  1. I love looking at everyone's before and after pics, it's amazing how much more confident and how bright smiles are in the after pics! Makes me so excited to start my journey!!!
  2. My PCP doctor had to write a date and weight from 2011,2012, and 2013. I was pregnant most of 2012 and I am hoping that doesn't cause any issues.
  3. My PCP doctor had to write a date and weight from 2011,2012, and 2013. I was pregnant most of 2012 and I am hoping that doesn't cause any issues.
  4. I just ordered this outfit in a size 8 for my goal outfit!!! I can't wait to have my surgery!
  5. So my surgery will be in April or May ( God Willing) I am a Girl Scout troop leader and my girls want to do the Shine Run 5K in September. I will be like 4/5 months post op, do you think that will be feasible?
  6. Congrats!!! You look great
  7. Congrats!!! I am so happy for you. everything works on Gods clock!!! I haven't had my surgery yet but After I had my daughter (7 years ago) they told me I would never have more children. It would be 1 in a million that I would be able to conceive. I went crazy trying everything, ( looking back I feel so bad for my husband having to deal with me ) I finally gave up and left it in Gods hands and 3.5 years later I had my son and 2 years after that I had my third child.
  8. I can't wait to get rid of all my plus size clothing. I already found a place to donate my dressy stuff for women who need clothes for interviews and starting in the workforce! I also found a Muslim women's shelter to donate all my plus size islamic clothing!!! I can't wait!!!
  9. I'm a Girl Scout troop leader and took my troop to Six Flags this past summer. When we got off one of the roller coasters we went to look at the photos that they take as we walked up some teenagers were making fun of the fat Muslim lady (me) that was really one of my wake up calls.
  10. I have only told my mother. My husband doesn't even know, he knows I am having surgery in April or May on my stomach but assumes it's for my ulcers. I haven't lied I just don't go into details. I don't have anyone in my family or friends that would be supportive except my mother bc she went threw the same struggles and had gastric bypass 14 years ago.
  11. My mom was addicted to Diet Coke, she had gastric bypass 14 years ago. She had a sip 3 months after her surgery and HATED the taste.
  12. I really love Dr medvetz and Malinda. Malinda has been so kind I feel has gone above and beyond in making me feel comfortable and helping me with the horrible process of insurance approval. Dr medvetz was recommended to me. My mother is the director of nursing at a hospital in north jersey and she asked a lot of doctors there who is good and who they would want their family to go to and they told her Lisa. So that's why I drive 1.5 hours to her!
  13. I just started with her, I won't have my surgery till April or May. I dread the pre opt diet good luck with it. What are you having to eat?
  14. To be honest my husband doesn't even know, the only one that knows is my mother. My husband knows I will be having surgery on my stomach in a couple months, that's it bc he would not be supportive and I don't need negativity. I have 2 ulcers so he thinks it's for that. I have never lied about it I just haven't gone into detail. And I would never tell my friends or other family bc they wouldn't understand.
  15. Hello ladies, I am very nervous for this surgery. I have had gallbladder surgery and 2 C sections so I wanted to know is it worse then the c sections, better, or pretty much the same in the pain and recovery time.
  16. Does anyone live in the woodbridge area?
  17. I am having mine at our lady of lourdes willingboro nj won't be until April or May 2015 as I just started my journey. Who was your surgeon?

  20. I haven't had my surgery yet, it's looking like end of April beginning of May. I can't wait to go into Nordstrom and buy from the "normal" section. Also Victoria's Secret!!! I am 28 and very into fashion so I can't wait to be able to go into the city and walk into any boutique and be able to fit in the clothes!!!
  21. For example I need to loose about 120lbs but I don't look it. I feel every single one of those lbs in my knees and back. So I wouldn't judge anyone bc you never know what someone is going threw or story is.
  22. I'm 5 8ish and my dr said my goal weight is 145. I carry my weight very good so I'm looking to be in the 160s
  23. I have always been chubby, after my 1st child I maintained my weight while pregnant with my 2nd I got up to 260, I went on weight watchers and worked out like crazy basically starving myself and lost 77lbs in 3 months. I got pregnant with number 3 and gained all the weight back. I just don't have the energy. I am young and I want to be able to run around and keep up with my kids. My husband is very active and outdoorsy and I want to be able to share that with him. He has never been negative about my weight, he has always tried to encourage me to eat right and work out. I want to live a long happy healthy life insha Allah
