  1.    CB2 reacted to a post in a topic: How 'bout dem tigers???
  2. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. That is all i can say....wow!
  3. GOOOOOOOOOAAAALLL!!!!! 18 MONTHS AND 14 DAYS LATER I FINALLY REACHED MY initial GOAL... 85 lbs lost Started at 221 and today the scale showed 136:thumbup: I'M NO LONGER MORBIDLY OBESE, OBESE OR EVEN OVERWEIGHT. I HAVE A "NORMAL" BMI AND I'M AN "AVERAGE" WEIGHT FOR MY AGE AND HEIGHT. (which is old and short) I want to lose another 10 lbs. but I'm in no rush. It's the journey, not the destination. I run/jog/walk 6 miles, 6 days a week. I'm only taking 1 Rx a day (compared to 8) before the band. Life is good:lol: I can't imagine where I'd be without this gift. Love and Luck to all the Merry Losers.
  4. me me me I was banded by Dr. Richardson on 12 26 2007. I've lost 72 lbs to date. I don't see Dr. Richardson any more. I see Amber Plaisance (sp?) the phy assistant. I really don't go in much anymore. They think I'm done as I have lost 72% of my excess weight and therefore a SUCCESS. She is great. She does my fills. How are you doing?
  5. I know excersise is the key to losing more weight. I stayed the same for 4 months before I finally gave in and started moving. My doctor and nut have pretty much chaulked me up to "finished" in my weight loss journey...because I'm at 72% of my excess weight lost. But I'm not done yet. I know I can be better and I really want to be classified at a NORMAL weight and NORMAL bmi. That is 13lbs away. Walking/Jogging will get me there, hopefully before the end of 2009. The best part is I can eat more and even indulge in "goodies" now and again and the scale doesn't beat me down. I'm going to Las Vegas May 8th to see my older son graduate (finally) from UNLV. He and his wife haven't seen me since their wedding last May. I'm 23 lbs lighter and so much leaner due to running...I can't wait to see there faces when I get off the plane. bye now!
  6. Hi all, Just checking in. I survived my first 10K race. I finished in 1 hour 37 mins. Not too shabby for an old broad:tt2: i rested Sunday but I was at it again this am and did 5 miles. I don't know who I am!!! My new addiction, me thinks.
  7. Happy Easter all you Merry Losers, I'm happy to say I'm down 72lbs (still) It's slow going, but still going. I walking/jogging in the Crescent City Classic here in New Orleans tomorrow am. It's my first 10k and I'm just amazed I'm doing it. I walk/jog about 20 miles per week :lol:and I'm in better shape now than...well ever. My body wants to MOVE. It is awsome. I'd still like to lose maybe 15 more lbs but I'm in no rush. I'm wearing size 10 now that is down from a tight 18 and some 20's !!!! so life is good. I check in here every day...not much going on anymore. I still like seeing a new post from time to time and continue to wish all the Merry Losers good luck on the journey.
  8. I don't have a name for my band...I just say its the little miracle living inside of me. I'm down 71lbs since 12/26/2007. Hoping to get rid of 20 more this year. What made me respond to your post was your log in name. I'm a Spud mama too. My little dog (the love of my life) is named Spud. Good Luck with your Journey!!!
  9. I also have a torn rotator cuff and in an effort to avoid surgery...I got a cortisone (sp?) shot. Well.....after a week my band got sooo tight I needed a complete unfill. (for a couple of weeks) Lesson learned. Keep in touch and let us know how it goes. I have a feeling I'll need surgery soon, as I've had my limit of shots:scared2:
  10. It's my 1 year anniversary also. I was hoping to be able to say 70lbs gone today ...but alas, still only 68lbs lost. :tongue2: (I've been in the same category for far too long.) Thanksgiving, vacation and X-mas did me in. Hopefully this new year will bring a new motivation period to help get this last 20lbs off. I know exercise is the key. The problem is that I am comfortable at this size and I have enough clothes, and people keep telling me I look good... blah blah blah... We have a wedding tomorrow night and a New Year's Eve party...after that I'll get back to serious business of losing weight. I've said it before. This band is GREAT. It holds my place until I'm ready to start losing again. It's OK to take a break now and again. Normal weight people splurge. The difference is they don't keep splurging. We can do this. We must do this. I'll post pics from the wedding next week. Happy New Year all.
  11. All I can say is WOW!!!! Shirley you look WONDERFUL!
  12. That was just beautiful...Thank you. Merry Christmas to all the Merry Losers
  13. Just an update... The snow only lasted 4 short hours. :lol:But boy did we have fun.
  14. Let's see if this works. Sorry if it is too BIG!!!
  15. It's a Winter Wonderland!!! Out of the few people that showed up for work...nobody has a camera we can connect to a computer to send pics. It's so thick that they are closing all bridges and overpasses. The city doesn't own equipment to clear the streets of ice and snow. (pumps to pump out water from failed levees... yes) Looks like we will have the rest of the day off. Just waiting for the OK to go home. Thanks for the replys.
