  1. I had my surgery January 17, 2008 and I have lost 25 lbs which feels sooooooo good. I have lost my motivation but will soon have my third fill on Tuesday so I hope that helps. I have been able to eat what ever I want and I stopped paying attention to the band rules. HELP! I don't want to have done this for nothing. I am stressed right now and finding it hard to resist snacking. I hope my fill on Tuesday will reign me back in so I can't eat as much. :rolleyes2:

  3. Hi Michelle I was surfing this site looking for info on fills in Houston area and found your post though it is old. I hope you can help me. I am vacationing in Texas right now from Canada. I had surgery January 17/08 and one fill the end of Feb before we left for Louisiana. Does the doctor you mentioned still do $100 fills? Do you know an email address or phone number for him? Thankyou. Lynda Wood
  4. Hi Lori I was trying to find your phone number to tell you I wasn't going to the lunch today. I finally found it and left you a message. I see you online so I guess you didn't go either. How are you? Lynda P/s new user name for me "living my dream"
  5. Hi Carla I had my surgery January 17 and I have been having trouble with hunger. I pushed the limits on the diet restrictions some of the time and I am afraid I might have stretched my pouch. I don't feel anything is wrong. I have some restriction and feel full sooner so that's good. I have my first fill next Tuesday so wish me luck. How are you doing now? Lynda:scared2:
  6. Hi Marcar Thanks for asking. I am feeling great since my surgery. I have lost 16 lbs so far but I need my first fill so I'm not hungry. I am trying to eat like a bandster. My first fill is Feb 20 then we are going south the end of Feb for two months so I will miss my second and third fills. Where do you live and what is your name? I live in Ameliasburg near Belleville. Tell me about yourself. When were you banded? I may have read that but I forget. Pm me back soon. Lynda
  7. I am new to this and not very savy at navigating this site. I am getting better though. I just had my band surgery last Thursday and am wondering about fill dr's in Louisiana. Did I see you live in Louisiana? I live in Ontario but we are going to Louisiana the end of Feb so I will miss my 2cnd and 3rd fills unless I can find someone to do it down there. I wonder how much money too. I have free fills here. Have you had your surgery? Lynda
  8. I'm banded! I had my surgery yesterday and I was so nervous. Everything went well and there is not much discomfort, mostly gas. I am sipping water and light cranberry juice but I'm hungry. I have lost 8 lbs with the pre-op diet. When can I eat something? a week? My doctor says 4 days of clear fluids then 7 days of full fluids. What fluid will help with my hunger? Hugs to all of you getting banded this month. We're on our way.
  9. Hi I'm curious how you went from 5'10 to 6'0????????????????
  10. Hi I am being banded Jan 17 and will have only time for one fill here in Ontario before we head south to Louisiana the end of February. I am looking for a fill doctor near Rayne or New Orleans area. Anyone know of one? Is there a list of doctors that do fills in USA? Thanks, Lynda
  11. Hi Kelly I am getting banded on Jan 17. I have only told two people and don't plan on telling others because I don't want to deal with their comments. I weigh 238 lbs my all time high and I am ready to do something drastic. I am going to focus one day at a time on what I am supposed to eat or do. I am afraid of failing like I have so many diets before. I'll be going through the same thing in 10 days. I have to think positive. You have to think positive too. You need to care about yourself and do this for yourself. You can do it. Focus on other things besides food (our favourite friend for a long time). Go for a walk, take a long bubble bath, visit a friend, buy something non food ie a new nail polish. Start talking positive to yourself inside your head - I can do this, I can do this, ... Keep posting. There are lots of successful bandsters on this site. Lynda soon to be banded too
  12. It is the day after New Year's. I finally got the blood work done on Saturday and the ECG. I need to get the xray done asap. I don't want anything to stop me from my Jan 17 surgery date. Carl and I reapplied for the medical insurance. I was pre-approved last time but now Carl applied too. He is anxious about the money. We can get the surgery for $15, 000 each if he books soon. Carl will have to wait til May because of his sleep apnea and heart problems it has to be done in the hospital. We are going south late February for 2 months so I want to be banded and one fill by then. We had our second grandchild, a boy, born on Christmas day. Very exciting. I better phone the medical insurance company today.:paranoid

  14. Hi Thanks for doing a list. I counted 54 of us to be banded in January. I am so excited to be on my way to a new me. This website is great! I wander if I will be able to eat popcorn post surgery????? Anyone know?? I'll have to update my information about nutrition and what to and not to eat once I start my journey. Lynda:glasses
  15. <br /> <br /> Hi Doddie<br /> I can't remember if I replied to this post already or not. How do you get fills out West? How are things going with you? I can't wait to get started.<br /> Lynda <img src="http://www.LapBandTalk.com/images/smilies/happy.gif" border="0" alt="" title="" smilieid="60" class="inlineimg" />
  16. Hi Dolphin I can relate to your concerns. I feel like I have been fighting my weight all my life and it just keeps getting worse. I have tried so many diets and spent so much money only to regain it and more. As for worrying about your marriage, I told my husband I wanted to do this and he was so mad. I told him I was doing it anyway, it's my body. Now he is supporting me and I am trying to convince him to do lapband surgery too. Where do you live? I live in Belleville, Ontario. Have you booked surgery yet? Mine is now finally booked - January 17. I am worried it won't work for me either. Lynda :phanvan
  17. Hi I was so excited to see your post about TLBC. I just booked my lapband surgery for January 17. I hope I am as successful as you have been. I can't seem to stop eating right now. Lynda :hungry:
  18. I finally booked my surgery for January 17, 2008. I am anxious to get started. I finally convinced my husband that it is a good idea. I want him to have surgery too. He is seriously thinking about it. He has to have his surgery done in hospital because of sleep apnea and heart problems. He so needs to get himself healthy with me. I am still eating like there is no tomorrow. I hope I can get started. Maybe when I have to focus on the one week pre-op diet. Let me see. What things will I not miss about being fat.... feeling embarassed when I go out in public because I am so overweight worrying about what to wear to special things I go to like my neice's 30th birthday and another neice's wedding reception having to shop in fat people stores for bigger and bigger sizes feeling uncomfortable bending over to put on shoes, cut my toe nails, ... eating until I am so uncomfortable and bloated I hate myself getting out of breath climbing stairs, carrying heavy things, dancing, ... hating having my picture taken hating wearing a bathing suit or shorts always hiding my fatness behind clothes, etc. avoiding the scale avoiding going to the doctor because of my weight finding it harder and harder to fit into chairs, rides at Canada's Wonderland, seatbelts, ... feeling negative about myself because I have no will power to stop eating dreaming of wearing all the smaller sizes in my closet holding on to clothes of all sizes in my closet in case I lose weight so my closet is bulgingI hope this is the miracle I have been wishing for and that I can make it come true. I have to love me again and care about me and how I look. a month to go til my surgery

  21. Hi Just wandering around the site reading and trying to figure out how to do this. Interesting! I am a newbie and have lots to learn. I know I'm coming in part way through existing threads and conversations but who is Ambyr?
  22. Hi Paul Sorry I will try to remember your name. We have a consult on Nov 27 but my other meeting may be cancelled so I'll have to wait and see.
  23. Hi Lorie and Peter (?) I'm not sure if I got your husband's name right. It was awesome to meet you and chat. Your husband must be hope36ca? Guess what? My husband is thinking about it. Andddddd I finally got my ticker up on this site. :whoo: I got help from another bandster. Unfortunately our finances are not working in a positive direction right now so we have to wait. :think Please keep in touch. Lynda (and Carl) Wood
  24. Hi Heather I've been trying to do both of those and can't either. Lynda

You're on the right track. You need to do this for yourself asap. My husband had his second heart attack in May and his weight is creeping up again. He needs lapband too. He is also diabetic.
