  1. Hello Everyone

You all are such a FABULOUS SUPPORTIVE Group. I don't post often, but I try to get in here and see what everyone is up to. You all are looking AMAZING!! I have learned so much in this group. I had a horrible stall that seemed to last for weeks. I saw a post and I can't remember who posted but it recommended increasing Protein above the required amount according to your pre surgery weight. Whoever posted that, you are my SHERO!! It has made a world of difference for me. I increased Protein last week and the scale has moved 7 pds!!!! I also had my 6 month appt yesterday. I am now down 105 pds. I have quite a way to go because when I started this journey I was 330 pds. I'm feeling awesome and I am so encouraged by each of you. Thanks for sharing your stories, highs and lows they are greatly appreciated. Here is a pic of me pre surgery and yesterday at the Dr. yesterday.

  2. Sorry you're feeling so awful Beni. I hope you feel better soon and that your pouch calms down. I haven't had what you have described but I am so nauseated right now. I went to the gym this morning and I felt great. I came home and took my multi Vitamin and within ten minutes I was vomiting and I'm feeling horrible. I'm wondering if it was because I didn't eat before taking my Vitamins. This hasn't been an issue in the past, but I want to find out the cause and never do whatever made me feel so awful again!!!!

  3. @@Bronxmerci I'm praying for you. As the days and weeks progress, hopefully you'll get stronger and stronger and the Buyers Remorse will decrease. You've been in a lot of pain and had some very unique circumstances but you did all of this for a reason. Eventually you'll be healthy and able to run and play with your son like never before. It is then that you'll be able to realize that every complication was worth the smile on his face and the excitement you'll feel at that moment. Sending hugs and positive vibes your way!!❤️❤️????????

  4. I stopped taking my pain meds after being home after about 3 days. I continue to take Tylenol if needed and it works Great. I honestly felt better after I stopped taking the narcotic pain meds. I think they had more side effects for me. I hope you feel better soon.

  5. Hello Everyone,

Today I went for my one week post op appointment. I am so happy to have the drain out! Yes it hurt, felt weird and it still seems very strange. Good news since starting the pre op diet I am down 30 pounds. I'm Happy about that progress!!

  6. @@tacycakes I think making a call to your Dr. is the best option. Even if he determines that it's gas or something simple, it resolves your issue and provides you with piece of mind. I agree with others that I was prescribed something for acid build up in my pouch. I didn't take it as prescribed one day and I began to have pain. When I realized it was omitted and took it, I felt much better. This may be the issue you are having. This is only speculation, therefore call your surgeon and get a REAL answer. Praying that all goes well. Keep us posted.

  7. Good for the most part, over the weekend and post surgery I was pushing it like super woman, even went to the zoo on Sunday. Starting yesturday and this morning I'm starting to realize I overdid it greatly, I'm exhausted and just overall not feeling well. At the same time I'm trying to cut back on the pain med to 1/2 and that's giving me some issues. So im in the process of learning to take it easy. As my boyfriend said to me yesturday " you had major surgery, sleep baby" I just hate not doing anything.

I started reducing my pain meds also, but I'm using Tylenol instead of the prescribed meds for pain. Have you tried that or are you just doing without pain meds altogether?

  8. Yeah, I definitely gained 8 pounds of IV Fluid after my hospital stay (that's a full gallon of water!). It's like they send you home with extra Fluid because they know it's so difficult to get your Water in for the first few days.

Also - I just put up a new blog post up @ http://superbariatricbabe.blogspot.com

Your blog is absolutely hilarious. I've been thinking the same thing about the person that is returning to work within one week!!! LOVED IT!!!

  9. @@layknee So Thankful that the children are doing ok. I really hope you consider going back to the hospital. That impact and all of the adrenaline may take a toll in you. Your body has experienced a lot of trauma lately. Maybe if you contact the surgeon's office about the issues you're having now he can actually get you in a room and get you some fluids for a while and give you a thorough look over. Hope everything starts working out soon. I TOTALLY understand your need to still be able to take care of your children and recuperate. Kudos to you, but slow down a little if you can!!

  10. I probably over did it. I had two gowns (more like long night shirts) and used both. I used the underwear and I am so thankful that I took sports bras! I used my own toiletries. I also took some skid resistant house shoes. They came in handy for my many walks. Surprisingly I only used my phone, I didn't use my iPad.

  11. I so understand what you are talking about @@Jyoyonomore! I decided that I was strong enough to go grocery shopping yesterday. So while my Husband was at work I had my Mom take me. She kept trying to get me to use the motorized cart, but I told her my goal was to get some extra walking in. I did pretty good but after I got home I started feeling an unusual pain in my abdomen. I started looking at incisions and becoming panicked because I've been feeling pretty good. Then I realized while trying to get dressed and prepared for my shopping trip I failed to take my nausea med and the acid reducer. I sat down and tool both of those and all was well in the world!!! I agree don't forget those meds. I haven't taken a pain pill in about two days but I won't forget those two again!
