  1. Follow up with surgeon and he said he's is not concerned. No sign of any infection and spleen is only slightly larger than when I had surgery. Prescribed diet pills for a couple months to help get me out of the stall. Not sure how I feel about that.

@proudgrammy I totally agree with you - diet pills?

I've tried the 5 day reboot, nothing. I've tried juice fasts with protein added, nothing. So I'm at a point of unexplained plateau. Lab work all came back normal and he wasn't concerned with anything on my CT Scan.

Thanks Kathy! I know I've come a long way and when I look at a before pic, it puts things in perspective. However, I still have so much more to lose and until I get down at least one more size, I won't be truly happy. :/

  2. Results of my CT Scan show an enlarged spleen and liver. Follow up with my surgeon is scheduled. Please say a little prayer. Thanks!

    Over It

Hey Olivia! You are definitely not alone! I have been stuck at 264 since the middle of May, so 3 months at the same weight. Yes, I am excited and can Celebrate losing 90 lbs but I believe I should be far more along by now. I am beyond discouraged at this point. I agree with others who have said to put the scale away, it will just continue to frustrate you if you're not losing as quickly as you'd like. Good luck!
  5. @@kgunchic I'm in the exact same boat as you so don't feel bad, you are not alone! I am 9 months out and haven't lost a single pound in 2 months. In the past month, I've been eating all sorts of foods that I know I shouldn't be. My worst fear was that I'd go back to my old habits. I find some meals I can get full on a small amount and others I need more than usual to feel full. I've also been snacking between meals, picking at my daughter's lunch/dinner as I'm making it, etc. I know I will have to do the 5 day pouch test at this point in order to get over this rut I'm in. It's going to be hard to do but I keep telling myself that it's only 5 days and they will pass. Good luck!
  6. Still haven't broke 100 lbs at 7 mos out. Grrr!!! Been stuck at 263 for a month.

October 2014 sleevers check in please!

Yesterday was my 6 month surgiversary and I am down 91 lbs. I was hoping to be 100 lbs down by the time 6 months rolled around but I keep stalling. I started using My Fitness Pal which helps me see what I eat every day and since then, the weight loss has started to come off again, ableit slow. I eat approximately 1,000 calories each day and walk every day.

    Tortillas?

Yes, I started eating a tortilla on occasion around 2 months out. They help satisfy my need for a sandwich. I use La Tortilla Factory brand which have 6 net carbs. They are a little chewier than other brands but tasty.

      une nouvelle vie

Stalls are awful, aren't they? I had one for THREE MONTHS. Just in the last few weeks has it let go an I'm back on the downward movement. Change up your exercise a little? That's what did it for me

October 2014 sleevers check in please!

I am 5 months out and have been stalling like crazy. I went the entire month of February stuck at 285 lbs so I went back to the full liquid stage for a couple days and that helped lose 5 lbs. Since then I've only lost another 5 and have been stuck again at 275 for the past 3 weeks. I've increased my exercise and I eat 1000-1200 calories a day. I'm getting 70-80 grams of Protein and I get my liquid in so I know that's not an issue. Also, my hair. My poor hair! It was thin before surgery and has only gotten worse since. I took my hairdressers advice and switched to a sulfate-free shampoo/conditioner and started using a hot oil treatment. I'm thinking hair extensions or a top piece might be in my future!
  14. My favorite Quest bar is the Cookies n' cream. I like it so much I bought an entire box when they were on sale at GNC ($24.99 for a box of 12). The apple pie and chocolate chip cookie dough are also pretty good.
  15. I can't describe how good it feels to go down a size! I actually look forward to shopping for clothes now. Can't wait until the next size drop! Woot!!!

  16. Down another 4 lbs in two weeks! This makes my total loss 80 lbs! Next goal is 20 lbs in two months for my vacation in Myrtle Beach! I think I can, I think I can!

when i got stuck... i stopped what i was doing at the gym and started something new. My big thing was Zumba... so i stopped and started doing weights... Not heavy.. and started Elliptical.. How's your food intake? Try and up your protein and cut more carbs. Good luck

I don't have a problem getting protein in but I honestly haven't been keeping track of my intake of calories, fat and carbs and I know I need to do it. I'm trying to make that effort starting today.

  19. JerzyTomato74

    Protein Recommendations

Everyone has different tastes so the sweetness of Protein shakes will vary based on your taste buds. I'm not a big fan of very sweet Protein Shakes either. I drink Premier Protein RTD's which contain 30g of protein per shake and I also like Syntrax Nectars vanilla Bean Torte.

    Feeling a little guilty

I've eaten a Fiber One cookie and it satisfies my sweet tooth. I agree with @@finediva that I had this surgery to control my out of control eating but not to never have little treats every now and then. I live by the "everything in moderation" motto now. As long as you aren't eating the whole cake and just needing a taste every now and then, I see no problem with it.
  21. Little over 3 months, couple of stalls but 68 lbs gone!

      JerzyTomato74

That's great! How are you feeling? These stalls are terrible! LOL I lost another 2 lbs for a total of 70! That's where I had hoped to be at the end of January.

    3. Packerfan61964

      Packerfan61964

Yes, they are Jerzy!! But I am glad its 70+ lbs gone and not gained for the both of us. Im feeling good for the most part. All of my issues are mental and not physical.......fighting the old demons that made me fat...ya know?!?!?

  22. Does anyone have any suggestions for this? I've tried a little unsweetened applesauce and it was ok but I'm trying to find more ideas to give it some flavor.
  23. I couldn't drive for 2 weeks post op per my surgeon's instructions and in the very beginning I just slow walked around the house for exercise. At 1 week post op I was allowed to get on the treadmill and walk a normal pace. Then at 6 weeks post op I was allowed to start to do pretty much anything.
  24. Finally met my first post-op goal...under 300!!!

  25. I feel like I'm eating the same things over and over and I'm getting bored. I feel like I can eat anything meaning my appetite is good. I'm also able to eat about 3/4 cup of food. I have found that foods don't taste funny to me. I read that was a possible side effect but so far so good. I'm also finding that there isn't anything, so far, that my sleeve doesn't agree with. I want to see my NUT again because I feel like they only prepare you for the first couple of weeks post-op but not how to eat once you're passed the phases. So, anyone around week 7, what are you eating?
