2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea
Wow, wonder if that was causing the issue the whole time? She really, really needs to get some protein shake in her body..

March Sleevers
I stalled for 2 weeks at weeks 4 and 5. Just about lost my mind but just kept with the diet. Then I just all of a sudden started losing again. I'm convinced it was my fat putting up a fight! Yea, I was stalled for 2 weeks, then had a 2.6 pound weight gain last Friday.. started my period. yay. :/ this morning I was down 2 of the 2.6 pounds.. my body is definitely fighting.

Yea, my Nut told me to increase 800-1000. I've hit it Saturday, but yesterday I didn't.

Increased calories and weight gain
Well, that's ridiculous, so maybe your NUT isn't as educated as I'd hope. But I don't think it's unreasonable for you to be aiming for 800-1000 calories a day. You want to keep your metabolism up and stay out of starvation mode. And if you are doing ANY sort of exercise, you need to be eating more calories in order to sustain your activity level. Definitely don't worry about this 2.6 pound "gain". It can only be Water weight and there is no way you are actually GAINING real weight eating under 1000 calories a day. Stalls and slow-downs are common around the 3 week mark post-op and things usually pick up again a few weeks after that, so just hang in there. Yea, I am working on it. I did end up starting my period, and today I was down 2 of the 2.6 I was up Friday. So I am definitely working on eating more, although yesterday I barely ate much at all, I just wasn't hungry. I got the all clear last week at my 2nd follow up.

I felt that way also and just started mine. Definitely get your calories up. When I'm under 600 I don't feel great. You will probably go back to a regular cycle soon.

Increased calories and weight gain
LOL, I've always read that too, but I don't know if I believe it.. I just want to make sure I'm doing the right things.. sometimes my Nut tells me some things like, not to lift weights, cause I'm going to bulk up, and to eat things for carbs that I shouldn't really be eating. I just have the irrational fear, that I went through all this and it still won't matter.

Am I going through STARVATION MODE?!
Yea, I agree.. My Dr told me to get in my fluids and as much protein as I could.. which was maybe an ounce of Protein shake an hour.. I'm just now able to drink a full drink in maybe 2 hours..

Increased calories and weight gain
I had my second follow up on 4/14, and my Dr. and Nut wanted to increase my calories 800-1000. I had been getting in about 4-600 calories a day, and hit the 3 week stall, so I've been stalled about 2 weeks now. This morning I was up 2.6 pounds. I'm trying hard not to freak out about it, but I am definitely having the feelings of this isn't going to work for me and wtf. So, did this happen to anyone else? I'm focusing on getting in my Protein and liquids. I've been getting at least 60-85 grams of protein a day, and mostly staying lower carbs. They want me to start getting in more veggies also. I'm still mostly soft foods right now. Any advice?

Feeling like I am taking the easy way out :-/
So many times I "tried' on my own.. I'm 4 weeks post op, and you are right.. its not the easy way out for sure.. my surgery was a piece of cake; surgery was perfect and so has been recovery.. but the weight started dropping off and just stopped and now I'm working on getting it going.. it is still work! I wish I would have done this YEARS ago.

Thank you, I've always been active! I know, right? First you are viewing your surgeon as the enemy. She's there to help you. If you're not getting enough fluids then she wants to supplement for your own health. Some people struggle in the beginning with fluids but it gets easier. You have to be willing to change for your own best life. I know in my preop, it was all about the fluids. Did you go through all that? Did you commit to doing it before surgery? It's all about change. Just sip constantly. Add Crystal Light or Mio so your water is flavored. Good luck. I agree.. you don't want to get dehydrated.. scary things can happen with dehydration and low calories.. just keep sippin!

@@Sunny80 Yea, I was like.. what? and just shook it off.. realistically though.. i'm sure not many women at 280 pounds are running.. (maybe).. but she also hates exercising.. so I wasn't too offended.. I was just like, no.. wait.. I already ran before surgery, and i'm running now.. LOL

@@purrfctangel @@NewgirlfromMd Thanks! I'm not frustrated yet.. I just want to see it keep moving (give me an ounce here or something! So i'm trying. I already work out heavily too.. went to spinning today. I've been released for full activity so i'll be back to crossfit and everything.. I also realize its normal, so that's encouraging! One comment from my Nut to my Dr.. My Dr said I could start running again.. (which I already have) and my Nut goes.. um.. she's 280 pounds.. she can't be running! I was like, um.. I do run, thank you very much..

March Sleevers
I had my second follow up yesterday, and I'm currently stalled. I've been the same weight for 12 days now. My Dr and Nut told me to increase calories to 800. I've been around 5-600 a day, plus working out. But yea, I've had those feelings like, how am I going to get more food in, when its hard right now? LOL. The opposite problem to have when trying not to eat too much, now I need to try to eat more. She wants me eating every 2-3 hours. I've been dizzy and lightheaded a few times too.. the good thing is though, my blood pressure was SO good! It had been inching up a little over the past couple years.. it was perfect yesterday.

Biggest surprise/regrets after surgery?
I am only 3 weeks out, but I was surprised at how emotional I was before surgery. I just wanted it over.. I'm surprised at how easy everything has went.. so far, i'm totally 100% happy with my decision!

Restaurants?
I tried refried Beans at a restaurant, and it was a terrible experience. I've been successful anywhere where they have Soup.. or fish..

Am I going through STARVATION MODE?!
At a week out, you really aren't going to be hungry. What I did was sip, sip, sip.. It took me all day to drink a full Protein shake.. I had half in the morning, half in the afternoon.. in between that I had Water, water, water. At night I had Jello, or broth, or Soup. Your new stomach is still irritated and swollen, so no, you probably won't feel hunger, and if you keep sipping all day, you wont' either. You did mention you felt hungry, then said you didn't have head hunger.. and weren't hungry. At this point, you can't "listen" to your hunger cues, because you probably won't have them. I think it will be awhile till you can do that.. I made the mistake early of going to long in between meal times and had some dizziness and lightheadedness. Some of these ladies have been around the block awhile, its best to pay attention to what they are telling you..
