  1. I was told not to concentrate on the calories two weeks out. The main focus was protein and water for healing. I was lucky to get in over 500 calories a day. Since I could only eat a tiny amount, I just made sure that it was high in protein.
  2. I still can't eat pork. It is so dense and even if I chew it to mush, it comes back up. Seafood, chicken, and beef....no problems. Beef was well after chicken, turkey, and seafood though.
  3. Sounds like you had the dream outcome so far! Best of luck to you and your continued success!
  4. Feeling guilty doesn't help. I felt guilty my whole life for eating the wrong things! There will always be special occasions, events, etc that you may eat something you shouldn't. They should be the exception, not the normal! Keep up the great work!
  5. Congrats and best of luck to all of you!!! It's a tough journey but WELL worth it, IMO!
  6. Congrats on the approval and this next step! Maybe he was just expressing his first gut reaction to his daughter having surgery? Once he knows the details and you start pre-op, he may change his mind and start being supportive. If not, we are all here for you! Best of luck to you
  7. Best of luck to you in whichever WLS you decide on! There are many options available now and you have plenty of time to find the one that is right for you!
  8. Congrats on your weight loss! The NSV's are the best!
  9. @evett @atontor @@OKCPirate @@tjstark @@laura4923 Thanks so much for the compliments! Good luck on your journey!
  10. I keep on track with high protein and low carb. My body seems to get stuck after a while of being in Ketosis. When I up my carbs and calories for a day, it seems to like it. There have been times when nothing changes the scale but my body did change. Stalls stink and sometimes nothing helps!
  11. A question is a question and not crazy at all! It is solely up to your doctor and hospital. I only had on a gown. I didn't care one way or the other, just was nervous and wanted it done!
  12. Just make sure they are "new tummy friendly". I wouldn't get too many of them though. After surgery, the kind you have may not agree with you and you may have to try another kind.
  13. Is that all you have in a day?? If so, then you may be starving yourself. You need to have enough calories so your body doesn't think it is starving. Be sure to drink plenty of Water also.
  14. You did it, admitted it, and now.....get back to what you know! (A little tough love) Actually, I do have more than my allotted carbs occasionally to shock my body. It has helped me along my journey.
  15. Yes, perfectly normal. It's called the dreaded three week stall. There are many posts on BP about it. My longest stall was 38 days. Just stick to your plan and stay away from the scale. It will move, on its own time!
  16. I had EKG and blood work done when I arrived. I had to fill out a pretty extensive health form prior to going. There were a couple of things he wanted clarification about and had questions about before approving me.
  17. @ Your transformation is amazing! One of my NSV's was to see "daylight" between my thighs. I see daylight in your picture!
  18. @@The Candidate Thank you so much, you made me blush!
  19. @@proudgrammy Thanks for the words of encouragement! I know maintenance will be a whole new world but I am up for the challenge!
  20. Keep up the good work, you are already on the road to success! Best of luck on the 6th and with your journey!
  21. @@AvaFern Thank you so much!
  22. @@Gumpgal Thank you for the kind words and yes, very happy! I wish you the best of luck in your journey
  23. Wonderful news! Keep up the great work!
  24. Me too! I have tried the other Nectars too but the lemon tea is the best. And if it is the thickness of the other Protein shakes, these may be a better option for you. I can't stand the thick shakes.
