My son lives on Myspace....but I have to warn you ...you can get some mighty nasty viruses from that sight. My computer guy told me about this and yes I had some really bad ones. Get a good spyware program too if you are gonna go to this site.

You asked the same thing I was gonna ask! Mine seems bigger then a golf ball. It gets tender at times too.

From what I am reading, it is my understanding that when ever you get fills, the doctor is supposed to remove the old fluid before putting in new fluid??? Mine does not do this. Should I be concerned? Should I ask him to remove the old stuff first??? Also, and this may sound stupid but, can the saline evaporate?

Last Monday night there was a news story regarding gastric bypass you can read the transcripts from that by going to foxchicago.com . Click on Fox focus tab and look for the story called 'Dying to be thin'. I have never been so sure that banding was the way to go for me. I hope this helps.

Monday night on Fox news at 9:00 PM there will be a special segment called..."Dying to be thin". It is about the gastric bypass surgery. I think I will watch this....to reassure myself that I did the right thing getting banded.

Johnnyreno, I normally don't post much here, but I have to say because of all the information that is already here, I dont have to. My questions and issues are already here and answered and I like that. The few posts that I do start are always answered respectfully. I also must say that I totally understand where you are coming from. I understand your anger and frustration. I just think, and this is just my opinion, that you handled it all wrong when you posted those emails. Don't get me wrong, I understand why you did it. You just wanted us all to be informed and possibly save someone the agony you went through and thats fine. I just think that maybe it could have been handled differently. I guess that I am one of a few (again just my opinion) that believes in our justice system. Get a lawyer...handle this the proper way. Thats what I would do if this happened to me. As for the rest of our Band brothers and sisters...please dont judge Johhnyreno for a temporary lack in judgement. I don't believe he meant any harm...he is just frustrated. It could happen to any of us. Wow..this is the longest thread I have ever written, but after reading all this, I just had to pass along my 2 cents. Didnt mean to upset anyone.

I found out yesterday i have to have an abdominal hysterectomy. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what I should expect. I had 2 c-sections in the past. I figure it can't be any worse. Am I right? How much time off from work will I be needing????

Hey, thanks for all the replies. I have mine on 11-16-05. I too had 2 c-sections and my doctor will be cutting over my bikini cut. Thanks for the encouragement!

Cremation is what my husband and I want. I can't see someone making a huge profit from my death. I am not a wasteful person in life and I sure as hell won't be one after death. We want our ashes divided into 4 Urns ( one for each of our sons) eventually using the same Urns when the last surviving spouse dies so we can be together. My orginal thoughts were to have us put into one Urn and make our kids share custody of our remains, but I wouldn't want anyone fighting over who would have us first..yeah right, like that would ever happen...lol! Some how I managed to miss something. Why is ibuprofen bad for the band? I have been using it up until today to kill the pain of a root canal. Now I am scared to use it. Whats the deal on ibuprofen and if this is not a good choice...what is?

Boy, do I ever know how you feel! I dont get a feeling of fullness at all. I have a Vanguard band and my fill was 3cc's. The doctor says I have good restriction but you can't prove it by me. Sure I am still eating less then I did and I am losing but 2 hours after I eat...Im starving again.

Does anyone know a good exercise that will help tighten the muscle in my upper arms ( or as I refer to it my wings)? I look at myself in the mirror when I am combing my hair and am starting to see this flabby skin hanging there. Its not too bad yet but...I sure dont want it to get any worse!

OK this may be a stupid question but here it goes. I keep reading that there are different brands of bands. What are they? What is the difference in brands? I have a Vanguard band and I am hearing that this is a, if not the, largest band. What does that mean exactly? Is this a good thing? Bad thing? Is there a "better" band compared to others?

I buy the whey protein powder (isolate) from a fitness center. It has 60g's of protein in one serving. I mix it with skim milk and have it for breakfast. I tastes great! I think someone had mention that all protein drinks have about the same amount of protein but they do not. I have checked many places...GNC, Costco, Walgreens, Walmart and so on. I only drink one glass a day and it works perfectly for me. The extra energy is a plus too!

I just recently went through this problem myself. I was absolutely evil! I did some checking and found that a lack of protein can make people irritable (sp?) ! So I started protein shakes (60g's) per serving. This helped me alot! Are you sure your getting enough protein?

All I can say is I am glad you are getting help for this problem before it is too late. My best girlfriend was also addicted to pain medication. Like you, her doctor kept on prescribing them to her. She died in a car accident last February taking her 16 year old daughter with her. She fell asleep behind the wheel and hit a tree. From what I understand pain meds make you sleepy. You are a very smart and brave woman to know that this problem must stop and I wish you the best in your recovery. Please let us know how you are doing and if you ever feel the need for someone to talk to...just let us know! we are her to support you.
