People who don't know about the WLS say "How do you stay so skinny?"
People who do know about the WLS say "You're so tiny!"
You squeeze behind seats, down crowded aisles and through barely opened doors.
You sit sideways in the chair that used to stick to you when you stood up.
You stay the same size so long, clothes actually wear out instead of you growing out of them.
You are comfortably full on a reasonable amount of food, even years after surgery.

When you go into a store try on a shirt and the store associate starts throwing jeans over the door because she thinks they will look cute with the shirt you picked out and looks to be my style she says. I look at the size and said wow, how did you know what size I needed and she says oh well that's what size I am and you look to be the same. You walk out and see she's a tiny little thing..... SMILES for MILES!!!

I use my hubby's old beard trimmer. I've shaved and it sucks. Never tried waxing. Go au naturale, but it gets too long. And I don't want to go completely without, because I think it looks prepubescent and a little creepy. But there you have it.

Shopping has been a little challenging for me! I must admit that I now find shopping for clothes a little overwhelming! I was so used to going to the plus-sized corner at Macy's or Nordstrom, or shopping online...so to have all these CHOICES is bananas! It's a little disconcerting sometimes, and I'm the one who used to always complain about ugly plus-size clothes, the lack of variety, etc.
It's a great problem to have, though. Lately I've been hitting Macy's, Old Navy, Nordstrom Rack, Zara, J. Crew, Talbots, H&M, and I still love Land's End online, too.

I had a blast!!! I felt so pretty- I can't wait to see them!!!
I'm getting a book of 20-30 images for my hubby to keep-- might put one up in the bedroom as well. Our master bedroom is kept pretty private.
I get my photos next week. I'll share a PG version with y'all when I do!

I LOVE sushi. I've been eating it now for about 25 years, so at this point, I've tried it all. When I was 4 months post-op I sat at the sushi bar and asked the chef to make me a roll without rice. He made a roll using the cucumber as the shell, put salmon inside and sliced it into the regular 6 pieces. I ate 3 pieces and saved the rest for dinner. I didn't even miss the rice, it was delicious and I was satisfied. Now at 6 months out, I'm anxious to have it with rice again...yum:)

I didn't try rolls until about 6 months out. I get rice free ones and I substitute seaweed with soy paper. I don't have a problem with seaweed, but I can't just pop the whole roll in my mouth. Taking a bite out of a roll wrapped with seaweed is messy. I find soy paper holds together better. I order a snowcrab and fresh salmon roll this way. Yum!

    Hi all,
I'm celebrating my fourth fall since WLS surgery in May 2011. Here's my fav fall foods that keep me at goal:
pumpkin Pie Greek Yogurt: I mix one large Fage Yogurt from costco with 1/2 can pumpkin (not the pie filling), about 1 1/2 cups Splenda, 1 Tablespoon vanilla and a few shakes of cinnamon. I eat it in the morning for Breakfast. For a nightime snack, I crush one graham cracker sheet (just put it in a baggie and roll a can over it) and pour it over the top.
Pumpkin Latte: I make a cup of Decaf espresso or use a packet of Starbucks Via Instant Decaf French Roast, add a cup of soy milk and a big splash of Torani's sugar free Pumpkin Pie Syrup.
Pumpkin Cream: I heat a cup of Soy Milk and add a big splash of Torani's sugar free Pumpkin Pie Syrup.
Soup: I love Soups in fall. I doctor up my canned Soups, added frozen veggies and extra Protein. I freeze two and three ounce portions of meats left over from dinners. Put the Soup in a bowl, toss in frozen veggies and meat and heat till it's all hot. Easy-peasy. I found frozen black Beans at my Walmart. I throw in some of those sometimes.
Sausage: What is it about fall that makes me what sausage? Who knows. But I do like turkey sausage. I eat Turkey Little Smokies or Jimmy Dean's Frozen Turkey Sausage Patties. I especially like the Jimmy Dean sausage with Mrs. Butterworths Sugar Free Syrup and a Thomas' Whole Wheat English Muffin. It reminds me of McDonald's Sausage McGriddle, but clocks in at just over 200 calories.
Sugar Free Hot Apple Cider: I love this stuff! I add a splash of Torani's Caramel Syrup to make a hot carmel apple drink.
Apples and Persimmons: My go-to fall fruits.
Roasted Veggies: I love Brussel Sprouts, onions, sweet potatoes and winter squash roasted tll the outsides start to crisp. I use a Misto sprayer to hit them with a little oil before cooking. If I'm making a lot at once, I put them in a bowl and roll them around with a tablespoon of oil.
What re-imagined treats do you enjoy in the fall?

I am having similar issues. My 18 year old brother told me he thought i was taking the easy way out. i asked him if he was a doctor and offered him all of my information. I am pushing my (household) family to be more supportive and what do they do? They bring brownies and get mexican food >_>
They're going to find out very soon how big of a ..."brat".. I can be when I am determined. Anyone who tries to disapprove is going to listen to an hour long rant about how unsupportive they are and have been and why this TOOL is best for me.
