  1. Officially dropped from a size 26 to a 16. I hit a lot more stalls lately and they last longer and longer, but I will not let it bring me down. I am proud of the progress I made, and I am only half way to goal!

  2. I have crazy addictions! Some eat when bored, I shop. Pre WLS I would go shopping when bored. I loved buying pretty clothes, shoes and makeup. Since I'm still losing I'm not buying clothes, but I still buy makeup. I'm currently going through another indie brand phase. I just bought 5 tubes of lipstick! I need a 12 step for beauty addiction.

      @her1981- I'm a particular about my cosmetics. I like ELF cosmetics as a money saver. I don't buy nearly as much makeup as I used to, but every so often I splurge.

      @Pea523 - They are small indie brands. I am currently going through a matte lip phase. I also have dark purlple dreadlocs. I bought 2 lipsticks from Colorpop cosmectics and 3 from Coloured Raine Cosmectics. 2 are red, 2 are purple and one is blue. Both brands have more traditional colors as well. I'm not buying shoes because I have as many pairs of shoes as I do clothes. I do buy more sneakers since WLS. I picked up a pair of Nike's this weekend as well. I'm not buying clothes because I have so much. I started at a size 30/32. Currently and 18/20. I have clothes all the ways down to a 16. Other than gymwear I haven't had to buy clothes throughout the entire process.

  8. Going to switch up my eating a bit. I'm not going to worry about hitting 100 gms of protein. I want to see what eating between 75 -100gms will do.

      @Djmohr - I never heard that. I'm 15mths next week. Weight loss is still happening but at a slower pace.

      I was aiming for 100 since I have so much to loose. Frankly I'd like to supplement less and focus on eating cleaner. I've unintentionally been eating less protein for a week or so. Unofficially I'm down 1 lb. I just want to decrease the amount of eggs & dairy I eat. Still undecided about going vegan.

  9. Just realized that having hot coco in the evenings is a bit of a trigger for me. Guess I'll stick with herbal tea.

      I'm good with peppermint tea, it's just hot coco. It was a nice, soothing evening drink but an hour later I wanted to eat! Tried peppermint tea and I was fine It's weird what triggers one person but not another.

      I always make from scratch using raw cacao powder, but yes it triggers my hunger in a way that tea does not. I am allergic to artificial sweeteners & stevia. Coffee doesn't bother me but I hate decaf. In the winter months I like something warm to drink at night.

  11. I have been offline for about a year. Need to reconnect as I am now having problems staying away from sweets, etc.

      You know your triggers and weak points, just be honest with yourself. There are some foods I just have to say no to even in small doses because they trigger me to overeat. I have to own and acknowledge that each and every day. It gets harder around the holiday's because there is seemingly a dessert of some sort for them all. The 2 really big holidays for sweets are coming up (Valentine & Easter). I'm preparing myself mentally now.

  12. Today's NSV - work up this morning and just wanted to stay in the bed. It's damp and rainy, I wanted to snuggle under the covers. However this is a big gym day. 9 am aquafit, then 11 am silver sneakers. So I got up & made both classes. By 1 pm as I was running errands I realized how good I felt and I was really happy I got my self up and went. Some days you just have to push through your natural inclination. Otherwise you never change old habits.

  17. Nervous about going to my one month post-op b/c the scale isn't moving! I am doing everything I am supposed to but has stayed the same since 1 week post-op. urgh!

      That's the time to go. Don't worry about the scale. Make sure you are logging and take the time to review your eating with the nutritionist. Ask for suggestions & recommendations.

  18. I am so feed up with being disabled and all the trouble I have to go through just to be able to get out of my house.

      One thing I have learned as a result of having chronic illnesses is that everybody has *something*. I just accept my illnesses as a fact of life and instead focus on what I can do and how to maximize that to my benefit. It's the glass half full view of life. It makes things immensely ore enjoyable.

  19. HELP!!!!!Is it too early to hit a stall ? I'm 10 weeks post op . l've lost 44 pds walk/running 2 miles a day. Should I increase my workout?

      Not too early at all. Your body will stop and stall many times through this journey. It's how the body readjusts to all the changes. In fact many people hit their first stall at 3 weeks. Do a search on 3 week stall and you'll see loads of post on it.

  21. Today is the anniversary of my hysterectomy. I was terrified that the cancer would be beyond correcting. Thankfully it wasn't. However, I just realized that means I am finally at a weight that I haven't seen in a dozen years.

      I am thankful to my GYN every day for her vigilance. I tried to post pone my check up because I was going on vacation and she insisted I come in anyway. That testing caught things early.
