  1. Hiya sexy boy!! Looking hot hot hot, have you been mowing topless yet??? Ninax
  2. Dont panic!! It is normal for you to see loads of bruising, and your skin will feel saggy as it has been detached from the fascia ( the bit that glues it to the muscle) you cannot even begin to judge your results for a few weeks yet. I had lipo to my thighs and saddlebags when I had my FTT and I was really worried about the tops of my thighs - they looked terrible, slim but terrible! It took a good 8 weeks before they stopped looking wrinkly, which stressed me out no end, but now they look fine! Make sure that you wear your garment all the time for at least the first 4 weeks. I took mine off to shower and then used to rub loads of cream in and give the areas a good massage before I put the garment back on. It will settle down! Nina x
  3. I booked my tummy tuck straight after I had my band fitted, I just booked it 5 months ahead to give me the motivation that I needed, and it worked! If I hadnt hit the goal that we set then I would have shifted the surgery back. When I went in I was still about 30lb from what I knew I wanted to be my end goal, but I knew that the surgey would give me such a boost (which it did!) that I would hit afterwards. I am now 6lb off the goal that I set, but I have been at this weight for about 3/4 months now, I am kind of maintaining. Part of the problem is that I am so happy with the way that I look now that the impetus has kind of faded! I had no problems with loose skin as a result of the subsequent weightloss, all it did was improve the results. I would say go now for sure! Make sure that you choose a PS that has experiance with WLS patients and you shoudl be fine. Ask to see LOADS of before and after pics, there is no better way of judging their work. Nina x
  4. My surgeon never mentioned that I might need PS, but then I dont know if that was because my BMI was only 37 at the time. I was already aware of the possibility though as I had lurked on various support boards and educated myself prior to having the band fitted. As it turned out I WANTED a FTT anyway (nothing like carrying 6 munchkins to completely screw up your tummy) and that was one of the things that motivated me to stick with the band through our initial stormy courtship! Nina x
  5. Ahh wheet, I knew I would have this problem as I already had a fairly impressive sag round the ol' tummy area from having the sprogladites. I found the full tummy tuck was a fairly effective cure for the problem! The thing is that if you have a lot of skin in that area, eventually you lose the fat,but the skin aint going anywhere!
  6. I took measurements before the lapband and before the tummy tuck. When I started out on the journey I weighed 206lbs and my measurements were 47-40-46. Just before the tummytuck they were 44-37-43 (have to say though that the smallest part of my waist at that point was just under me ribs!!) and I weighed 168lb Straight after the tt I was 44-33-41 and I weighed 161lb and now 10 weeks or so on they are 42-31-39 and I weigh 148lb - and my waist measurement is now taken around my belly button not just under my ribs! Hope that this helps. Ninax
  7. I have to say that PC or not I have always cried laughing at toilet humour and this time was no different! The post by the guy in the checkout queue made me pee laughing (a side effect of having 6 kids NOT the Lapband!!) I dont care about the DS v Lapband row, I made my choice and even though I have my ups and downs with it I am happy with the choice I made. All of teh forms of weightloss surgery work for different people, I have always been a yoyo dieter, I CAN diet, I just couldnt stick with it, I guess for someone who has never been able to start the diet then death from a heart attack or stinky farts is really a no-brainer. Nina x
  8. Hi, I was still 68lbs from goal when I booked the sx ( booked it before the band!!LOL) and I gave myself 4 months to lose 40lb, I just skimmed it in time for the sx!! Since the TT and lipo I have gone down another 20lbs, so I am now only 8 from goal! I think you will be fine - theres nothing like a goal at the end to keep you focused! Nina x
  9. Lauren!! I am so pleased that you are really happy with her, I know people will disagree but for me you have to click with your surgeon otherwise how can you discuss fears and concerns in an open and honest way?? Good news that she isnt just a skinny minnie Dr, I think it is a different ball game when they are operating on post weightloss patients. So are you booked in?????? Nina x
  10. OMG Guys I have got to say CHECK OUT MY TICKER!!!!! LOL sorry but I am so flamin well pleased with myself!! I even got on and off the scales 4 times cos I couldnt believe what I was seeing!!! I was 168 going into sx and now I am 148 and I have still got swelling!!!!!!!!! I started working out again last week, and although I swell afterwards by the morning each time the swelling is less, its like my lymph system needed me to get the muscles moving so it could shift the Fluid. I am sorry i am so happy!!! Do you all think that I should shift my goal? Or for motivation should I leave it til I hit it and then shift it? losing - get a fill babes, I ended up not needing to get unfilled and it has really helped post-op, and yes I felt that my skin was sooooo tight some days I couldnt even wiggle my hips to move down the bed without it burning. It does loosen up, I laid on my back every morning and every night and just stretched my legs and arched my back a bit at a time to loosen it up. I will probably end up with a wider scar but it was driving me nuts! Marillon - Woooh you have been through the mill honey, thats the sort of stuff that we all had nightmares about pre-op. How are you feeling now and did they fix everything? Just take it easy hon, it will take you longer ton get back on your feet I suspect. Keep up with all your Vitamins,it will help your body to heal. Mommi-hammi - how are you honey? did you have to get an unfill to have the sx? If you did when can you get that baby tightened up again. I know what you mean about craving sweet things, I think that our bodies are automatically craving the food that will give the most instantb energy hit, it must take a lot of energy to heal all that! Other than the raving munchies how are you feeling? Karey - How are you my hunny? One week out now! Do you still feel like you have been hit by a train? 5 drains??? Wow you got mine and losing's too! I cant believe what an ordeal a simple shower became and I didnt have MR and drains, the first few times it just wipes you out, I have loads of different creams that I put on my lipo'd bits and scar and it seems like it takes forever. It is good though cos it makes me massage the areas!Dont worry about the swelling hon, cos when it has gone you will feel those ribs again AND have the most amazing 20 year olds tummy! Ousooner - how are you today hon? Have you let the knife weilding lady loose yet? Amy - Dont worry about having a pity party hon, the whole one step forwards thing gets really trying. I still pop a pain med every now and again, I dont believe in suffering! I hope that you get ton enjoy your vacation, and looking at your results already I know it will be worth it. Marypetunia- I hope that everything went well hon and that you are as pain free as possible, let us know how you are getting on. Oooh I have got some new clothes arriving later, I cant wait to try them on!!!! NIna x
  11. Hah the itching......... my sx buddy said that living with me post-op was like living with a baboon!LOL Its like a yeast infection as well the scratching is sooooooo darn good, but then the second you stop.....! I now kind of rub it, partly cos DH was fruiting at me for itching all the time, so now I tell him that I am massaging the area!!LOL I am going commando today, my garment made a kind of pressure blood blister in the middle of my scar, which made one of my stitch holes open up and start bleeding when I was drying after my shower yesterday - niiiice! So I am nekkid!! Losing - any idea when you are going to go back to work yet? I did a few sessions on the power plate, worked out with weights for my upper body and even managed to do some abs work! Cant wait to get my bike! Ousooner - That is a degree of trust rarely seen between man and woman! Good luck hon. Mary - good luck for your sx hon, I hope that you are safely on the other side now and loving the new body!! Nina x
  12. Shalee - Tell him that there is some else that does the same technique, quilting stitches and preserves the lymphatic system - plus you get a week in hospital in the price.......... he's in Lyon in France!!! LMAO!!! Losing - I have pm'd you hon Nina x
  13. Losing -OMG 60 bucks???? I am not going to tell you what mine cost, but it is almost identical to that only it has hook and eye fastening all the way down instead of a zipper. I am gutted!!! I was swollen like a little pumpkin after my exercising yesterday but by the morning it had pretty much gone. Neal - You are having revisions done while you are awake near your man bits???:eek: OMG!!! It seems like she is reallly on top of things though ( that is just begging for a rude comment but I will resist) and at least you know that she wants to make things perfect for you. Mommi - When I do too much I get a ridge round my scar, but it always settles down overnight, so I am sure that what you have got is just swelling, but better to see him voice all your concerns and then get peace of mind I reckon. I hope it all goes well! Karey - how are you feeling today hon, still a bit train wreckish or dya think that you may be on the road to recovery yet? I found that I had a bit of a good day bad day thing going on for a while before it settled down. Harley - How are you doing hon? Do you still find that you swell or can we look forwards to it stopping soon? Nina x
  14. I took some pictures today and got very stressed because I am quite swollen at the moment, but then I figured better to show to anyone reading and thinking of surgery that you do go up and down in the first few weeks! I am cheating in the first one by engaging my abs - the last one is a much truer picture!! Oh and yup I am in my undies again!! Its the best way for me to see what is really happening, cos lord knows I have had plenty of practice at sneaky dressing!LOL
  15. Dya know what C those jeans are going to fall of you in a couple of weeks, and I am not joking. Hon they are baggy everywhere apart from where you are swollen, hang on to your hat, I think you are going to fly through the sizes!!! You know from the tapemeasure how swollen you are OMG girl what size are you going to end up??? BTW make the tape measure your best friend, I had a melt down this morning when I took some now photos and I looked so swollen compared to last week, but when I measured my waist I had lost an inch?? Go figure!! love n hugs Nina x
  16. Karey - I have replied on your other thread but I just wanted to give you an official Yeee Haaaw on this thread too, I am so happy that you are in the flatlands, now you just have ton take it easy and let yourself heal! Marypetunia - Good luck with the upcoming surgery hon, it will be the best thing that you ever did! Losing - How ya doin hon? I hoep that the headaches are getting better, just taken it one day at a time! Nina x
  17. Karey !! I am so glad that you made it hon!! I am sorry that you are in so much pain, it seems to be worse with the MR than without, I hope that it eases off soon. I dont know about the bleeding from the drains, I had a terrible amount of watery blood that leaked from one of my lipo spots on my back, they laid me on a big pad thing and had to change it every 1/2 hour to start with, but after a day it stopped.Dya think it could be something similar, rather than thick blood? I knwo what I mean!!LOL Sorry that I cant be more help, but I am really happy that you have joined us on the other side!!! love and gentle healing (((hugs))) Nina x
  18. Oh babes (((((hugs))))) and I have to say a WOOO Hooo that DH is being such a star!!! I think this surgery is proving to be a great thing on many different levels for all of us, who would have thought that it could impact on so many areas of our lives, I know that my biggest wows have been about the way that I feel, NOT the way that I look if ya know what I mean! Huge loves coming your way hon Nina x
  19. In started looking before I was banded!!LOL Hey you cant blame a girl for being impatient! I just got my surgery and my BMI was about 30 but I just wasnt changing shape from the from the front and it was negging me out. I have to say that I am more than thrilled with my results so far and I am only 3 weeks out. It has spurred me on to lose more weight and I cant wait to get back on my power plate!! Oh yes and it boosted me down to a BMI of about 27/28, so the end goal is even more in sight now! Nina xxx
  20. Ring your PS hon and ask them if there is anything else that you can take. It might be dehydration you know, I get corkers when I dont have enough to drink! There are all sorts of toxins flying round your body at the moment as a by product of the healing the more that you drink that more you will flush them out. Hope you feel better soon hon. Nina x
  21. Karey you are going to be smoking after this op hon!! I am thinking of you hon! See you on the other side :rolleyes2: Nina xx
  22. looking good babes!! You wait, if you look at my laid down shots from day 5 I am still sooooo swollen, and you will be amazed what happens in the next 10 days! Glad that DH got a stay of execution :rolleyes2: Hugs hon Nina x
  23. Hmmm, I didnt think of that I will ask my PS for you if you want. I want pert tata's but I want the minimally invasive procedure. Its such a juggling act!! I dunno but I will ask! Nina x
  24. I didnt get any MR done and I have had 6 kids, I am soooo glad that I didnt!!LOL I have had a really easy recovery, and I think that my results are fine without it, I just made sure that in the months going up to the sx I did LOADS of abs work, and for the first time ever in my life I am starting to get definition!! As for the Ta Ta's I would say that the lollipop lift is the better of the 2, less scarring means less healing time and less chance of complications as far as I am concerned! I knew before I met my PS that I wanted him, saying which if he had been an ass I wouldnt have used him, I have to be able to communicate with my docs or I am not interested. What about the drain situation - do they both use drains? I think that the second one sounds more like the one that I would choose but whether they will suit you.......? Hugs Nina x
  25. Karey!!! I am thinking of you hon, I cant want for you to get to the other side and join us all in the land of flatties!! I know that you will be nervous but it will be fine, we are all a bag of nerves the night before - its normal trust me! Huge hugs NIna x
