  1. I kinds have the same issue. I'm under growing my clothes as fast as I can dig them out. I have an annual event every summer that I would typically buy new clothes for. I would usually start about now buying outfits, getting shoes and accessories, etc.... I can't do that this year. I guess it's a good thing.
  2. I use coconut oil (i buy cold pressed virgin oil since I also use it to cook with) or shea butter on my face. On my body I use baby oil gel head to toe. I shower, pat dry so skin is just barely damp. Then apply baby oil gel generously. I have extremely dry skin so by the time I am getting dressed my body has absorbed most of it so I'm not greasy. On my incisions I use Scarfade Gel at night and bio oil in the day.
  3. IIRC there's a Footlocker in Monmouth Mall. You could try googling to see if there's a Runner's Store or Dick's Sporting Goods nearby.
  4. You're doing fine. The burping is normal. It takes a while to work up to meeting protein & fluid goals In a week or 2 you should be there.
  5. How much Water have you had? What are your nutritionist orders on what and how much you should be eating? You really should be following those orders and when you think you are hungry in between, drink water or fluids.
  6. It takes a minute to work up to getting in the minimum of 60gms of protein, and 64ounces of fluids. Keep trying, you should get there in a week or 2.
  7. You can't edit using the app. You would have to use your phone's web browser and go to the full version of BP.
  8. Pea protein, soy isolate, hemp protein will all work.
  9. Adding to the chorus. WLS is a helpful tool. It does indeed work, however the long term effectiveness depends entirely on you. You'll have to change bad habits and attitudes about food and realize that you will have to work at it every day for the rest of your life. Be positive, and be committed too this and you can be a success!
  10. The runners I know are like ASICS, but I agree you need to go to a true athletic store and get fitted. I lived and worked in Monmouth county for a hot minute.
  11. It's not unusual. Your body may just be adjusting to all the new changes. My advice would be to take your measurements (neck, boobs, waist, hips) and then step away from the scale for a bit. Make sure you are getting in your protein and fluids. If you are following your program, the weight will come off.
  12. Nothing really eases the cravings. You need to work out what you can and cannot eat with your nutritionist. It is counterproductive to return to your old eating habits. Just hang in there as you progress through the stages.
  13. The cholesterol myth is more based on genetics. Most of the good stuff is in the yolk. Unless you have a family history of high cholesterol, eat the whole egg.
  14. I had eggs at 2 weeks post op. I was allowed eggs once I hit purees. I made them really soft, almost custard like. I added a tiny bit of greek yogurt and some shredded cheese and cooked them really slow, constantly stirring. They were divine! it took me an hour to eat them, but man was I happy not to be having a liquid meal.
  15. Regular as rain. I poo at least once a day. I had my first BM on the 3 day I after I came home from the hospital. My doctor started me on stool softeners in the hospital. I was on them for 30 days and haven't needed any assistance since. I'm vegetarian so a lot of my Protein also comes from plant based sources that are also high in fiber like Beans so that may be helping. I do notice on the days when I can also get in green leafy veg or salads along with exercise and plenty of Water, I am even more regular. On those days I may go twice.
  16. I eat real oatmeal as in rolled oats. It has 13gms of protein in ½cup . It is also a good source of fiber which means you may not get constipated. It does contain carbs. Have it for breakfast and as long as you are fairly active throughout the day you should be fine. I prepare mine with water, and season with vanilla protein powder and add a teaspoon of dried cranberries. You can also make overnight oatmeal by mixing with Greek yogurt, and seasonings and let it sit overnight. This is great if you are often on the go as you can prepare it the night before and just grab & go in the morning.
  17. It's probably mostly cardio. Some of the machines could be weight training. Ask the facilitators who work there.
  18. Caffienated drinks depends on the person and the program. I started drinking regular coffee again at 6 weeks. I don't drink it everyday, maybe once or twice a week. Check with your nutritionist.
  19. Except for Vitamin K, Vitamin A, Fiber and depending on your choice of greens even a bit of Protein. Yeah, no substance at all. I eat real food, get 70+ protein a day and have NEVER been constipated.
  20. @@Grateful_Love - No some people just need to hit that purees/soft foods stage before they feel full. Some people never feel full. My advice is follow you doctor/nutritionist serving size suggestion and stop. Don't depend on that full sensation, especially early on.
  21. Yes it is. The point is to be active. You may need to add in some weight lifting post op, but really any consistent exercise, even just walking is good. I swear the core workouts I did pre-op are what made recovery so easy for me. I didn't have any pain, it just felt like I had done 100 sit ups the day before.
  22. I talked to my nutritionist about that same thing. She said "ideally" you should get your protein in over the period of the day, however is get 58 grams of protein in a shake and I have had no problems. I have lost 140 pounds and no issues whatsoever. No hair loss, no stalls, no problems with drinking or eating. That's what I do. My big AM shake is usually split in 2. I drink half pre workout and the other half post workout. No hair loss, no stalls and no problems eating or drinking.
  23. I assure you it's mostly acid. Get a good PPI, omeprazole or Gas-x strips. Give your body time to adjust to the new changes.
  24. I had the lump in the throat feeling before I increased my PPI to 40mg. At first I thought I was just too full and then I realized it was acid and that it often appeared around the same time each day. Once I increased my PPI I was fine.
  25. it took me a good 2 weeks to build up to getting 60 grams of protein but now I get over 70 most days. As for fluids what I started doing was adding loads of ice and a tiny bit of water with my protein shakes. I then just sipped all day. It was a good way to get both protein and fluids in one shot. At nearly 6 mths out I still start most days with a protein shake. I use FAGE 0% greek yogurt which is 23 gms of protein per cup, add a scoop of protein powder (Isopure unflavored) which is 26gms per scoop plus any flavorings I want. My protein shakes usually are between 30 - 40 gms of protein. Te rest I get from food. If I'm a little low then dinner is usually a cup of soup with a scoop of Isopure mixed in.
