American Idol 2007
Last night's show was FANTASTIC!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED BLAKE!!! He was amazing!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: At least Jordin realized she didn't do very good, poor thing should have picked a different song. Melinda is really starting to bug me, alright so she's good, but she's not different, there are a ton of other people that sound just like her. Lakisha came back nicely, cute little kiss from Simon! Phil did a great job. Chris did well too, but nothing extraordinary.

May Day
I remember doing that when I was like maybe 8 or 9 years old! Hey, we might have been neighbors, I grew up in the most northeastern tip of North Dakota....like a mile away from Minnesota.

Yeah, that's right...

Stop having so many damn kids; population control, anyone?
I must make one thing clear....WE DO NOT TALK LIKE THAT!!!! It is soo frustrating because people might really think that is how we talk! It was a great movie, aside from that! They shot some scenes here, I remember driving by the upside down car on the way to work for quite a few days, that was from the part where the car rolled over into the ditch and the guy shot the two people. Oh, and the statue of Paul Bunyan was set up over by a little town about 10 miles from me. It was really cool!

Weddings & showers

Stop having so many damn kids; population control, anyone?
Hi Fluffy! What I meant by my post that you quoted was the particular town I live in, not North Dakota as a whole. I like North Dakota, born and raised here, but the town I live in sucks. I wouldn't mind living in Grand Forks, but I would LOVE to move to Fargo, maybe some day....right now I am over an hour away from really good shopping, and I love to shop!! My Mom lives by Hazen, it is really pretty country over there, here it is flat flat flat.... Anyway, just wanted you to know that! It's always nice to see other North Dakotans here!!

Imus show suspended due to racial comments
Ok, so he can't call people names but we can call him "ugly old creep". Hmmm.....interesting. What he said was definately mean and totally uncalled for. I must admit I had never even heard of this guy until all this happened. I have a question though. People have been talking about is there or isn't there a double standard when it comes to use of words, etc. Remember that movie "White Chicks", where 2 black guys pretended to be white girls? I've only seen parts of the movie and it was good, but my question is.....what would happen if some white guys made a movie called "Black Chicks" and did the same type of thing? Would that be OK or would there be an outrage? I'm just really curious because I do believe there is a bit of a double standard and that's ok by me. To me it's like - I can call my sister a bitch but I'll be damned if anybody else can! You know?? :noidea: :noidea:

American Idol 2007
I just read on TMZ.com that AKON didn't perform live, it was taped. They also said that Pink taped her performance last night after the live show was over and that Paula, Simon and Randy didn't stick around to watch, they put audience people in their seats. I guess I will be watching a little more closely when they air Pink's performance to see if you can tell that the judges aren't there! I thought that was quite interesting.......

Should parents be able to smack children in discipline
On the flip side, my father never hit me, but I was terrified of him anyway. Terrified to the point that I avoided him as much as possible, but it had nothing to do with spanking, hitting, etc. So cases can be made from many different scenarios of how children are affected by their parents regardless of their form of discipline. :noidea:

"Savage Nation"
Oh no, they're too busy watching Farenheit 911, and eating it up like cake. They will only look at one side of the issue.

Wow, BRAVO!!!! WELL SAID once again, Jack!!!

American Idol 2007
I think what Howard, and vote for the worst.com are doing is intended to make a mockery of the show itself, but what it is really doing is hurting the contestants that deserve to be there and will end up going home too early. It is mean and those kids don't deserve that, not even Sanjaya, he's just a kid, let him go home and end all this already....

"Savage Nation"
Wow, I actually agree with you on that one.... I have a problem with this one though...so celebrities can say whatever they want because they can pass it off as comedy, BUT a journalist can't make any jokes because they are not comedians??? PUH-LEASE!!! Bill Mahr can say that Cheney should die, but it is passed off as comedy, but when Ann Coulter makes a joke about an "f" word, that is extremely offensive and creates incredible uproar. (Now, I don't like what she said and am not saying it shouldn't have caused an uproar, but the same should be said for Bill too.) Why shouldn't comedians be held responsible for their words too??? They can't always hide behind their title of comedian because it's obvious their remarks are anything but comedy, they are dead serious.....IMHO
