Thanks! I need to get real about my eating habits again but I live in the house of junk food and it can be really hard. I'd like to lose about 60 more lbs. That would put me in the 150 range.

FancyCakes got a reaction from CanadaLoser in VSG In Tijuana, Mexico ANYONE?!
Going to Mexico was the best decision I've ever made. I had the surgery in June with Dr. Garcia. My mom went three weeks later, and my aunt went three weeks after that.
I've lost 65lbs. My mom has lost 70, and my aunt who was larger than all of us refuses to get on the scale but her weight loss was substantial.
I met several people the day of surgery and I still talk to all of them, but no one went with me and I was perfectly comfortable.
Those are pictures of Hospital CER, where my surgery was done

I had terrible foot pain before surgery too. Once I lost the first 50 lbs (I'm now down 82), my foot pain resolved. Now if only my feet would shrink from a size 11 to a ten...

I wore this outfit to work today! A junior size 11 dress, sweater tights, and calf-high boots. Really?

FancyCakes reacted to NY Lou in 11 months out and just ran a 26.2 mile marathon - with before & after pics
its been a little over 11 months since my sleeve surgery (march 19, 2013). yesterday I accomplished a goal that ive had since I was a teenager. im 50 years old now and just ran my first full 26.2 mile marathon! my goal was under 5 hours and I did it in 4 hours 51 minutes. ive been running ever since I started exercising after surgery and when I first started I couldn't run for more than 1 minute! after running a few 13.1 mile half marathons i started training 5 months ago for a full 26.2 mile marathon and now I can finally check that off my bucket list. today im at my lowest weight ever at 180.25 pounds. for the last 20 years before surgery I was always around 300 pounds. im so grateful for this surgery, but the truth is that if you don't use the surgery as a tool along with good food choices and exercise, it will be hard to achieve your long term goals. the surgery alone may have lost me 60 pounds, but believe me, the last 60 pounds is because of me using my new sleeve as part of an entire life style change that includes eating healthy, knowing when to say no when my sleeve is satisfied (not bursting) and dedicating myself to exercise 4x a week even when I don't feel like doing it. I never thought I would be a success story as that always happened to someone else, not me....well now its me and it can be you too! best of luck to everyone, post pre-surgery and post-surgery. just remember to stop making excuses and start making the changes to guarantee yourself success.

Just as a side note, I came home from surgery and I was starving. I would try to eat and it wouldn't go away. It was stomach acid. I take omeprazole and now I don't have any fake hunger pains. Be sure your hunger is really hunger and not stomach acid.

FancyCakes reacted to Elode in The fear of regain is REAL!
I have a tremendous fear of regaining the weight that I've lost. I was going through some recent pictures of the 3 family members of mine that have had WLS. Two had Gastric bypass and the (blonde pink shirt) had sleeve surgery 6 months before I did. All have regained weight, they don't look like they even had surgery. None of them ever reached any goal. These are current post (last week). The part that aggravates me is the excuses they come up with and the comments about how I'm just "lucky" that I lost so "easily". I see all the food post. It's not my place to call them out on the food they are eating. Seeing this can be discouraging at times but most of the time it makes me want to do anything possible NOT to end up like that. Maybe I'm wrong for using them as my motivation to succeed but it does scare me. I never know what to say when the remarks come in about how well I've done and all my so called "luck". What do you do?! I keep these pictures as my reminder of what can/will happen if I don't stick with my plan. Which just helped me stop at 6 1/2 Cheetos! Of course I've blocked all identity from the pictures for their privacy. Its not "luck" it's a constant "just say NO!" Attitude I have to food. It's not easy, it's never going to be easy. That's my reality. It's just a tool nothing more and nothing less.

I just started seeing someone for the first time in four years. My best friend introduced us and luckily she told him everything. He is so great and very understanding. Zero judgement, plus if someone judges us for this they are obviously not someone we should be seeing.

Also, Old Navy also has cute clothes and literally always has discounts.
I get stuff there because it is cheap, so I won't have to care about losing weight and not wearing them again.
