    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

Found a really useful link for diet issues. Here it is http://www.bariatric-surgery-source.com/bariatric-diet.html#Long-term_Bariatric_Diet. Also every doctor has different guidelines it seems - I looked at many sample diets. Some doctors are more conservative and keep patients on purees longer. I can post the sample diets if anyone would like to see them. I was daring and rushed through the stages a little. My NUT and nurse were okay with that and said just try each new food one at a time. My sleeve can handle almost anything but everyone is very different. Trial and error.

Celebrating Belly bgone! So far I admit this hasn't been an easy journey but everyday I Celebrate how much easier everything is with 8 inches of bellyfat gone in just 6 weeks !! Clothes fit better - I can breathe easier - I can bend over and tie my shoes - I no longer look like I'm carrying twins at 9 months ---it just feels so good! Looking forward to losing alot more!! Also focusing on inches instead of weight only is helping me keep perspective (especially those days when the scale isn't moving).

@@Kathy812 If it wasn't for My Fitness Pal - I wouldn't have the patience to track all my calories and Protein etc. It is really a great tool-highly recommend trying it. Also it's nice that you can share logs with friends to see how they are doing. Well, even though I am eating alot of calories, I still seem to be averaging about 3 lbs a week weight loss so I guess I should be happy with that. Maybe because I keep my carbs below 30 grams a day. If you decide to join My Fitness Pal - add me as a friend and I'll share my food diary .

@trvlgrl Glad to hear I am not alone in my struggles with hunger and food!! I hear that most people don't even think about eating in the first 3 -4 months. If you are on My Fitness Pal - and want to share info my user name is estipo.

@peek.. I have only lost 21 since surgery (10/8) - was 116 . (almost six weeks out now). As mentioned I have been eating alot so I need to exercise more I guess. My nutritionist said just keep thinking about your TOTAL loss - to keep you encouraged. It's a long road ahead. I added you as a friend on MBP..

To My Fitness Pall subscribers - I didn't realize we could add people to view our accounts. My logon is estipo if anyone is interested. I didn't keep up with it until the last 3 weeks or so (I'm 6 weeks out). Unlike others who have posted - my issue is that I am almost always hungry and can eat anything !! Nutritionist and Nurse said that everyone is different - I have a very forgiving sleeve. I am worried though because I can eat up to 800 calories a day - but I am still losing (although slowly). Hi sleevers ! Regarding going back to work - I waited 3 weeks and now 6 weeks out - I am still not at the energy levels that I hoped. I am a school teacher. I think it really depends on your job, your age, your intake of calories etc. and your general health. I was a major couch potato. Now I'm walking and taking dance lessons (cha cha cha!) so I thought that would up my energy but it really hasn't. Regarding calories - I have had no problem with eating since day 1 and average about 500-800 calories a day with about 60-90 grams of Protein. All in all I do feel good - and just take naps in the afternoon when I'm really tired. I am getting about 8-10 (sometimes 12!) hours of sleep. I decided I would let my body tell me what to do and not stress about it.
  9. Congratulations ! I was sleeved the next day on the 8th. High weight was 228. Surgery day was 216 and today 198 !!! Also lost 6 inches of my dreaded belly fat ! Yahoo! Luckily I didn't have the 3 week stall.

120 pounds lost and 7 months out PIX

Congratulations - you sure do look amazing!!!! I know it was alot of hard work (as I am now discovering!). Thank you for the inspiration and motivation !
  11. I was sleeved on the 8th. Have lost 16 lbs (total 27 from HW)! I love Atkins Protein shakes (vanilla and choc) and add Isopure unflavored (2 scoops-50 grams protein) and I drink it throughout the day. It's a whopping 65 grams of protein so that meets my daily req.
  12. It was encouraging to read this posting As I am freaking out and ready to cancel my upcoming surgery tomorrow morning. Such a big lifestyle change ...I know I need it but I don't know if I'm ready and can't even imagine months and months without a real meal
  13. October 8th 7:30am I will be sleeved!!! Scared and excited!!! Hope I can do this - look forward to support from fellow sleevers this week! I will be in San Diego at Scripps Green .
