  1. They gave me mine in the hospital when I had my surgery.
  2. @@txgirl82 No I didn't take any meds before surgery. Are you talking about actually Dr prescribed medications or your vitamins? If you are taking Dr prescribed meds then NO dont stop taking medications unless your told to do so. I don't know what kind of medications your taking but some can be made into a liquid by the pharmacist you will Have to discuss that with your DR and see if you have a different option. Some medications can NOT be crushed and then taken. Now, if your talking about vitamins yes I take chewable vitamins and biotin. I don't have any swallowing issues.
  3. @@txgirl82 Nope I just drink it as is. I don't know why but it's easier for me to drink than water! I drink my water but it takes 4-EVER!!!
  4. @@Go4itLori I do travel nursing and I can tell you MN is THE coldest state I have ever drove through! I was on my way to WI and stopped for gas.....ridiculously cold! WI was cold too just not as. My next contract was Hawaii...it's not cold there lol!
  5. @@emilees_mom Oh then we are pretty much neighbors
  6. I burp a lot too! It's so flattering I hope it will go away eventually.
  7. I'm outside of Springfield. You?
  8. Wow that is fast! I have to wait 3 weeks too! I don't know if I should say your lucky or not....oh but to answer your question are you sure your really hungry or could it be head hunger? Maybe try to drink more fluids.
  9. @@txgirl82 Are you on clear liquids? I drank/drink the premier protein ready-made shakes. I use to like them all but after surgery 11/4 I only like the chocolate. I can drink 2 a day now. In the first few days I was only allowed the isopure clears and I drank coconut water for the hydration.
  10. Oh I know it's cold here in Missouri too. Hot baths are the best!
  11. I took my first one 9 days after surgery. All my incisions where closed and pretty much healed. Of course I completely Bleached my bath tub first...germ phobia lol!
  12. @@*Lexie* Yay! I'm glad it's good I saw that last week. I'm saving the recipe for when I can eat that kinda thing. Thank you for taking the time to let us know how it turned out.
  13. @@Beautiful Mess Oh that's a good idea
  14. My surgery went smoothly! I was in pain when I came to but they got me on some meds fast and that was better. I had nausea the 2 days in the hospital but only when I got up to pee..ect. I have a full bottle of nausea med I have never had to use since leaving the hospital. The first 3 days home were a little rough I'm not going to lie but once my surgeon upped my pain pills to oxycodone I was a-ok!! I stopped taking them at about 5-6 days. I haven't had any issues with foods or fluids it just takes time To get it all in. I have no hunger. I think the 14 day pre-op really prepared me for that! I took my drain out after 7 days (best thing EVER) and staples came out last week I take everything day by day, I don't live on the scale only weigh on Mondays. I'm down 28 lbs in 29 days so happy about that of course(including my Pre-op) I am ready and prepared for the plateau so I may not even weigh for the next 2 weeks just to avoid the stress.....keep it a "surprise" . If I could give some advice to a newbie I would say 1: make sure you have orders for all the meds you will need BEFORE leaving the hospital...ask about pain pills, anti nausea meds, anti-acids, your Dr may or may not prescribe them routinely ASK don't wait until you are sick and hurting! You may not even need them but then again you may! 2: surround your self with a good support system if possible. It's very possible to do it on your own but it helps to have people in your corner (like us) and last but not least: even when it's hard and maybe starts to suck remember the feeling You have now and how bad you really want this, why you wanted this, and have limitless goals! Don't underestimate yourself Or your body's potential. Don't stress! Your body has been through a lot, allow your body to heal Be patient, do what your suppose to do and eventually you will succeed Good luck!
  15. Send her to my house I have lots of things she can do!!!! I want to just lay around! Dang!
  16. I use pam's organic olive oil spray , and coconut oil when I have to but I have a really good skillet that usually doesn't require anything. Depending on that I'm cooking I may also use REAL butter.
  17. @@nprcowboy It beats the heck out of rewarming every 5 mins!
  18. @@sarahkaj Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. Will your surgeon give you a b-12 shot to help with energy? Do you have an order for nausea medicine and an Anti-acid? It sounds like you could benefit from all that. Do you have a day that you can just sleep. If your surgeon will allow you to have an over the counters sleep aid like zzzquil maybe you could get a good sleep so your body can catch up? I hope you start feeling better
  19. @@mommyoftwogirls My insurance had a surgery date for me that I had never heard of. I think it's just something the Drs do to submit the paper work. The date they had was not the date I was actually scheduled for. It would Have been the same situation I wouldn't have had enough time to do a 2 week pre-op diet. So I wouldn't worry about that particular date. They want to get the insurance company moving on a decision.
  20. I learned today that I can use my candle warming plate to keep my tiny bowls and plates warm when I eat....since it takes me FOREVER to eat????! Glass not plastic! I also use my heating pad I bought for the hospital and never used.
  21. I see my glad plug-in in there!⭐
