  1. Cherie...I'm not Daniella! Was this meant for someone else?
  2. I was hoping before my surgery to drop 20lbs. I am about the same weight as when I started this process and so disappointed in myself. A lot of people here before they were banded were able to lose large amounts of weight even though they were not able to keep it off. I have never been able to lose more than 20lbs in the last 15 years. It makes me nervous that maybe I am not disciplined enough for the band and I'm scared of failing at this. Desperately scared. If there is anyone out there who feels the same or who was subsequently successful post band who is like me I would love to hear from you. Ironically my surgeon is not a big fan if the sleeve but he has a lap band himself and said if I show up each month and eat slow I should be fine but I'm not sure I'm cut out for this. My surgery is November 4th! Thanks.
  3. Maybe he has a friend like him for you!!!
  4. After doing the pre op requirements it took about 2 weeks to hear back. I had empire but in ny
  5. I have told only my husband and one friend from work. Husband says he's supportive but hasn't done one thing to research the band or come to any of my dr appointments. I kind of always in life have to forge ahead on my own since I was a kid so this is no different. Right now I have so much shame about my weight and an so afraid that I won't stick to the plan and lose nothing. I will likely tell my sister right before surgery in case I have complications but I will play it by ear. Good luck. I agree with someone who said that as you are successful you may be more inclined to disclose it.
  6. I know that I cannot take ibuprofen anymore after I get my band. I am trying to get all my post op things together now. Should I buy liquid Tylenol or does anyone know of adult chewables?
  7. Congratulations!!!

  12. Why are you not taking your pain meds? If you need them take them. Being in pain is very difficult on the body. Just follow the directions on timing and you won't get addicted. Don't be a martyr!!! Lol
  13. Can anyone recommend a good post band cookbook? I know of a lot of resources online but I do like an old fashioned paper book.
  14. Good luck! I'm scheduled for November 4 th
  15. Anyone know if protein shakes are covered by insurance for the pre op or post op time? I seem to remember there was some company that would check your insurance for you. Anyone know its name?
