Elaine Sunday got a reaction from NavyMom2006 in What Causes Appetite Loss after WLS?
I was sleeved on 10/9/14. I still get hungary, but food makes me hurt now. I get very full fast ( 3 oz) and most foods give me a pain in my esophagus and stomach. I can handle 3 oz of cottage cheese, but most foods are uncomfortable for me. So, I am better off just having a taste and walk away.
I did poach salmon and learned to chew chew chew. I thought taking 30 minutes to eat 3 oz was ridiculous, But honestly, I have to chew so much it takes me close to 30 to eat a meal.

I had the sleeve Oct 9th. I am on a frustrating stall. I was told I should lose 30 lbs the first month. I am down 17 lbs and 7 days from month 1. i don't see me losing 13 lbs in 7 days.
I am still a week away before my next stage of pureed foods. I am really getting bored with the same foods every day.
For those who have reached your 5th week, what are you eating? I have never poached fish before, how do you do that.
I am married and haven't fixed a meal in over a month. Hard to cook and smell the food when I can only have 3 oz of pureed.< /p>
    Help.

Elaine Sunday got a reaction from BellaLuce4 in I was told I had surgery to get attention
wls to me was very stressful. The test you have to go thru in order to get it, plus having a part of you amputated, was very hard for me. If I wanted to get attention, I could find hundreds of other ways to get it. Sounds like your spouse is insecure and jealous of the attention you will be getting. Ignore her , you get was to get healthier. And the attention…well, thats an added bonus.

I am 59 and had the sleeve on Oct, 9th. I am 17 lbs down since surgery. For the most part, this has been easy. Although I did have a few pity parties. HINT: don't go to the movies lol the smell of hot buttered popcorn really set me off. Made me really crave food. Yes, there were a couple of days that i was sorry I had the surgery. But the pity party is over and 3 weeks later, I am happy I had it. I could picture myself past the Water stage. Well, guess what, I got past it and have one week to go on puree foods, Thursday I will be able to start soft foods. Then, 2 weeks past that, I will be on regular foods.
Trust me, it does get better….and look at these post. Hundreds of people had w l s and got past the hardest part. If they did it,,we can also.
I drink Premeir Protein. I like it. I found I actually crave it. As a bonus, you can heat the chocolate one up and have hot chocolate. Perfect for this time of year. i am having one now. Its a great way to help get your protein in.
Good Luck and remember, you can do this.

I was off 1 1/2 weeks. The surgery was nothing. In fact, when the surgeon came in to see me the following morning, I accused her of not doing anything to me. I felt no pain what so ever. (I had the sleeve). The only side affect I had was, I was tired. But that has to do with any type of surgery. I do have a desk job, so that did make it easier. I felt guilty taking any more time off knowing I didn't need it.

Elaine Sunday got a reaction from Alex Brecher in Coming Out of the Weight Loss Surgery Closet: What, Whether, Why, and How
I didn't tell people for a long time that I was going to have the surgery (sleeve). I felt like a failure to have to resort to surgery to lose weight. My surgeon and 2 other medical drs have explained to me that my body has lost the ability to lose weight, no matter what I did. Also being on insulin made it just about impossible to lose. It wasn't until right before surgery that I felt ok to finally talk about it.
Last night, I went to my sisters house, gave all the kids a mini cake for Halloween. My 13 yr old niece ate her cake, made a sandwich, ate that, then fixed mac and cheese, All within 45 minutes. I joked with her and said, woow watch out or You will need was. She looked at me and said, "well, I am sure I will have more motivation then you did." Well that was a slap in my face. I get it, she is only 13 and don't know what its like, but made me think that thats how society will see me. Not a happy thought.
