  1. Jenn B., have you had your appt with Dr. Zee yet? He may have a few more things for you to take care of. I had to see a Cardiologist, Vascular Dr., and get a colonoscopy. I had to have an echocardiogram before I could get cardiology clearance. He's very thorough. But, you'll love everybody in the office! Hopefully you won't have to jump through these hoops and everything goes according to plan for you.
  2. I'm using Pure Protein from Walmart. I've only tried the vanilla and chocolate so far but I like it pretty well. I like to mix blueberries or bananas in the vanilla and I'll throw a banana in the chocolate as well. Costs about $18 for a 2 pound jug.
  3. Hang in there and keep obsessing with me! Our turn is coming!
  4. Hi Don! Welcome! Donald was my youngest brother's name, so I'll have no trouble remembering you. Sounds like you're doing great...congratulations! I wish you continued success and smooth sailing!
  5. Best of luck to you!
  6. That might be a better choice NewJen, but whichever surgery you choose, I wish you the best of luck.
  7. Well I'm still pre-op by more than a month and I don't know how to pass the time. I obsess about the surgery and come on here and see what everyone else is talking about. Sorry, i'm no help.
  8. My stats are similar to yours. Top weight 317, CW 307, goal 150. Like you, I've been able to lose 50 to 70 lbs on my own in the past, but haven't been able to keep at it. I decided on the RNY gastric bypass because, like Ginger Snaps said, I think it gives me the best chance for maximum success. Good luck to you whichever you decide!
  9. Smooth sailing all the way! Looking forward to you updating us later about how well things went!
  10. Miaoreo, thanks for the info! I didn't know that! Do you know what their return policy is, if for instance I buy a bra and it doesn't fit right?
  11. I don't have my surgery date yet, but I'm pretty sure we're looking at sometime in September. My surgeons office can submit to my insurance the middle of August. I'll be having gastric bypass as well and started my process the middle of May. I don't think it'll seem real to me until I get my surgery date!
  12. You look amazing! Thanks for sharing your story! It definitely helps people like me who still have surgery ahead of us!
  13. Wow ladies, you are amazing and inspirational! Carol, your story starts out so much like mine! My starting weight is 317, I'm 54 y/o, and 5 ft. 4 in. The high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and knee pain are all familiar to me. I can't walk for very long and stairs are a real pain! So to hear about your success is truly inspiring to me! I'm pre-op RNY and hope to have my surgery in September. I'm excited and hopeful to have the kind of success you've had!
  14. Shouldn't be long now! I used to buy Lane Bryant all the time, but now I'm in an area where there's not a Lane Bryant nearby, so I am out of luck.
  15. Jtickle, I'm super tempted to take you up on the offer, but I know I wouldn't be in them long enough to make it worthwhile. Expecting to have my surgery in September. I love Lane Bryant bras!
  16. I agree with jtickle and terry! Definitely follow your doctor's instructions! You don't want to create complications for yourself!
  17. Congratulations! I'm so excited for you! Please do keep us updated!
  18. I'm excited for you! Please keep us updated!
  19. Congratulations Mimi! I'm glad things worked out for you!
  20. Happy birthday! Hope everything went well for your surgery! Looking forward to your update!
  21. Awesome! Good luck to you! Please keep us posted!
  22. Hey Pik! Thinking of you and wondering how you're feeling today! Hope you're much improved!
  23. I read and enjoyed the blog, but curious to know how you're doing post-op! How's your pain? Are you walking? Are you home now? Did everything go as expected?
