  1. Eat SLOW, very SLOW and CHEW, CHEW, CHEW! I had the same problem initially and it was because I wasn't waiting long enough between bites, taking too large of a bite, and not chewing it until it was almost not there. After I learned that, it got much easier. Best of luck to you and hope it gets better soon.
  2. @@JamieLogical I get that same feeling. I feel like I need to burp but it feels like food is coming up with it. Bottom line, you learn to recognize when you are getting full. And if you think "I'll just have one more bite"......you end up regretting it!
  3. Welcome to the wonderful world of stalls. Like @@Tammylb said, they happen....regularly. Even when going through one, your body can change. I got stuck for almost three weeks at the same weight. During that time, my body shifted and I lost quite a few inches. Then one day, the scale started to move again and pounds started coming off. Just stick to your program and drink lots of water! Some people even suggest upping your calories so your body doesn't think it's starving. Good luck and best wishes!!!
  4. I went solo! Others being sleeved on the same day shared their support people with me and another solo patient. When I came back from surgery, I had several new friends make sure I was okay and got anything I needed. You will meet and make new friends while there.
  5. Amy, They kept my pain meds on a regular schedule while in the hospital so I didn't have any then. Once released (2 days post op), I had a little pain but I think it was gas pains. The more I walked, the better it got. My incision areas were sore but not painful.
  6. I used eye makeup remover, did the trick for me
  7. You look great. I feel the same way when I look in the mirror. I never noticed I was putting on 5, 10, 15, etc pounds but I look and expect to notice when I have lost 2! Others say I look much smaller but I still don't see a HUGE change. Keep up the good work, you DO look smaller!
  8. I had some pain there and in my shoulder. Gas X strips and walking were the best thing for me. The more I walked, the less I had discomfort.
  9. Mine said "whenever you feel up to it"! It actually happened right after the first week. As long as you aren't doing anything wild and crazy, there is no discomfort.
  10. Congrats and such a great reward! I agree with @@Babbs about the jars....adorable and you can see them every day.

  12. I went alone too. I was scared to death but as soon as I was picked up at the airport, I made friends with the others in the van. We supported each other and their support people kept checking on me too! We walked around together at the hotel and the hospital. Everyone else there with you is nervous and scared too! Good luck to you.
  13. Great job!!! Can't wait to join you in that mystical world!
  14. Best of luck to you. It isn't an easy journey but sooooooo worth it. Talk to everyone and you will get all the support you need from the great people on this site. We've all been there with you!
  15. How great, CONGRATS!!! Hope to see you in Onederland soon!
  16. Congrats to you! One goal at a time, then they are so much more manageable. I just hit that magic half way point and I was so excited. Keep up the great work and take time too celebrate when you get half way!
  17. You both look great!! Congrats on your losses!
  18. I am 55 pounds down and made a trip to Goodwill like many others. I also took two large bags of too large clothes with me to donate. I bought two or three pants in current size and two sizes smaller. I also bought shirts in medium and large. My 3&2 XLs started looking ridiculous on me! Can now easily wear XL and some larges. But I got everything at a great price so I don't mind only using them for a short time!
  19. Plain water tasted so bad to me after surgery. It took several weeks before I could tolerate it again. People looked at me like I was crazy when I said that water tasted awful!
  20. Had my surgery on 11/16. I hit the dreaded stall and it lasted about two weeks! During the stall, things shifted on my body and my size changed but not the scale. Now loss is slow but a little every day. Just keep up the protein and water! The scale will move again....everyone goes through it
  21. I had my surgery with Dr. Elias Ortiz. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him, the hospital staff, and the staff of Alighterme! My insurance would only pay for lapband or full gastric bypass (neither I wanted), so I chose Mexico and self-pay. All of my follow-up care has been done by my primary care doctor and I was given my complete surgical records from Dr. Ortiz. I traveled alone but when I was picked up at the airport, the van was full of other patients having surgery the same day. We quickly became friends and still keep in touch regularly!
  22. Hi everyone! I am in Lithia (east of Tampa) here. Hope you are all doing well.
  23. I did! It seems like it took my bladder a long time to wake up. Others were going all the time but I was only going like twice a day. It for better about three days later.
  24. So glad to hear you are doing well. When you discharge and go back to the hotel, don't try to do too much. We went shopping and I was absolutely exhausted and wished I hadn't gone. In the beginning, just doing a little tires you out.
  25. Made it home okay. It took a lot out of me. I was so very tired but I also had a long trip. Today is much better though!
