Here we are.... now what?!
I'm ten months out and 10 to thirty pounds from my personal goal. I will never make"normal" weight for my height as I feel it's too thin. I eat lower carbs higher protein, my weight loss has slowed down a lot ,but I'll get there. Figure will make ten pounds loss by July.

Apathy anyone? Lately having trouble with job motivation. You too? Suggestions?
I think that even going to pre-op counseling many of us are still unprepared for the food issues that continue to crop up.

How to Choose Between Band and Sleeve
The band wasn't a choice for me. It wasn't offered at the hospital I was having surgery at. I picked the sleeve, because Ididn't want a piece of my stomach hanging around if it wasn't being used. I also didn't want to deal with dumping and with the chance of serious nutritional issues. The sleeve has worked very well for me I've lost ninety pounds in the last year, sixty since the surgery, while I'm still considered obese, I went from a BMI of 50 to a BM I of 33. I still have ten pounds to go before I hit my surgeons goal.

Hungry
I've been craving Protein this week and am just hungry all the time. I am making sure that I'm eating enough protein, but I am still hungry constantly. I am almost ten months out so that may have something to do with it.

Welcome to the Popular Diet Forum!
I just keep my protein at 60 grams or more my calories under 1200 and my carbs under 120 grams. I do eat some bread, but most of my carbs are from fruit and veg. I lose weight fairly slowly with this, but I am losing. This is also easy to do. I count my calories on my fitness pal. I also try to exercise 5times a week.

For the first time in my life, I don't have a weight problem...BUT...
Congratulations. Even with the sleeve some of us are still going to be considered over weight or even obese. Even after an 87 pound loss I am still listed as obese, however my BmI was once 49. Now it's 33 and with 13 pounds to go for my goal I'll go from obese to overweight. I'll take it. My message before I got sidetracked was, it's ok. To be excited about your loss. Don't worry about the others.

Man did u have to pay!
I think eventually you will be able to eat watermelon. I was sleeved nine months ago and can eat fruit. I also eat vegetables and some carbs. My diet plan says to eat at least sixty grams of carbs and less than 140 grams of carb.. Also sixty grams of protein or more. I haven't lost weight quickly with this ,but steadily. So I have lost a total of eighty seven pounds in the past year. Fifty seven pounds in the last nine months.

There may not be much you can do. My hair also got thin about four months out. I'm about nine months out and it is pretty much back to normal. So keep taking vitamins and be patient, it should grow back.

The things I miss about being fat!
I don't miss a lot about being 80 pounds heavier. I do miss having a wrinkle free neck. I can still sleep on my side, in fact I like to sprawl, so I do that even better.

Made me chuckle...
Well, I don't know about flute playing Angels, but thinking of this as a life style change rather than a diet is the way to go.

Hair loss hair cuts!
I got so sick of seeing long strands of hair in the drain and seeing it visibly thin that I got a pixie cut. Which I absolutely love, and even though my hair is growing back I plan on keeping it short. I also dyed it red.

Meal help needed!
I usually make a crock pot meal on Sunday. My son and I eat it Sunday night and then I eat the rest for lunches during the week. I also eat a lot of eggs, chicken, meatballs, fish, cottage cheese roast veggies and yogurt. These can all be quickly prepared.

Dumping and sleeve
I don't have dumping with sugar, although will feel nauseous and generally yucky if I eat too much. I have vomited twice after eating tough meat. And will get stomach cramps. So I try to avoid tough meat, and stick to ground chicken or pork, fish and crock pot roasts and pulled pork type things.
