  1. Thanks for the info ! I will have to check that out !!! do you know if the port will cause the alarm to go off in the airport????
  2. Hi All I am new to this site and just love everyone's input/suggestions and humor !!! I was banded May 23 in Boston, MA, and so far so good (35 pounds to date) Two things I have been wondering about: 1- why do so many people go out of the country for their bands? Are they not readily available??? 2- why do so many people pay privately??? I thought obesity was a medical condition and therefore covered by insurance? Am I just lucky or what??? Keep Smiling !
  3. Amy, You will feel better each and every day. I did not expect the pain to be so bad, but you will get through it !! I never had the gas everyone talks about, but boy oh boy, did I feel as if someone was sticking a knife right into my gut ! By week one you will be up and about. I went to work 8 days later. Keep the fatith and just know you are in the road to a brand new you !! Hi everyone-new to this website. Thanks for all the words of encouragement !
  4. OK, now I have seen everything. There sure is alot of sharing going on here....... Thanks for making me laugh !!!!
  5. hi. I think you should be ok. I was banded the week prior to you (May 23) and have had three fills to date (total 2cc). The first day is back to liquids, but mushy for the next day or two. It is well worth it !!! Good Luck and have a great vacation !!!
  6. Hi. I am new to this, so I hope I am doing this right. I was banded May 23rd, 2005, and I also have crohn's disease. I had a complete workup prior, and my docs would not approve for gastric bypass, but because banding is reversable in the event the crohn's disease gets worse, my insurance and docs went ahead with it. I couldn't be happier. Got my 3rd fill today. I am up to 2ccs, and have lost 31 pounds. Good Luck !!
