I have been going to a doctor on the other side of New Orleans, it is 2 hours from Mobile where I live. Dr. Mando. He charges 180.00 but no floro. He and his nurse Sylvia are both real nice.

Hey, you sound just like I did finding someone. It was a pain. Finally I got a name of a doctor in Kenner, La. Wagih Mando, phone is 504-464-8619. The person that told me about him has been twice for fills and I have been once. He does not use floro but hits it the first time. I really liked him and his office staff. I am going to him again first week in June. He charges $185.oo. He is in one of the Oshner hospitals on Esplanade west. Let me know how it goes if you go to him. Cheryl

I had my first fill of 1cc a week ago, still no difference. Does it take longer to make a difference? If not, I guess I will have fill #2.

My doctor only gave me 1cc and I have not been able to tell the difference. It has been one week, still can eat any and all I want.:huytsao

Dr. Avera in Ocean Springs 228-872-7277 but he charges $550.00 first visit and then $400.00 per fill. Dr. Hausman and group in Baton Rouge, they charge from 325.00 to $350.00 225-769-5028 which I went to for my first fill a few days ago. They just dont offer any aftercare besides fills. I am looking everyday to find someone that can give support besides the fills. I will let you know what I find. Oh, I live in Mobile, Al. Cheryl

I had planned on an aftercare doc after I have my surgery in TJ, but when I had the money to pay them for a fill, I found out that their lawyers are deciding on wheather or not to take other docs patients. I called my second choice and low and behold, now they arent seeing other doctors patients. So, the first doctor I came to that would see me I made an appointment with. $325...Fill with no floro, he offered no nutritional advise or even what to eat after a fill. He is 3 hours away from me. I live in Mobile, Al so I can go to Panhandle of Florida, Mississippi or Louisiana. We get cheap airflights from here to Houston, but then I have to stay overnight and a taxi. HELP!!!! I know there has to be someone out there!!!

Can all who have given prices tell me if you had surgery elsewhere besides the doctor who does you fills and what town you are having them done? Thanks, Cabux

I live in Mobile, 1 hour away. Are you getting fills in your area. I have not been yet, just banded 2-16. Was thinking of going to Covington, La which is an hour and a half away. He charges 1000.00 for a year, and you have to go to a diet class and have an upper gi. Were you self pay, I am. Wouldnt mind going to P'cola, it would be closer but have not heard of any doctors over there yet. Cheryl

I have heard that Dr. Thomas Lavin in Covington will do them. 1000.00 for a years worth, plus you have to go to a diet class and bring them an upper gi. cheryl

Some how I missed that I would be having the shoulder pain. Yep, it hurt, worse that the band insisions. Dr. Kelly said to keep on top of your pain meds. My pain was in upper left, so lying on my right side with my left arm stretched over my head seemed to help. Also, sitting upright and not leaning against the back of the bed. It took about 6 days for my to really go away. It seemed like the area got smaller, even though pain was at same level. Hope you do well. Cheryl

I am almost at my first week anniversary! Doing well, hungry alot today for some reason. Waiting is hard, but it is over before you know it, then it waiting to get thru the clear liquid stage. Wonderful! You guys will do great! Cheryl

Banded last week 2-16-07! After thinking about it for a year, and then really doing research for a few months, I cant believe that it is over! I actually had it done! doing great so far. Just love that clear liquid diet! Cheryl

I got banded on 2-16-07 in Mexico by Dr. Ramos Kelly. Am at home and so far doing well. I am checking on a doc from Covington, La for fills, Dr. Thomas Lavin. Anyone heard of him? Cheryl
