Nothing new here, just counting the days until Sept 16th-my consultation with the surgeon - can't wait!! Took my two dd's to the movies to see Madagascar ~ hmm it was ok, some funny parts, a little too much adult humor for my 7yr old - lots of questions if you know what I mean. Nothing else shaking around here.

I am here, I am here!!
Sorry I have been MIA, Busy, busy, busy!! Getting ready for back to school so I haven't been on lately. We just found out that school will be delayed until the 14th because of a mold problem in dd's school-eww. Sounds like everyone is doing GREAT! It's going to take forever for me to catch up on these posts and I am going to start right now!! Until next time!

Remember?
One of my favorite memories were of me and my mom every Saturday for lunch would make Tuna fish sandwiches with a glass of milk and sit down to watch CREATURE DOUBLE FEATURE. Man I loved those times. Also, My favorite toy was my BABY ALIVE, the doll you can feed this goopy stuff to and then she would wet her diaper. She ended up getting maggots in her because of the goopy stuff.....how traumatizing! Do we see a pattern of eating here?? No wonder I need the band.

I am really not sure about stretching out the band - I am still in the early stages before surgery, but I do know you are not supposed to ever drink while eating. After eating solids - Protein, veggies, carbs, you are supposed to wait 60-90 minutes before drinking anything. It washes the food through too quickly and you end up hungry too soon. Hope this helps, also I have heard on this board that with good restiction it is very hard to over eat-but of course I don't know this for sure. hope this helped, even a litttle

Wrong Choice??
Hi Carrie, I am sorry to hear you are so down. If it helps-you are an inspiration to me - 15 pounds down - think that's GREAT! I am counting the days until I can get my band. You are only 1 week post op, I think everything you are feeling is normal, but try to remember how you felt that made you want the band in the first place. You can do this!!

Lisa Lisa Bo Bisa !
sorry it took me so long, I have been out all weekend. Anyways.... I went to my seminar yesterday and it was everything I had hoped. Dr. Onopchenko was very, VERY informative. He didn't sugar coat anything, but at the same time he gave us such hope. He does lap band and bypass but did not try to sway people either way, he gave us the information and now it's up to us to make an educated, well informed decision. I knew that I wanted the Lap Band before the seminar but know I am totally sure this is for me...yayyyyy!!! It was really comforting to know that I had already learned so much on my own from this forum and other research. Although Dr.O clarified some things, most, but not all of what he had to say about the band I had seen posted from people here. All I can say about the bypass is NO WAY! It is way too scary and drastic for me. Thanks for asking Eileen!! Lisa
