scrambled eggs

Recommended Posts

I have entered the soft food stage of my diet, and the first thing I had was scrambled eggs for dinner last night. I never thought eggs could taste so good, and I've been eating them all my life! I guess it was just the fact that I was not eating for over two weeks straight. One egg left me full, where before being banded I would eat 3 scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage and wash it all down with a huge glass of orange juice.

Just thought I'd share.

eggs are great, aren't they!

When others here told me that they can't eat eggs anymore because they cause PB episodes I thought that they were off their rockers! Then when it happened to me while eating scrambled eggs (with no fill mind you) I believed them, and suddenly they didn't seem so nuts anymore!!!

A word to the wise......please be careful eating those eggies! Especially the scrambled type. They can sure cause one heck of a PB!

Having been banded for 1 yr 7 months, I wanted to add my 2 cents worth.... I love scrambled eggs as well and it was like Heaven when I got to start on real food again. I never have had a PB on the eggs, but do be careful. I make mine moist by adding fat free mayonaisse to them or maybe some salsa, that way they are moist going in with less likely chance of getting stuck.

Good luck on your WLS journey....

Cindy, I think I lived on egg drop (strained), hot and sour Soup, and cheese soup with mashed potatoes added. To the point where I haven't been able to eat any since!

I remember your surgery date is coming soon. I'm in Bismarck too so if you need moral support or something, pm me and I'll send you my cell phone number. Celeste

Thanks for the info! And congrats on your awesome weight loss!!! I haven't had any problems with the eggs so far. I had some again for dinner last night. I won't have a fill for another two weeks, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I don't scramble my eggs until they dry out, and I like to put about a tablespoon of ketchup in them... maybe that's what has kept me from having a PB with them.

Eggs...well there are great...and never had a problem with them until my second fill. Boy if they aren't moist they don't like me AT ALL. Egg salad is still ok..with some FF mayo and touch of mustard. Just be careful but enjoy them eggs and egg drop Soup.< /p>

Yummy eggs.....two more days to go here, I am really looking forward to having them for Breakfast. I am so over Soup it is not funny. I hate to be uneducated but what does PB mean? I have seen it mentioned all the time. Can someone suggest any other nice mushy meals I can have :(

PB - Productive Burp - when the food in you pouch makes a startling re-appearance. Like throwing up but with no stomach acid so not as much yuck. I have not had the pleasure yet but for some it can be painful. There is a link below for other message board terms. Have fun.

I will be going on soft/mushies this Wednesday - egg salad here I come. If I see Soup and Protein shakes again in my life it will be to soon (or at least for every meal in the day for 3 weeks argggggggg)

PB can also refer to when your food gets stuck and your body begins to produce slime (which comes back up in your mouth) but the food gets unstuck and goes through with no further problems.

I guess that there are different levels of severity with the PBs.

To avoid PBs - chew small pieces of food very thoroughly and avoid foods that you know have given you problems in the past. If you're just starting out then it'll be a trial and errer thing.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
