is absolutely NOTHING easy about a sleeve journey, pre or post. If anything, we work harder than an average dieter. Physically and most of all emotionally.
Until your friend can dare to go on a liquid diet for 2 weeks, then bare the pain and triumph of holes in your stomach and recovery, teaching a new stomach to eat with out barfing, and then eating like a chipmunk for the rest of her life while having a exercise regimen...i think she needs to shut the heck up. And i am being nice here.
Nothing more irritating than hearing a reformed fat person saying "easy way out".
Glad you kicked her to the curb.

That friend wasn't a friend all this time. That is simply an aquaintance. Real friends will support you big or small. Those kind of friends are hard to come by.
