Best and worst "compliments"
It is NO ONE's business but your own. If you choose to tell everyone about surgery, that is YOUR prerogative. Only my very close friends and family know my decision.

Newbie from Southern Maryland : )
I'm not sure, but hi! I live in St. Mary's!

What is everyone NOT going to miss after sleeve?
Accidentally bumping my toddler over with my butt! HAH. I really don't have any other things.. except hopefully not feeling so out of place.. although I really don't. I'm pretty active and everything already. I don't really sweat that bad, cause I work out anyway.. but sweat doesn't always go away!

I was a "super healthy" fat person until surgery changed my life. Was it worth it?
Thank you!!! I feel the same! I've fit.. I crossfit, swim, bike, try to run.. etc. I just cannot get this weight off. I'm so glad I've started the process.

Bariatricpal scared me shitless
I'm confused to why you are still getting the surgery, if the medical diet you are doing is working so well, that you've lost 162 pounds.. and You dont really seem to want the surgery.. ?

1 year tomorrow :)
Awesome! I can't wait!

Scary Skinny
I think sometimes its also that people are used to you looking bigger.. 140ish pounds certainly isn't anorexic skinny! I agree.. I think people just forget what normal looks like!

supplement/crossfit
Hi! I haven't had surgery yet, but I use Progenex recovery for after my crossfit workouts. I crossfit, and I'm 302. Its hard, but its scaled. I absolutely LOVE my box.

Family unsupportive?
And yes, my husband said that we will just keep the surgery to ourselves.

Family unsupportive?
Thanks everyone.. I'd love to talk to you MaryBeth! I have two young children, ages 7 and 15 months. The baby is getting around great, and our plan is to have my babysitter keep them overnight, and I go home the next day. He will take them to the babysitter during the day, and my boss already approved me to work at home for 2 weeks while I am recovering. He was majorly against it for years, and now does support me. He's really the only one I care about it. I do think they are coming from fears. thanks.

Family unsupportive?
So it may be this way until after my surgery?

why dont u just stay on the pre op diet?
Thank you! I am going through that now.. I workout like a fiend, and the weight still is hard to come off. I've been struggling since I was about 12.. I'm 35.. how much longer do I need to "try".. My sister had the nerve to say.. yea, but have you REALLY tried.

Family unsupportive?
I have thought about getting bariatric surgery for a very long time.. over 10 years. Now that I've finally gotten my husband Ok with it, and I have made my consultation appt, my sister and mother are now really coming out as unsupportive about it! I'm really shocked. My sister is my best friend and she almost seems angry that I've made this decision.. Anyone else have experience?

Crossfit
Good to know. I currently do crossfit, but haven't been sleeved yet.

And So Our Journey Begins...
I really enjoyed reading about your first 30 days. I hope you continue to update!

My brain knows but my heart hurts...
I think most people lose a ton of water in the first few weeks.. but you already lost them prior to the surgery.. You've lost a good amount of weight in 2 months! if you lose a little slower, hopefully you will have better skin!
