  1. Well they called I'm the doctors third sugary, his first VSG the nurse was very funny she said hr'll be all warmed up for you after the weekend 9 AM people 9 AM on Monday! Woo hoo
  2. Sitting here waiting for the doctors office to call with my surgery time for Monday. They're not expected to call until between 3 PM and 6 PM but I'm fighting the urge to go back to bad habits of eating when I'm anxious I'm pacing around the house opening up the refrigerator looking to see what I can eat which is nothing I've had pickles I've had watermelon. Can't wait until they call!
  3. I have my surgery on Monday too. Waiting for a call later today telling me when to arrive. I'm so nervous that they're going to say this was a joke and you're not getting it done. Can't wait for the call hoping it's good news.
  4. Hello fellow 60ers. I would have been 65 in October instead I'm being reborn August 25th, 2014. I have no doubt I will be successful in shedding the camouflage/cocoon I've been carrying for 30 years. I am looking forward to discovering the me I really am. For more wake ups hip hip hooray!
  5. I have 4 more sleeps and then it's off to the hospital for me I am so excited and I cannot wait!
  6. Sleepy12 don't give up... You'll probably get on the scale and lose all the weight at one time.
  7. Easterli, good luck with your surgery. 5 days and counting down. Are you nervous? I haven't been but reading some of these posts about jitters is rubbing off on me. I "Came Out" on Facebook, but I understand why some keep it private. I just wanted it out there to get support. Some family and friends who have kept it personal have reached out to me privately and I am so glad. Hope to read about everyone's experiences. Michele
  8. Congrats. Keep up the good work
  9. Ou do look terrific! What is your Exercise routine?
  10. Hi I'm Michele too and my surgery date is also August 25. I in NJ and my surgery will be in Atlantic City. I am 64yo and weigh 241 minus the 7 lbs I've lost this week. I am on a low carb, low cal diet until Sunday. Then it's a clear liquid one. See you on the other side!
  11. August 25th too! I've been on my presurgical diet since the 11th and I've lost 7 pounds as of today I think I've been able to stay on the diet so well because I realize that if I don't it'll make my surgery harder and might even result in a cancellation of my surgery. Can't wait till the 25th and begin my new life.
  12. My surgery is scheduled for August 25. I began my presurgery diet August 11, I've lost 7 pounds. I think I've been able to stay on the diet because I realize if I don't it will be harder on me or worse yet they won't be able to do my surgery. I'm a meat eater so eating mostly protein isn't a problem for me. I do think about not ever having my favorite desserts again or a slice of pizza but in time I think I will be able to eat them in moderation and exercise. I was told not to worry about the things I won't be able to do or I'm giving up but to think about all the things I'll gain. One reason I've never been able to stick to a diet it's because I'm generally healthy and the weight didn't inhibit me it is doing that now I'm having difficulty standing or walking in the long distances. Now my weight is a health issue because of that and I believe I'll be able to stick to the diet if I think of my health and what the alternative might be like death, lol. Good luck to all my fellow August sleevers let's all keep in touch.
  13. August 25th here. I started my pre surgery diet August 11tg. I've lost 7lbs. This part hasn't been too bad. I think the fact that I believe/know if I don't stick to it it will be harder on me or worse they won't be able to do the surgery. I do think about not being able to eat my favorite foods. I believe in time and in moderate proportion I will be able to eat them and I'm counting on the surgery to limit the amount that I can have. I also know that to stay healthy and keep my hair I have to eat plenty of protein and some fats and stay calm. As someone told me don't worry about the things that you won't have remember all of the things that you're gaining. Good luck to all you Augusts levers I'll keep in touch.
  14. Not getting surgery till 8/25. But I am like you in the respect that I don't feel as big as I am. I wonder if most people with overweight people feel that way.
  15. I'm having my surgery in NJ. Second day of pre op diet. I'm feeling hungry!
  16. I'm not real tech savoy. Do I search August 25th bariatric support on Facebook? Please explain.
  17. My surgery is scheduled for August 25th too. I have 2wks of presurgery diet one day of clear liquids and then my surgery.
  18. I am 64 and having my surgery August 25th, 2014. I'm so excited, I'm almost afraid to believe it's actually happening. I can't wait to be normal again. I wasn't a fat child or teenager. My fat came after my kids. It's funny when I wasn't fat I thought I was, and as a fat person I didn't feel as fat as I was/am ..... Until I saw a picture or my reflection. Then I was ashamed. I wish myself good luck...I deserve a full unencumbered life. We all do! I can't wait to meet me. Michele
  19. I can't wait to loose weight to have my abdominal apron removed. I too want to see my "lady parts".
  20. I had an EKG, echocardiogram and a stress test. I I was prized that the psychologist asked me if I was molested as a child he said there was a high correlation between obesity and molestation. Michele.
