I found this all natural product. It has helped me get my blood sugar under control. My fasting blood sugar was running 175-210. Now 90-125.Evenings before meals 105-110 I cant believe it is GREAT.It has lowered my meds alot. ladysplenda

You told me not to give up. Its hard food is our comfort.You lost a best friend and you are morning the loss. I eat when I am bord .Is there a support group or a TOPPS group in your area that can help. Keep busy busy busy. If you are 5"1 and you are 192 your body mass index is 36. If you have health problems,diabetic, high bloodpressure,high hdl these are called co morbities.They may be able to get you approved.I am battling with my insurance company now. My BMI is 36 also and I am diabetic. Call your insurace company and ask them if they cover it.The code is 43659. They may ask for a code for the procedure. Hope this helps. ladysplenda

I spent the whole day on the phone and on diffrent web sights.Talking to my docter and my HIGHMARK BCBS insurance company.They do not even have a code in the system for LAPBAND??????. But yet I know of someone very sweet that got hers approved. She has been a great help to me.Thanks for all the advice.Keep it coming. ladysplenda just call me RAMBO:rambo

I can believe this.I have done everything that they have asked.I have had eight months of doctor supervised diet and exersice class in whice I have to drive sixty miles to do. Mental evaluations.I am diabetic INSULIN DEPENDENT and other co morbities. They spent almost $5000.00 for my meds last year alone. Thier excuse NOT fda approved. It is and has been since 2001. No scientific evidence. Does not improve health outcomes. Intervention is not proven to be applicable outside a reasearch setting. WHAT A CROCK OF ----. The docter that is going to do my Lapband(If I can ever get it approved} Took out my gallbladder. Piece of cake. Do not put it off till it gets bad they may have to do a open procedure. OUCH ladysplenda

Possibly they will cover VGB. The way I ask was if this procedure is not covered. You say you cover gastric banding please tell me if there are any doctors in the area that do the procedure that you cover.They could not orwould not tell me. Thanks ladysplenda

Got another turn down today. Now they say they will cover gastric banding but not Lapband it is not FDA approved.YES IT IS and it is the same thing AM I WRONG. ladysplenda

Are you close to Nacogdoches.Dr Thomas does lapband.He is in Network for United here But the surgery center is out of Network. Surgery would cost $200. I may change to UHC Jan 1st because I am having triuble getting approved by BCBS. Linda

I was told Highmark BCBS has been covering gastric banding for the last month. But yet once again TODAY I have been denied.They will cover Gastric Banding now But not Lapband what is gasticbanding if not Lapband.They say it is not FDA approved.My doctor said yes it is.I have Plenty of co morbitities. I have had six months of doctor supervised nutrion counseling and a mental evaluation for GAStic Bypass. I dont want GAStric Bypass. Thank's for letting me VENT.:angry Ladysplenda

I am having the same problem.As of today I have been denied twice.There reason this time was that they will cover gastric banding but not Lapband because it is not FDA approved.The employees of Highmark were issued a memo a month ago that Railroad employees will be covered for Gastric Banding.What do they think gastric banding is if not lapband.No one does a simple band anymore.My doctors office said it is FDA approved.I am diabetic and I have had six months of nutrion couseling and a mental evaluation.This is what they require for gastric Bypass to be approved.Im scared of Gastric Bypass.I was sure after I heard that they were paying for gastric Banding that thuis time I would get approved. IM NOT GIVING UP YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER.I was told to have my doctors office call the number on my letter of turn down and to have him tell them it is the samething as gastric banding and it is FDA approved.Do you or your mate work for the railroad??
