  1. My doc requires chewable for a month
  2. So I am a couple weeks out now and at the point where I am to start my Vitamins. I ordered everything chewable or dissolvable from Celebrate. I cannot!!! keep the big chewable mulitivit in without wretching and frothing. I have tried with and without food and nothing seems to be helping. Any advice?
  3. go to bariatriceating.com. good recipies, depending on how your doctor wants your diet you will need to be a bit careful but I figure as long as i do the Protein first at all meals, I am good.
  4. So of course with you seeing yourself everyday, you don't see the results like others do. I could see the scale moving but I couldn't see the weight gone. Well I decided just for giggles to put on a shirt I used to wear. Loved this shirt and the last time i put it on it was way tight around the belly and made me feel horrible. This was of course pre surgery. Well on it goes and not only does it fit, but it's a bit loose. Now I see it, now I understand and now I can start really acknowledging that not only did I do this, but it is working and it is the best decision I could make. Now all i need is to go back to the doctor for labs so I can see on paper that stopping all my meds after this was a good plan as well. I can't wait to find out what my fasting glucose is or what my BP is. This was right and I am soooo glad I did it. PS..wearing my shirt anyway, big or not...this one will not go in the clothing swap at support this month cuz its my reminder.....
  5. wondering along those lines if anyone has a favorite unflavored protein powder to add to things for an additional boost
  6. I don't have unrealistic expectations. It just seemed strange to loose such then so little..thought it would be more of a steady gradual. Forgot about the water thing though. Makes more sense.
  7. They go through the procedure and post op recovery as well as life at home after, diet, vitamins and such in detail. Mine referred to it as bariatric bootcamp. I did my pre op testing in the morning and bootcamp in the afternoon.
  8. I just had this same problem. turns out it's stomach acid. Taking your PPI every day helps significantly. My hunger has finally settled down. I am almost two weeks post op now.
  9. I was told that if i was doing fine without carbs to just leave them out, your body misses them but if you don't give in, the craving doesn't start again. I am not saying that that is the reason for the gain but it could be part of it, maybe go back to basics. Protein first veggies next.
  10. So for those of you who don't know, I am one week four days post op. I am a mother and wife and I do the cooking most of the time. So I sit down, make my list today (oh yummy- btw...all low carb high Protein so the family gets used to it so when I can eat I can still cook like this), but two of the recipes I will be making required rotisserie chicken. I bought two of them to shred for a chicken enchilada bake and white chicken chili. You have no idea, well I am sure you do, how hard it was not to put some in my mouth. I am not at the point yet in my diet. Oh how I wish I was...lol.....How was it when you went back to real life and cooking for your family again?
  11. So i was told that after surgery it wasn't uncommon to have the scale read higher at my first appt because of the swelling and such, however, when i went i was twelve pounds down. Now that was five days ago and now in those five days I have only lost three pounds. I am only on the soft food part of my diet so eating about two tablespoons of greek yogurt or three ounces of Protein shake. How can I hit a plateau already?
  12. Sounds funny...but throat gurrgle. Almost like a burp but not exactly.
  13. are scallops fishy? I know i have to increase my seafood tolerance but i just am not a big fan of fish fish which included shellfish and crustrations apparently
  14. Everybody is different but from the sounds of it, you are getting closer. They usually need to submit everything for Nutritionist and psych to insurance before an approval is issued.
  15. Deanna doesn't like me cuz I called him Dr bad hair...lol
  16. they are deleting the posts as fast as they go up
  17. done, tactfully put, but done none the less
  18. I had that prior to surgery....lol.....i am not so worried. I have a great conceelor
  19. I agree...warm goes down so much easier. I would do tea
  20. So it's everywhere. Daily Burn. Free trial. I get it...but does anyone use it? How much is it after the free trial and does it have decent tracking and such?
  21. I asked my doctor about that today because of how many different diets there is out there. I am not on pureed until 3 weeks post op. She said they like to be cautious to ensure the staple line is healed and the swelling is down before they introduce pureed. I was just today given the go ahead for Protein shakes and greek yogurt, prior to that just Water broth and Jello.
  22. Obviously you know it's wrong if you are feeling like this. If you are getting out of your marriage get out, but you will need to wait until he is out as well...then give it some time....then see if you are right for each other. You both may just be reliving the glory years simply because you are so unhappy in your current relationships now. Be alone for awhile. You need to
  23. Not really. My surgeon gave me a card to carry that tells anyone to call him first prior to anything being done GI wise
  24. me personally don't think i could do eat the cookie...it would start me down a slippery slope of rationalizing. Atkins has packages of chocolate covered almonds which are low net carbs. I think (once i can eat again...i am only a week post op) I would go for something like that or a sweet fruit smoothy instead of the cookie.
