I'm getting the bypass on the Feb. 17th. Last year I was referred to Mayo Clinic for my severe GERD. in hopes of a revision to my Nissen Fundoplication, but surgeon says at this point the Roux-en-Y is my only option to divert the acid.

I didn't realize that I got up in the night to pee until I got fit bit. I also tracked how many steps it took to walk to the alarm clock, hit snooze, and go back to bed.

My surgery (RNY) is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17th at Mayo Clinic. Has anybody been given any suggestions for the last few days before surgery?

I've been craving the "bad stuff" this week too. All we can do is climb back on the bandwagon and hold on tighter for the ride. I hope your appointment went well.

Sorry to hear that, I understand how miserable that can be. I hope they can find a way to make you more comfortable for now. How was it repaired before? I'm pre-surgery and have a hiatal hernia that will need to be repaired at the same time. The thoracic surgeon I spoke with is against using mesh when repairing and would prefer to stitch it.

It is normal to be nervous about anything unexplored, change is scary. I hope you can focus on how this will be a new starting point for your health. Best wishes on your new adventure.
