  1. Thanks all. They ran tests and found out that her blood was very low so she's waiting on the doctor to come talk to her after he finishes up doing a bypass. Getting kind of worried….not sure what they'll do in this situation.
  2. My twin @@bams1220 is having her WLS in Mexico today. I was suppose to be there with her, but something came up and I couldn't go so she went alone yesterday. I'm the brave, stronger one and will try anything once. I've even gone on vacation alone before. This is her first time going on a trip alone and all the way to Mexico at that and to have this surgery. I had to encourage her, but it didn't take much because she really wanted to have this surgery. Her insurance doesn't cover the surgery. My date will be in January or February which will be covered by insurance. We're very close and I've been communicating with her since I dropped her off at the airport. She was suppose to be first but her surgery was delayed this morning. I haven't heard from her since they picked her up from the hotel. Can't wait to hear how she's doing. Please pray and wish her luck. Love you @@bams1220!!!
  3. Sorry to hear that. Is it anything your doctor can do to appeal? I'm so worried that I'll end up in the same boat when my paperwork gets submitted. Hopefully something can be done or maybe consider going to Mexico. My twin sister's insurance doesn't cover the surgery so she's heading to Mexico next week. Hope things work out for you if they can appeal.
  4. Good luck with your submission. I also have AETNA, but paperwork won't get submitted until middle of jan 2015. Keep us informed on how i goes, the length it took for approval, etc.
  5. Hi @Pelicanlady. What was the result of your EGD. I just had mine last week and there were a couple of erosions (possibly infections). They did biopsies on them and I won't get the pathology report back until next week. Did you have to take any medications? Did it delay your surgery? I am curious to know because my last weigh in is this month and my surgery hopefully will be next month. Thanks in advance for your response.
  6. OK..I had my EGD on Thursday. I didn't post immediately afterwards because I was bummed at the results. The surgeon found two erosions on my stomach and he told me that I probably couldn't have the surgery done until after they heal. He did two biopsies and I won't get the pathology report back until a couple of weeks. He said if they are even infections, I would probably have to be on medication for a month and off for a month…another EGD and then depending on the results from the 2nd one…that process might have to be repeated. I was so hoping that the surgery would take place in Jan or Feb. I suppose I have no other choice but to wait for the results from the pathology report. I'll be down until that happens.
  7. I will take the banana and vanilla if that's ok
  8. I'm having my EGD done tomorrow. Hopefully everything will be ok. I plan to go to work afterwards if I feel up to it. Will repost once I have it done.
  9. @sleevedup...are you self pay. Because if you're going through your insurance, you can't lose any more weight. Your BMI is under 35 right now. As I mentioned find a doctor now and get it done, especially if you're self-pay. I know that's what I would do. I'm too impatient to wait on something that might not happen.
  10. You mentioned he might not be able to do the surgery at all. Since you are ready, I would look for another doctor right away. You don't want to get to the end of the 7 months and your doc not able to do the surgery and regret that you didn't find another one 7 months ago.

  12. Hi Kim. Sorry for just responding but my insurance coordinator never responded back and I just found out yesterday that she just up and quit. Don't know what that's about but I hope it doesn't affect those of us who are getting close to surgery. How are things going for you. I'm going to give you my PEA so we can keep keep and stay in touch.
  13. @peteyrulz. May I ask why you were denied. I'm so nervous that that will happen to me.
  14. Wow! Sorry to hear that! I just sent her my video weigh in on Sunday and sent her another email asking her to get back with me to verify that she received it but didn't hear back from her. I guess I better follow up with someone else.
  15. Gjspruce02...are you asking because it's open season and you're wanting to change. If so, I have AETNA open access and I am doing the 3 month process. Started in October and I will be finished with everything in December and will the drs office will then submit for approval. Hope this helps.
  16. Congrats...it will be here before you know it. Can't wait until I'm finished with this process.
  17. What dr are you using. My sister is using dr. Lopez who I believe uses them and his own company Specialized Bariatrics. We did a lot of research before we decided on a dr. When she initially was going thru MBC she found that they were rude and seemed to be more about the money. Dr Lopez and his team had a lot of rave reviews. She likes SB and they are very thorough. Let me know if I can be of further help. Good luck!
  18. Are you getting skeeved and cosmetic surgery for 4999?
  19. I had one about 10 years ago and it does make a huge difference. It is quite painful but after about 3 days the pain starts subsiding. If I had to do it all over again, I would without hesitation. It was well worth the money and pain.
  20. Welcome and good luck with your surgery. My twin sister, bams1220, is having surgery on the exact same day in Mexico. She doesn't get on here much so I speak for her sometimes. I wont be having mine until Feb 2015. This is a wonderful platform to get tons of info and connect with people for support. Again welcome!
