  2. Hi Vonnie, I didn't use Dr. Carter, but I did use Dr. Snow, who also uses the Specialty Surgery Center in Hurst. The staff at the center are awesome! Dr Snow and Carter, along with a couple of other Doctors are part of the AIGB Group. Good luck! Ray
  3. I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Our pets become much more than "pets". They become part of us. I feel very sad for you and I can only imagine how hard it would be to say goodbye to my dog (Landry). It depresses me to just think about it.
  4. Megan, You have me SO pumped up now!!! Thanks for the inspiration!
  5. Hey Beanie, Since being banded, I now order a reg taco and pintos n cheese and mix them up together. Not bad! I am not quite sure how many cals, but WAY less than I used to order at Taco Hell!
  6. You need to post that photo!
  7. Hi Chichigirl, As a matter of fact, Landry and I just got back from our evening jog. Actually, he jogs me! We are a team! Thanks for the support.
  8. Thanks for the encouraging words guys! I do appreciate it! Ruthie, I'll be looking for you on Monday! Will you be wearing your pigtails! LOL I hope you weren't planning on flying to Florida!
  9. Hey Delarla, I admit that I have broken the band rules of carbonation a few times! I've had some diet rootbeer from A&W, diet coke at the movie theaters, and a couple of beers. I've pretty much lost my cravings for soda and it really dosn't bother me too much to abstain from those precious, ticklely, awesome, soothing, bubbles!! Okay.......maybe not all my cravings, but I have replaced the soda with iced tea (w/splenda) and other flavored low cal drinks. The other night, my work buddies came over for a poker party in my garage. They drank beer (alot of beer) and I drank rum with diet lemonade! They called it my foo foo drink! LOL It did the job though! LOL
  10. I have just received my 2nd fill today. This one was under fluroscope as oppossed to the first fill done "blind". I also have the Vanguard Band and now have a total of 4ccs. My fill today only consisted of 1cc. I was banded on 8/9/05, and have managed to lose 33lbs. I don't have alot of restriction, but I have definately been eating somewhat sensibly (compared to prebanding). I have also been exercising like a madman! Actually, I'm kinda obsessed about working out! I feel VERY guilty and down on myself if I don't get AT LEAST 1hr. of Cardio each and every day! I work at the DFW airport, and when I get a break or on my luch time, I power walk the terminals. It's a blast to walk while at the same time I get to people watch! Believe me, at an international airport such as Dallas/Fort Worth, you get to see all kinds! It's not uncommon at all to see celeberties on a daily basis. I also jog and bike ride! Yesterday I rode an alltime personal high of 27miles! It took me about 2hrs! I'm feeling it today!!! The only thing I really need to be more consistent with, is my weight training routine. I need to structure my workouts better. So little time......so much to do! I tought I'd share this with my Banded Bros and Sisters. I'm feeling pretty pumped about things and have SO much energy! For those of ya'll who haven't given exercising a fair chance.......give it hell.......it will make a world difference!!
  11. 10/17/05 Weight- 249lbs Chest-44" Waist- 48 1/2" Hips- 47 1/2" I get my 2nd fill tomorrow, so maybe I can pick it up a little!! Good luck to everybody!
  12. Hello Eileen, how's it going friend? I had no idea that you guys were getting that kind of rain! I hope that you and your family stay safe and dry! Take Care
  13. Eileen, I am very sorry to hear read about your BIL. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your husband. Hello Beanie, how's it going? y'all take care,
  14. 10/10/05 250lbs Chest 44 Waist 49 Hips 49
  15. I can still gulp water........or any other liquids like a champ!
  16. Eileen, It's your humor, sparkle, warmth, and cuteness!!! I hope that when you lose all that weight, that you won't lose your personality with it!!!! LOL NJ Chicks rock!!!
  17. Hey Parvathi, What an inspiring post!!! Thanks,
  18. Eileen............I've just choked on my cheerios! Ive got to remember that joke! As a former Catholic myself..............I find it kinda of true. That's when I went to church on Easter and Christmas! Now that I am a Methodist, I don't go at all!!! LOL Lord save us sinners!! Hey Beanie, I love your song quote! I've gotta be the biggest fanatic Eagles fan here in Texas. I've only seen them about 20x in concert. Hell, I actually own stock in them! LOL Y'all Take Care Now,
  19. Hello Fellow Texan! Good luck to you!
  20. Nope, not golf ball holders. Perhaps paper clips?
  21. It is believed that chewing gum causes air to be swallowed, thus leads to bloat. Also, gum, if swallowed can get lodged in the stoma (opening)........not good!
  22. I'll be the first to confess that I am not the model LapBander. For the most part (about 95% of the time) I have lived by the Golden Rules of an ideal LapBand Lifestyle...............However, I have gone astray on occasion. Here are the top 5 of my personal LapBand sins that I have been guilty of: What are y'alls (Texan Talk)? 1. drink liquids with meals 2. eat way too fast 3. drink an occasional diet coke 4. chew gum 5. eat beyond the first feelings of fullness
  23. I've got a big one!............................Band that is ! The VG band is perferred by my Doctor for all men in general. He says that a guys abdominal anatomy (perhaps a kinder way to say more belly fat) is a litte different than some women's, in terms of roominess. Ive only had one fill of 3cc's and really don't have alot of restriction yet. I really don't want an extreme degree of restriction.....where I couln't enjoy a variety of foods. I hear some say that they can only eat softcarbs or liquids......................well that aint for me! I've been banded 2 months now and have yet to have a PB. I have lost about 30lbs., so I think that band is well suited for me! I am very happy with it!

COWBOYS!.................................but dam it they piss me off !!
  25. Hi Carrie, Hey there, we were banded on the same day, probably at the very same time! You know...I have had some set backs also! I have over eaten and sabotaged my band also. But you have to get back on the wagon and try to do better the next day....the next meal. We are not perfect by no means! One day at a time! Okay.....you didn't do so well today.....you do better tomorrow! Allow 30 min a day for some exercise. Even if it's broken up in increments of 10 mins. With your next fill, you will more than likely feel more restricted. You have only been banded under 2 months now, remember that lifetime habits don't change ovenight! Good luck my banded sister!
