Anyone have this problem. I get full eating but after an hour or so, my stomach growls and I feel hungry. I don't eat but I was sleeved on 12/11 and have had no issues this now. I know it is not head hunger because I can ignore that, but it feels like hunger physically, like I have a hole in my stomach and it is never satisfied.

I just talked to my coordinator with A lighter Me. She said Dr. E. Ortiz, suctures over the staples and glues. They conduct three leak tests before you leave the hospital.

Does anyone know if Dr. Elias Ortiz sews over the staple line?

I too am having no real problems. Never had to take any of the pain pills they sent me home with. I have had no problems drinking and I am wondering if there is something wrong with me because I can't tell if I am full or not. Still have this anesthesia gas inside and still trying to get it out. Drinking Protein Shake and creamed Soups. Haven't gotten all my Protein or Water in since surgery. Had surgery last Thursday and no complaints. I feel hunger pains, but really can't tell dif between hunger and gas.

Does anyone know if Do. E. Ortiz does the "sewing" over the staples? I don't know what is called but I have read that this is an extra precaution to avoid leaking. I have scheduled surgery with him on December 11th.

I will be there next week, but going to different doctor, different hospital. Havving surgery on the 11th.

Well I am scheduled for same day surgery with Dr. Ortiz on Dec11. Time is getting short. I read on a lot of different forums the positive experiences people have had with ALM. I only told my sister and my friend who is going with me. I did mention to two other friends the possibility of having weight-loss surgery and they were supportive but I never told them I made the arrangements or that I was actually going to do it. Have not told my parents or any other members of my family. They have just been observing that I have been trying to lose weight and have cut back on my eating. That was my plan for work as well. So when I start losing weight, it won't be much of a surprise. We shall see. Keep me in your prayers.

Im done, slept alot lately, and internet goes in and out here in Mexicio. Dr. Ortiz staff and a lighter me treated me excellent. I don't think I couldve gotten better attention elsewhere. The numbers are 2 nurses to 8 patients. Very happy to be feeling a little better. The first night was a little rough due to pain and gas. But last night I slept like a baby.

I am having surgery on the 11th. I have only told my sister and a friend. Don't want them to worry. I don't think the would approve, they are pretty old school.. So, I am "dieting". Will figure out Christmas when the time comes.

Well, I look forward to being a little colder when I get sleeved. I have a window air conditioner in my bedroom window, because the central air doesnt keep it cool enough for me. So maybe I will be able to retire it now. I am glad to know that you were able to eat a brownie/muffin/cake. I am going into this because I wanted to use my sleeve to assist me with my weight loss. To think that I would be deprived of something, made me unsuccessful at dieting.

Tried Protein Shake that was recommended and I really like. Premier Protein. Going to SAMs today to get a couple of 12 pks. Heard tastes changes after surgery, so I won't go overboard with buying a lot of stuff. Getting a little obsessive and reading as much as I can. Just can't wait to get it over with , so I can start this journey.

I know what you mean kc342. I thought it was only me. I am scheduled for December 11 with Dr. Ortiz in TJ. I only have a couple of people I can talk to about it because of the stigma of having surgery in Mexico. Never thought it would be a solution for me but didn't want to have to go through all the jumping through hoops to get insurance to approve and having to wait. I have become so obsessed with my surgery. I keep reading and reading and watching videos. I keep emailing questions to my coordinator, who is really nice and doesn't mind all my questions. I don't start preop til day after Thanksgiving, but I have been replacing one to two shakes a day, trying them out. Trying not to eat and drink at same time., drinking my Water, whew....can you sat that's rough going all the time?

I too have a Dec 11th date!!! Getting anxious and a little obsessed right now. Getting ready to start a modified diet until I have to start my preop diet, so that it won't be so bad. What have all y'all been doing to prepare. Going ween myself off my daily cup of coffee. No more soda, don't drink a lot of that anyway.
