I'm so sorry, I had to wait for the boss man to leave LOL

I went to the seminar with my DH and all I can say is I'm in the process of getting all my sheeeeeat together. I am going with the lapband, well thats IF everything goes well.

I really liked Dr. Ballantyne, he seemed funny and down to earth AND he doesn't beat around the bush.

He spoke about how the band won't work for people who aren't ready for it and I can understand it more now than ever. There was one guy in the meeting who asked if he can drink beer, well you all know the answer but here this guy was thinking of ways to get around it. He blurted out well I'll just have to switch to wine. I almost smacked him on the back of the head and said.... Don'tcha get it.... CALORIES !!!!!!! it all boils down to calories. I personally think if you go into something like this with thoughts of how to cheat before your even operated on, you might as well join Jenny Craig.

I am so ready!! I'm going to fast tomorrow morning for my blood work.

I've made a check list so that when I go for my consolation on Sept 6th I'm all set.

Thanks so much for asking, your the best!!!!

How are you two doing?

Ivan, I guess I'll be seeing you on September 1st ?

Glad to hear that all went well! I am attending my seminar this Saturday.. **CAN'T WAIT!**

I had a full blood work up in May, do you think that will be acceptable or will they need another one? Anything to make the whole process go faster.

That guy at the seminar seems like he is just looking for a quick fix - not a life long change......let me tell you, I love a good maurgurita(sp?) but I have no problem giving them up forever if it means my health and quality of life will change for the better.

thanks for letting us know.

Lisa

Well, since you asked, I hit a freegin plateau and I am ready to bust with frustration. I have a recurring dream of taking the scale outside and wacking it with a baseball bat several times, then pouring kerosine over the remains and tossing match.

Other than that, things are well.

If its any consolation I once threw our expensive scales in the bin right before the rubbish men came around because it didnt say what I wanted it to, lol.

Lisa I know you'll get alot of of the seminar. Write questions down b/4 you go. There were a few I forgot to ask the doctor but when I see him in Sept. I will ask. One thing about me is, if anyone is going to cut me open they must answer every stupid question I have lol. Because as stupid as they are to others, they are very REAL to me.

Ivan !!! your body needs time to catch up from that wonderful 25 lb loss. Give it a few weeks and you'll see. Are you working out at the gym? you could be building muscle you know and thats the key to burning the fat in the long run. How do you feel? any problems? want me kick the doc in the dingleberries for ya? You know us joisey gals.

Jachut, don't blame you for throwing that scale out the window LOL.

Well all my appointments are final.

Psy Evaluation is the 22nd

Nutritionalist is the 25th

EKG, Chest Xray, Blood work is all tomorrow the 12th

(I didn't get a change to get the blood work done yesterday or today)

I will work on the forms he gave me this weekend

and just sit back and wait for the consolation.... gosh I hope all goes well and I pass, especially the Psy evaluation... I mean I'm nuts already so what can they possibly write down LOL :)

Delarla, what part of BC did you live?

(I always said everyone's got a little jersey in em, weather they know it or not lol)

Ivan what was the psycho evaluation like? did you go to the ones that Dr. B. requested you go to? Should I bake a cake LOLOL :) jk

Thanks :)

Eileen

Okay then,

Today, I had my EKG (((E must stand for embarassing))) nothing like a strange woman fondling your boob for 10 minutes and your boob looking like its enjoying it.... YUCK and....egads.

Chest Xray ((( also E must stand for embarassing))) nothing like 3 YOUNG guys working the controls and having one of those heavy belts around your waist that barely fits and keeps falling off b/c my GUT is to freakin big... AND those thin gowns where every nook and cranny shows.

And blood work, ALL 15 Vials.... felt like I lost a pound....oooohoooohoooh LOL that was funny b/c the technician looked at me like what the hell is wrong with you LOL. I explained what I was going for and he was like COOOL !!! :)

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it :)

The psych eval was very easy. They just want to make sure there aren't any profound eating disorders. And that you really understand that getting the band does not solve all of lifes problems.

I had everything done at the HUMC facilities that he listed on the forms. It was to my advantage to do it that way for insurance and convenience reasons.

Ivan !!! your body needs time to catch up from that wonderful 25 lb loss. Give it a few weeks and you'll see. Are you working out at the gym?

Yes, I go 6 days a week and do about 45 min of cardio each day.
LOL, just read about your EKG, darn those boobs!!LOL

It was the only part of me that was happy about the entire ordeal... how embarassing LOL When God plays little jokes like that, all you can do is laugh along with it lol.
