I want to give feedback on sleevers and dumping.... Does it happen? What has been your experience with this?

I'll speak to after the first 6 months since you're still finding what foods agree up to that point. I'm a year and 1/2 post op and if over do it on sugar, yes, it's gonna be ugly. One cookie, (even a good sized one like from Panera) or one doughnut or real butter on my popcorn, is okay worked into my day around high Protein choices, but bake a batch of home made frosted sugar Cookies, and eat 5 over the course of the day, (really bad idea anyway)... sh!+ is gonna go down. Literally. It lasts for hours and it hurts like hell. I've learned to look at being a bit "sugar sensitive" as a blessing, much like the restriction the sleeve provides. Like over eating, it's just not worth it. I can eat whatever I like in small quantities, (bread, Pasta, salad and even sweet treats). As long as I'm smart, it's all good.

I haven't experienced it at all. I'm just over 6 months post op and I've tried pretty much every kind of food at this point, including cookies, cakes, and ice cream.

I have experienced it with a piece of deep fried fish. Within 30 minutes I started feeling dizzy, sweating and nauseous. It was horrible and scary. I will be eight months sleeved 4/1. I also had greasy French fries. Never again! I still don't always make the perfect choices. However I never want to feel like that again! My sleeve and I are still getting to know another! I'm 4 months out and I've had some bad feelings when I've taken "just one more bite." And a few foods that my sleeve just doesn't like, but unfortunately, sweets don't bother me. I've had some and am more tolerant than I wish I were. I wish they made me sick because they are my weakness. It's the only reason I'm slightly regretting choosing sleeve over RNY.

Not a single episode for me and I'm 7mths out. No dumping at all. I had 1 episode where I ate Soup for lunch a month out from surgery and I felt horrible, I think it was the liquid in the soup that put me over the top fullness wise....but nothing came up and nothing came out. I have no issues at all with sugar or greasy food. I don't eat much of either but they don't hurt me at all.

I found eating quite a bit of onion, green pepper and tomato fresh in a salad just was too much for me. I am 2 months out on the gastric sleeve. Most things don't seem to bother me and I forget to test eating in a small amount first. Trouble is the diarhea continues several times before I get it to stop. Anyone else have that problem?

sounds weird, but unfortunately nothing bothers my guts.... except for people. I wish I would physically be intolerant to certain foods, it would make it harder to cave in to cravings and junk...

4 months out - No problem with dumping at all. What I have encountered is either eating too much and/or eating too fast and then I get very uncomfortable and a lot of gas builds up and I start belching. Once I get to the point when the belching subsides a little, I'll chew a couple of Tums and the horrible discomfort is eventually alleviated. Key for me: very small bites, very slowly, and no more than about 1/2 cup per meal.

I'm three months post-surgery. Recently noticed I can't eat too much sugar at one time. No extreme feelings. Just kind of nauseated. But last night, I had ice cream. Have maybe had ice cream twice since surgery. Last night I had little more than I had in past. Felt very nauseated for an hour and ended up vomiting, which is only time I've vomited since surgery.

I'm 2 months out and have had the "bubble guts" twice now after eating frozen yogurt with nuts and then again with my first romaine salad. It lasted about 8 hours and was horrible but because I love salad and yogurt so much I of course tried them both again anyway. Second time around for both didn't bother me at all, thank God!

Still afraid to try deserts (sugar) after reading so many other people have reactions. I'm also afraid to try them and have no reaction and want them often...????

I had a donut ... then came the worst cramping for about half an hour and then a visit to the toilet with more pain. I also drank and apple and guava juice and about 15 mins later, no pain, but trip to the toilet where it all came gushing out. Not pleasant but safe to say I wont ever touch either of those things again! My suggestion would be when you try something new make sure you're home or have access to a toilet - quick! Haha

I am 2 months post and I haven't experienced dumping. But I don't have a lot of sugar cravings either, only when Aunt Flo comes around. Even so, nutella and m & m went down fine. I guess it is different for everyone.

The issue I do have is, waiting to long to eat, then I am so hungry that I practically scarf my first few bites and then it happens. I gets "stuck". The pressure one feels sucks bad , and so then I toss it up to feel better.

Suggestion, don't stray from your diet. If you must have something, have it in very small quantity. But just remember, it is empty unnutritional food. It will give your body no energy. Energy and fat burning is all we need.

I do say this.... don't trust a fart.

Sugar free food have never set well worth me more so since surgery. 10min in its coming out. I haven't gotten to try much since I'm only 11 days out but since most of the stuff on the list this week are sugar free I'm pretty screwed lol

It's funny my physician assistant says"well you don't have dumping with gastric sleeve surgery" I invited to spend the day with me.

2 years post. I don't have dumping. Kind of wish I did to stay in check.
