  1. Hi Marsha! You will definitely find all the information you need here on LBT. Good luck with your surgery and let us know if you have any questions!
  2. Hi everyone! I am doing well too. I have been using Body Fortress powder from WalMart. It's pretty reasonable ($14 for 2 pounds) and has 26g Protein in one scoop. It comes in vanilla and chocolate, but the only one I have tried is vanilla. I add sugar free Chocolate syrup, fruit, etc. to change the flavor when I get bored with vanilla. I just can't afford $35 - $40 for other brands! Glad you are both doing well. Congratuations on the weight loss Randall. 12 pounds is a great start!!

I am the opposite of all you other long, naturally curly haired people. I had my hair short a few years ago after having it long for a while and found it much more toublesome short than long. With it long, I wash, put in anti-frizz stuff, let it air dry while I put on my make up and do the rest of my morning routine, then add a little finishing gel and go. With it short, I had to put in straightener, blow dry the curl out, spray and style. The whole routine added a good 30 minutes to my morning! So, I let it grow again after about 6 months of this. When I decided to go short, I worked with my hairdresser and did it in stages as was suggested. I do think it would have freaked me out to go from mid back to ear length at one time. That's a lot of hair!!!
  4. Sex

I waited about 2 weeks too, but no time frame was specifically given by my doctor. I have read on these threads where people have done it a lot sooner than that. There was even someone who did it the day after! I would definitely go by my doctor's orders though, if he addressed it. If not, play it by ear and see how you feel. There are ways to have sex without it putting too much stress on the abdominal area.
  5. I would definitely stand a better chance of getting him to eat fruit than celery. But of course, he prefers citrus. Maybe if I fix a nice big bowl of chopped mixed fruits and put it in the fridge, then drop the hint about oral, he would get on board. (I wonder how many men reading this thread have added celery to their diets?) As for the meat and potatoes man, my ex was the same and it definitely made a HUGE difference in taste. And not in a good way. I wonder if any foods make a difference in the way a woman tastes? Gentlemen???? Care to comment?
  6. LOL Wonder how I can discreetly get DH to read this thread so maybe he will start eating celery...
  7. The question is...Have you learned anything?
  8. She may also be having issues with her self worth. Most people who are overweight don't have very high self esteem and she may still be dealing with those issues even though she has lost the weight.
  9. Hmm...haven't tried to "get at" mine lately. Maybe things have improved without my even knowing it! Might need to check that out!
  10. I'm right there with you, Huggy Bear. I feel like I am starving!! I am trying very hard to "be good" and not eat the wrong things, but it is a struggle when you feel like you are hungry all the time. I have about a month to go before my fill. My weight loss is still going down mostly, but not as fast as it was in the beginning. I am just trying to hang on! Hope the next 8 days pass quickly for you and you hit your "sweet spot" in a hurry!!
  11. I've been doing the same thing! DH thinks I am crazy to cook all this food that I can't eat, but I am really enjoying it too.
  12. The taste I was talking about was of the numbing stuff. I would try the cinnamon trick though, if DH would eat cinnamon!:frown:
  13. I need to check that book out. My DH has been trying to get me to do this for 9 years and I just can't! I did it once years ago (before him) and have no idea how. Thanks for the info!
  14. Didn't make goal, but down 2 more pounds! Congratulations to those who made it! 15. I seem to be on the up side of things the past couple of days, but only after having a MAJOR meltdown Monday afternoon and almost telling my husband to move out!! Not a good thing. He doesn't understand this roller coaster AT ALL and gets very frustrated sometimes because he never knows who his wife is going to be when he comes home after work. Maybe I should make him come on here and read so he knows I'm not the only one losing m mind!!
  16. Welcome to the club, Susan!! And to think, "whore" is something we all tried to avoid in school.
  17. I'm in! Didn't do so well with my last challenge, but I also set my goal with an earlier band date in mind and that didn't work out. So, being a little more conservative this time and keeping in mind I won't even have my first fill until 8/5. Good luck everyone!! 18. That's what I was thinking. Mine never shrink in cup size more than maybe half a cup size, they just get longer and longer.
  19. I feel like I am "super sized" in that area, so I am thinking I will definitly check into it when PS becomes a realistic option for me. I am so self conscious about it, I would even do that over a boob job if I had to choose. Dh says it isn't as unusually large as I sem to think it is, but I have seen pics in magazines he has and I know mine doesn't look anything like that! I kinda relate mine to a Bassat Hound.
  20. Ha! Ha! How about, "More cushion for the pushin'?"
  21. I went by one of the lists on here and ended up spending a little unnecessary money just because of the way my doctor did things. Check with your surgeon before buying any type of bandages, because if he uses adhesive to close you up, you won't need the gauze or tape. Also, I only had to do 24 hours of clear liquids and could then move to full liquids, so didn't really need all of the broth, juice, etc I had bought to last 2 weeks. That was my fault though because I wasn't as insistant about getting clear answers to my questions as I should have been when discussing the post-op diet with his PA.
  22. My doctor is also part of the 6-8 weeks group. If you were able to get one sooner, you are very lucky. I am also feeling hunger pains, but fighting them as best I can. Protein shakes help as does water. Hoping that continues until I can finally be filled 8/5!
  23. I try not to give myself time goals. I pick a weight (my first mini goal right now is 298, which for me is 30 pounds and under 300) and shoot for it. How about siging up for some of the weight loss challenges on here? I think the newest is Labor Day. With that in mind, I would think 2 pounds per week at this point since surgery would be a good start. And if you lose more, all the better!!
  24. The reason we aren't supposed to eat solids this soon is because of the stomach movement involved in digestion. I would think (but I am not a doctor) if you had done any signifcant damage, you would be in pain. Definitely get back on track tomorrow though and call your doctor immediately if you do start experiencing any pain. You can't change what you have done, all you can do is better tomorrow. Hope everything is ok!
