  1. How are you doing @@lulabelle607? I was in a lot of pain for the first few days, but much better now. Having no trouble getting in m protein and water and now getting around much better.
  2. Update: I'm doing well. Was really hurting those first few days, but it's eased up a lot and now I'm just a little sore. I'm able to eat and drink without difficulty. No problem getting in my Protein and Water. Had my first follow up with my doctor a couple of days ago and he says everything looks good. Anyway, I'm feeling lots better and am moving around easier. Oh, and food has not really bothered me. I mean it looks good, sounds good, but I can do without it.
  3. What time is your surgery @@lulabelle607 ? I go in at 5:15 for surgery at 7:30 AM. So early! I'm getting excited now. I imagine I'll be nervous tomorrow morning.
  4. Thanks folks. I really appreciate the well wishes and encouragement!
  5. Today is my 55th birthday! All 3 of my girls have come together from around the country to be here for my birthday and my surgery! My RNY is Tuesday, Nov. 25! I'm beginning to get a little nervous. And the food commercials on tv have been absolutely killing me! My youngest got pizza last night....smelled so good. Starting to worry if I can really follow through and make these needed changes.
  6. Welcome! I'm glad you were able to overcome your depression. I can totally relate because I suffer from clinical depression (for several years now) and I isolate myself at home and don't go anywhere unless necessary, have no motivation to shower, workout, etc. It is debilitating. Good luck to you on this journey!
  7. I'm getting RNY on Tuesday as well! Wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery! The main thing I've heard is walk, walk, walk.
  8. Go to myfitnesspal.com. It's an easy way to track everything you eat and drink and it tells you how much Protein, carbs, sugars, etc. you're getting. I use it every day to track my eating.
  9. I just looked at mine though and it's not showing on there....it may not show until after the surgery (mine is Nov. 25). Sorry. But if it makes you feel any better mine was really quick.
  10. Go to mymedicare.gov and register with them if you haven't yet. You can check the most recent claims on that site.
  11. I'm doing gastric bypass....because of the amount of weight I have to lose and my comorbidities: pre-diabetic, high blood pressure, sleep-apnea. I just feel like I need the malabsorption to get where I need to go. That's my personal choice and my surgeon agrees with me.
  12. I'm right there with you! My surgery is November 25! Good luck to you!
  13. I'm in Ohio with Medicare and Medicaid (with a spenddown). I had to do 3 months but I don't know if that was the Medicare requirement or just the program I'm working with.
  14. Oh Pik! So sorry to hear that you're still having problems! I hope your issues get resolved completely soon so you can enjoy your new tool!
  15. Ha! This made me chuckle! Congrats to you! Can't wait to cross mine again!!
  16. Yay! So glad to hear that you're feeling better finally!
  17. Wow, that totally sucks! I really hope you're able to find a way through this and get your surgery! Keep us updated!
  18. Wellbutrin XR is an extended release type of tablet. It's meant to be digested over a longer period of time. So, it looks like you may need to contact your prescribing doctor and get Wellbutrin in a different formulation or change meds or something. Hope this helps. I'm on Wellbutrin XR as well and will have to talk to my doctor about this prior to surgery.
  19. Yay! I'm excited for you! Can't wait 'til it's my turn!
  20. Poor Pik! You have really had a rough time with all of this! I hope you get some relief soon and start feeling good again!
  21. OH, just one week away! I'm excited for you! Good luck for a smooth surgery and recovery!
  22. Beautiful! You are so lucky to live there!
  23. How exciting for you! I hope everything goes smoothly for your surgery and recovery and I hope your son's biopsy goes well.
  24. That's incredible! Your results are obviously exceptional! I can't hope to match that kind of progress when I get my surgery! I wish you continued success on your weight loss journey!
  25. Looks like I'm almost right there with you. Today is my visit with a vascular specialist. Once I'm cleared by this doctor, they can submit to my insurance. I hope we hear from insurance quickly! Almost there!
