    Down and regretful?

Thank you! I l will have to check out that forum.
  2. It's been two weeks since my surgery and I feel very lucky that I am healing fast and have had no complications. Ive been really good at sticking to my foods and portions (I'm currently still on the cottage cheese, yogurt and shake stage) and have been walking daily. For the most part I've been positive and motivated for my healthy future, but there have been short moments where I think to myself 'man, what did I do?!' And I heard that short feeling is normal. But, for some reason I just can't shake it today! I keep thinking about the foods I miss, and not just bad ones, healthier ones like salads, chicken and even a turkey sandwich. It sounds so silly, but I get frustrated with all the Vitamins and trying to get my Protein and Water in. I just can't stop thinking I made a drastic mistake. Is this just a normal feeling while in the beginning?

When will my energy be back:(

Thank you! I'm thinking I'll be good by December 1st! Each day I'm feeling more and more like myself. And my incisions look like they're healing well and healing more each day! Can't wait till the scabs are gone!

When will my energy be back:(

Thank you everyone! I've been really working on getting all the Water and Protein in and I've noticed that the Vitamins really help. Thanks again!
  5. Hello Everyone, I just want to thank anyone who replies ahead of time! I had my sleeve surgery this Wednesday (11/19) and find this place SOOOOOO helpful! One thing I was wondering, is when do you start getting your regular energy and stamina back? I have had no complications (knock on wood), and am doing well with food and healing. I went to Target yesterday for about an hour though, and it knocked me out afterwards! I just felt completely drained. Not in pain though at least. Just curious how long it takes until people started feeling like themselves again and could do daily routines? I teach kindergarten, and although I am not going back until the first of December, I'm starting to get worried. Also, how long did it take until your stomach felt normal as far as standing, sitting, stretching, etc. This is my first surgery ever, so I think I need to sloooww things down. Just curioius when I'll be back to my good old self again. Thanks in advance!

    Any November sleevers ?

I'm exactly the same as you! excited to start puréed foods tomorrow! That's really good that you've gotten two Protein Shakes down. I've only managed to get one (through tiny sips throughout the day) and some broth and sugar free Jello. I'm thinking I should focus more on the protein though. Same thing though with the crushed vitamins! Uughhhh.

    Any November sleevers ?

My surgery was the 19th. I would love to be part of a group! I'm new here, so not really sure how to navigate and connect.

    KAISER

It does depend on the location I believe. I went to South San Francisco. My first introductory class was mid July. Once I finished all the classes and evaluations it was probably the end of August. The earliest surgery date was October but due to work I had to push my surgery date to November.
  9. Yes, I was operated on Wednesday around noon and went home today at the same time! I try and walk as often as possible and sip Water as much as possible too! I was surprised at how short the actual surgery part was (only 30-40 minutes). The prep and waiting is what took forever. They gave me something to help with nerves before going I to the OR which I guess is standard. When I woke up in recovery I did feel naseus, but that quickly went away with the meds. Keep us updated how it goes!
  10. Walk as much as possible, try and drink water often and relax the first couple days. Good luck!
  11. I just had my surgery yesterday! I wasn't nervous/anxious until the day of. The first day of surgery I definitely felt out of it, but today I'm home and feeling better. just a little tired and my stomach incisions are a little tender. You will do great! Good luck!

    KAISER

I just got my surgery yesterday through Kaiser and am very happy! At my site, you had to have a BMI of 35 or more and/or be at least 100 pounds overweight. They also required a handful of informational classes, a psych evaluation, surgeon appointments and I had to lose ten pounds before my surgery was schedule do Hope this helped!
