  1. Terrilen, Best of luck to you and know that your in my thoughts and prayers! It won't be long & you will be doing this again!
  2. I will be banded Oct 25th in PV, Mexico by Dr. Joya! I am excited and a bit nervous! Hope not too many of these after I join all of you in bandland!
  3. Speaking of eggs, are you able you eat egg-drop Soup on the liquid diet? I love egg-drop soup! I will be banded the end of Oct!! Can't wait!! Cindyh
  4. Welcome Joelle! It is so great to see several people from ND on this site! I will be having the band procedure in Mexico Oct 25th!! I am very excited about starting on my new journey! I met the nicest lady on-line that will be having her procedure done at the same time from NC. We are meeting in Mexico. Welcome aboard, Joelle!! Cindyh
  5. After all the conversation it is obvious that you are all a very close, caring and compassionate group and would not intentionally lead anyone off the beat'in path. I do believe everyone is doing their best to be honest, sincere and helpful - "just the way the forum is designed to be used." There is no doubt there is confusion & doubt for new people searching for answers, but never are there intentions of any creating ill feelings amoung you. After all this said, I conclude that I am very grateful for all that helped me in my search and value all of your input and opinions. I would not have been able to make any final decision without all of you who cared. I plan to use Dr. Huacuz as my surgeon. My final decision was made after hearing from Gina. I felt she was that stepping stone for me. Thank you to all who took the time to answer questions for me! I feel I have made some new and very valuable friends. I plan to stay on this forum through my journey. If my surgery with Dr. Huacuz goes well, I will be one of his biggest fans and you will all know about it! Can't wait!!!!! Feeling liberated and envisioning a skinny me!!! Cindyh Thanks to all who helped me make an important decision!
  6. Dear UroDoc, Thank you for caring enough to give us some insight regarding political dynamics that unfortunatley occur in the Doc world. In our world, we could never know important information as such. I appreciate that you are respectful and caring enough to take the time to be concerned enough to comment. Do not regret your involvement, as it is proof that you are the kind of doctor that people like myself are searching for to entrust our lives, health and welfare with. I too, would want to know the name of the physician that would be capable of this. I can only assume that is the Doc in controversy. With all my respect & gratefulness, Cindyh
  7. I am happy for you that your surgery in Mexico was a very pleasant experience and successful! It appears you have done very well and must be feeling so good by now!! I would love to have Dr. Oritz as my surgeon also, but I could stay in my home town have the surgery for almost around $2,000.00 more with free refills for a year. I am self pay and feel there has to be a good, reputable surgeon that stands behind his work for less $. There are several surgeons to pick from at lower prices and that makes the choice more complicated. I know that spending the extra $ may be worth it, but some of us do not have the extra to spend. Like I said, I would stay here and have the surgery if that were the case. Thank you for your feedback. I wish you many skinny and happy days to come!! Cindyh
  8. I agree. You make some very good points and have cleared up any doubts in this area. Thanks for the response. Cindyh
  9. Thanks Kathy for you response. I also believe that there is not anyone using this forum that is not sincere about the doctor they advocate for. I beleive that they would not refer patients if they knew they themselves did not believe in him/her. Cindyh
  10. Hi everyone!! While I appreciate everyones comments on competent & not so competent docs in Mexico, I was informed that 'beware' of people on the talk forums who promote certain surgeons for free refills or some type of reward from that particular surgeon or facility. If this is fact, it makes it difficult for some of us searching for a surgeon to weed out this type of information. It presents barriers in making decisions regarding surgeons in Mexico. I understand that complications can occur with anyone and any surgeon as it does in the US. I am hearing controversy regarding Dr. Huacuz. It is my understanding that there are several complaints regarding Dr. Huacuz. Is there anyone else willing to share any of the so-called "several complaints" on Dr. Huacuz? Thank you to the individual who shared her misfortune regarding her surgery. I have and I am still considering Dr. Huacuz as a surgeon but I want to know more about these 'several' complaints. I continue to do my homework and would like to schedule surgery by the end of Oct. I too spoke with Don Mills. He was very helpful and informative. But, after attempting to disect all the information and opinions, I could also speculate that he might be working to promote american surgeons? I dont know. I would like to hear from others or even the surgeons if they view the talk forums. Continue to do my homework and continue to be in a dilema! Cindyh
  11. Hi everyone!! While I appreciate everyones comments on competent & not so competent docs in Mexico, I was informed that 'beware' of people on the talk forums who promote certain ones for free refills or some type of reward from that particular surgeon or facility. If this is fact, it makes it hard to weed out this type of information if this is true. It also presents more difficulty in making a decision regarding surgeons in Mexico. Thank you Fran for sharing your experience. I wish more people like yourself would share with some of us that are searching to make wise decisions regarding our lives/health. I also understand that complications can occur with anyone or any surgeon. I personally would like to know, besides Fran's misfortune with Dr. Huacuz any other so-called complications with his surgeries since there are supposed to be 'several' complaints. Is there anyone out there willing to share? I spoke to Don Mills also. He has been very helpful. But, is there a chance that Don works to promote american surgeons? I dont know. I would like to hear from others or even the surgeons if they view the talk forums. Suspicious in ND, Cindyh
  12. Best of luck to you Missy!! When is your surgery scheduled? I would like to use Dr. Huacuz and actually made up my mind to do so, but the negative info has me stalling out on this decision and keeps me searching. I want to have a surgery scheduled by the end of Oct but the search is time consuming and confusing. I also have a limited budget as a self pay, so it narrows my search with some of the prospective docs in Mexico. I hope your experience in Mexico is all that you hope and more!! I wish you skinny days for the rest of your life!!! Cindyh
  13. Missy, Just wondering how your feeling about Dr. Huacuz. I am also from ND (Bismarck) and thought about using him for my surgeon. I am still researching. Cindyh
  14. Hi!! I see a couple bansters from ND. I am from Bismarck and would like to get to know you. I am planning to go to Mexico to get banded the end of October. Cindyh
  15. Thanks you Barbara for responding. I appreciate your input. I too will be taking my time researching and taking the advice from people who have done their homework like yourself. Who was your surgeon from Monterrey? I will check out his website. What is LBT & how do you access Yahoo boards? Best of luck to you with your weight loss!! Cindy
  16. Paula, I am considering Dr. Huacuz or Dr. Aceves. I have heard nothing but great things about Dr. Aceves and his staff. Dr. Huacuz is less expensive and since I am self pay, I may not have a choice. My heart wants to go to Mexicali with Dr. Aceves, but my pocket book says I should have surgery done with Dr. Huacuz in TJ. I am still checking and researching and trying to get as much info as possible. Thanks so much for your response!! Good luck to you and keep think'in skinny!! Sound like your doing great!! Cindy
  17. Can anyone share their experiences with Dr Aceves? Thanks - Cindy
