It sure isn't the easy way out but if that's what people want to call it, so be it. There are too many ways to get help in this day in age without having to suffer it out. I'm about living life smart and not hard. It's about life choices and what works for you, and makes you a better person. IMO.

It is definitely not the easy way out. And why do you have to tell anybody? It's not anybody's business. My husband a three of my closest friends knew because I knew I needed a support group to make it successfully. Think about it ... all the surgery does is make your stomach smaller. If you put bad food in a smaller stomach, you're still going to get bad results. You still have to walk through the bakery at the grocery store to get to the fruits and veggies; you still have to drive by the restaurants; you still have to exercise; you still have to make the right choices! If you're not willing to do that, then all the weight loss surgery in the world is not going to do any good. It's a tool in a big toolbox. So, you see, it's not the easy way out at all!

Sure, I wish I could have lost weight without the lap-band. I also wish I could have gone through life without gaining an extra 100 pounds in the first place. I also wish I had a million dollars and a private jet.
Everyone has their own circumstances to deal with in life. For those of us who are WLS patients, we just couldn’t manage our weight without WLS. It’s okay. Ideally, yes, I definitely agree with you that it would be nice to be able to be healthy and lose weight without WLS. In my real life? I needed help, and WLS gave it to me.
By the way…you’re not taking the easy way out. You’ll unfortunately learn that as soon as you start to have struggles. We all do.

Not sure how far out you are, but I had similar feelings early on. You will get thru the process. Just take one day at a time and concentrate on getting well. Your outlook will improve after you get thru this pureed phase. It gets better.

Is she concerned about complications and your daughter or is she just anti-surgery? I'd try to find out what her objections are and maybe have her go to the surgeons office with you to reassure her. The more she knows may help ease her fears if that's the case. If she is just anti WLS then don't worry it's your journey. Good luck!

My sleeve, I don't think it will kill your chances. Just follow the plan from now on. I believe you have enough time to empty your stomach.
Salonboi my doctor has cancelled surgeries the day of surgery if patients have eaten too much. They know and put us on the pre op plan for a reason. Mainly to prevent complications and shrink the liver. The size of your liver is determined in proportion to your body. They assess the situation beforehand when they put you on your plan.

Dr Kim did my sleeve 3 years ago. I have no regrets in choosing him. He also has a traveling patient program. There is a TON of after surgery support especially if join the private fb support group. Lots of friendships have been created through this group. I wish you best in journey whoever you decide to use.

Dr David Kim at Kim Bariatric Institute in Colleyville, Tx did my surgery and I trust him totally, he saved my life . When i first went to see him I was so heavy I was embarassed and he made me feel at ease. I no longer take any high blod pressure or diabetes medicines. I think you would be so happy you checked him out and made the right choice. He has a increble staff, support group once a month at his office and a online chat. Go for it!!!!!

Hi Lori! No Dr Kim has a new surgical center which is great! It is a same day procedure unless u need to stay over.PM me if u have further questions. Hopefully I can figure it out!
