Wow, I'm blown away. You guys are doing so great... I'm way behind where you are and feeling like I've missed the boat. I've lost
14 days preop . Lost 10 pounds 0-3 months postop. Lost 28 pounds 4-6 months postop. Lost 8 pounds I wish I had worked harder to stay on track during Thanksgiving and Christmas - would have been so much closer to my goals. Live and learn, right? My NUT is saying I'm still on track, and I've re-committed to the plan. 1 wk loss of 3 lbs is a good way to kick off my re-committment

I don't eat slow either. Can't stand cold food. My restriction is just as good as the day I had surgery. I can only eat 2 or so ounces of food. I am 5 months out and hit my goal weight yesterday. I have never puked up food. I did puke up a Vitamin one time when I took it on an empty stomach. Other than that I don't get chest pain or anything like that when I eat. It's awesome!

So earlier this evening I mooned a group of my friends. Just about walked out of my pants. We were all laughing.. Nearly peeing my oversized pants. So I'm proactively bagging up all the super baggy stuff. I don't need to keep it "just in case." Think I'm gonna drop it off at a non profit tomorrow. ????????

I chose the gastric sleeve because I did not want the dumping that can come with RNY. I also wanted to eventually be able to eat all of my favorite foods, just in much smaller portions. I did not go with the band due to having to get fills and unfills and the "stuck episodes".
I am very happy with my decision

As of yesterday I am 12 weeks post op. When I came on today to update my ticker I got excited. I noticed I only have 7 more lbs to lose till my weight lost is MORE than my weight to left to lose to get to my goal weight. Just thought that was cool. Now grant it 175 is my first goal weight, but I know my doc wants me a little lower. But one step at a time.
Also on another note......2 more lbs to go till the 240's!!!
Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

16lbs in a month is fantastic. Relax. Its going to come off. Its going to stall, its going to fall off like crazy, then it will level off and just when you think youre going to move right along its going to stall again. Welcome aboard the rollercoaster!

I am a daily weigher and it worked ok for me and still does. But I did not stress over the number especially on the way down. Not everyone can do that. I stress more about it now that I am in maintenance mode. I lost 135 in about 18 months and am approaching 2 year anniversary.
I will tell you that for the first 10 months the only exercise I did was easy walking 2-3 times a week. I sort of "saved " it for the end when I knew it would get tougher. Sure enough I lost 100lbs in 10 months but was still over 200. I looked and felt great but I really wanted to be under 200 and at 5-10 I had a dream to get to the 170s. A dream I thought would never come true.
At 10 months I started going to the gym. I spent a fortune on 6 months of personal training. I gradually got out of my comfort zone and started spin classes and when PT was up started body pump. I try to go 3-4x a week, 2 spin and 2 body pump. And guess what. Not only did I get to that under 200 but I did get in the 170s. It took about 9 months to lose about 35 lbs. without a new commitment to exercise it would not have happened.
Now others may start the exercise sooner and maybe then it would not take as long. But I wanted to let you know that you can be light n exercise in the beginning and still lose. At some point you may need to add it to get to personal goals. You also may need to add it to prevent muscle loss. I was a real weakling before I added in the training regimen. Now I am not sculpted but at least under the softness there is strength.

    What's your daydream?
Mine is walking on the beach next summer, in shorts, for miles. Big old floppy hat, Jackie O sunglasses, sassy butt, and my trusty dog at my side. Cruising Chicago's Lake Shore Drive on a Saturday from Hyde Park to Sheridan Road and back with the sunroof open and the windows down.

If it makes you feel better, I'll tell you what I tell myself when I feel like I'm not losing quickly. Time is going to pass no matter what we do, so while it might take longer than others and you might feel stalled, as long as you are losing even a little bit consistently, eventually you will get to where you are going. I was stuck in the 167-170 range for months and when I finally got past that I got stuck again in the 150's. I have now been in the 130's range for about 2-3 months and I get frustrated when I get on the scale some days. For example, I worked out a lot yesterday and didn't eat much and I gained a few ounces. Logically though I look at my daily weight which I have written down every single day and I can see that I am losing weight, slowly, but still losing. No matter what happens, the next few months are still going to pass, so I can spend them being annoyed that I'm not losing quickly, or enjoying life, doing my thing, and one day realize that I am finally at goal. I really try for the latter of the options, but admittedly, there are days where I feel very irritated with the slow progress of my weight loss. Keep on keepin' on.

Hello! My sleeve is scheduled for January 27th! And I just got a letter from my insurance company (fed bcbs) that they approved it! Giant sigh of relief! I hope everyone gets to experience this feeling. Tomorrow I start my pre op diet and I have never been more excited to start a diet! And I never thought I would be saying that! This has been such a long process and I can not believe it's finally coming to fruition! I just needed to share! Good luck to everyone, and hang in there!

I am in the 11-4 club as well! I'm so happy to be here. I seem to be hanging on to the nausea I should have come off the purée foods today adding in soft cooked and a few other items however I've been so sick I didn't want to push my luck. Journey started at 348 and progressed to surgery at 312. Moving right along to my 2 week post op of 295 I them progressed to the scale reading 288 today on my one month mark. 24lbs in 30 days! That's equal to .000555555556 lbs per min I'm feeling good except when I attempt to eat anything. I am still unable to get in all my Protein and liquids for the day. I am going to my first support group meeting Monday night. My surgeon and Nut provide such a well rounded support system and head up the support meetings. They are truley their for the patience.
I wore 26-28 pants and now everything is super baggy. However I happen to have my fav jeans that I hadnt worn for 3 1/2 years that now fit with no effort. I was size 4-5x shirt and they are now my sleep shirts as I'm in 1-2x shirts. I had to down size the bra and panties before they just fell off. I am however in the same size socks but the shoes are even a bit loose now. Yahoo for the socks.
Always find the silver linning of your day and be thankful. You could have more and yet in the same hand you could have so much less.
    Happy day to everyone!
    Hugs

I will add - I feel "normal" with what I eat. It's my new normal.
We had a pot luck at work the other day and someone said, "You eat like bird! You need to eat more food." My reply was, "Oh this is my first plate, I'm going back for more!" I didn't, but no one knew.
When I eat out, I usually order off the appetizer menu or I split with my husband - usually 70% for him and 30% for me. We've never run across an establishment that said "no".
I just returned from a trip to France - I ate wonderful food, just not a lot of it. I ate wonderful French pastry every morning for Breakfast. I was on a Quest to find the best cafe au lait (coffee with milk) that I could. I ate REAL French Toast for dessert and it was wonderful - I savored every bite. I didn't eat it all, but I enjoyed every bit I took. I even managed to lose a couple of pounds because we walked every where - logging 20+ miles in two days.
My point with all this is...you're going to feel normal after surgery. Not right after surgery, but you will feel normal again. It took me to about 7 or 8 months to start feeling like something other than a weight loss surgery patient and more like me - a new and improved me.

My dress pants for work... I rushed to get ready this morning. 12 days off; hard to get back into my routine. Anyway - I picked a pair of pants out of my closet and I'm walking the hem off. They are at least a size and a half too big! They are HUGE. I am doing myself no favors wearing these pants but I had to get out of my house on time.
They will get washed and put into the donate pile this week. My daughter tells me I need to get new pants. I'm not shopping until Spring. There is plenty in my closet I can "shop" from until then.
And hugs. My daughter is 9; she can hug me and clasp her hands at my back. She is super excited she can do that. So I am.
