    My port is sideways

Yes sometimes I can see the edge. It does hurt but sometimes it pinches. Thanks for sharing it makes me feel a bit more normal

    My port is sideways

My port sticks out considerably and sometimes is right sideways. Anyone encountered this. Is painful at times. I am 4 months out
  4. Something I just heard of but have not tried... Retried beans with a bit of cream cheese. I liked eggs. Also butter chicken that I puréed in my magic bullet.

  7. I was banded on May 9th and am half way to my target of losing 70 lbs. I am looking for a buddy who would be available for text/Facebook/my fitness pal etc. my main struggles are tracking my food, drinking my water. Hopefully we can exchange encouragement and be in each others corners. I live in Mississauga Ontario but I am open to a long distance buddyship.

  10. My port is flipped but still accessible. It takes some manipulation to get my fills. An experienced nurse was able to get at it after another nurse had failed. I think it really depends on how comfortable the nurse is with moving the port around. My port sticks out (looks sideways ) when I lay down. Don't give up. Ask your clinic for a nurse who is experienced with difficult to reach ports.

    Eating Vegetables?

Congratulations n your half marathon. That is amazing. Have you tried wheat grass juice or perhaps making sauce out of puréed veggies. I use puréed soups to cook my chicken n a crockpot it adds flavour and acts like food lube.

    Lap band surgery yesterday

Welcome to the losers bench. I was banded 4 months ago. I found walking up stairs helped with the gas. Get plenty of rest and drink your water. You will be feeling awesome in no time flat.
  13. Measurements are a must. Also but a pair of pants a couple of sizes smaller at a thrift store and try them on every two weeks. I also do a video log, it helps me remember what I was feeling and learning. Watching some of my earlier videos are a great motivation. Keep your eye on the long term goal. A stall will seem like a blip when you look back 5 years from now.

    Just starting

Yes it will be slow in the beginning. The sooner you start moving the better you will feel. You could try short walks around your neighbourhood. Exercise will speed up the weight loss but you are recovering so take it slow. Good luck
  15. I got mine at slimband. I am down 30 lbs. I have been vlogging my progress on YouTube (moniquesjourney). That's been a lot of fun. I am adjusting well to eating with the band. Are you excited?
