My Dr. told me today that I am cured of high blood pressure. I had surgery Dec. 30. What a blessing.

It gets better, I promise. I felt the exact same way. I had no idea how it would become a job to drink and I still couldn't meet my Protein or h2o quotas. It took me about 6 wks post op until I finally was able to get in my liquids. I was terrified to try new foods. My husband really helps me. I am almost 2 months post op and I can only take in about 1 1/2 oz at a time of food. I snack on fage 0 with a packet of stevia, 1% milk, and the Premier Protein (premade) is the only Protein Shake I can get down. Take it one day at a time. It will get easier and you will be so thankful you did this for yourself. I'm proud of you, it sure isn't easy.

Well it's been a long, fun, hard road. I have to say during my weight loss stage it was exciting to see the scale go down every single day. I was one of the lucky ones who did not encounter any stalls. God only gives us what we can handle.....I beleive He knew I wasn't strong enough for that. I have been blessed not to lose my hair. The only rough road I had was the first two weeks post op and taking my medications in liquid form. I have to say honestly I would love to keep losing it was that exciting. Now my road begins to learn how to maintain. I am scared to death of gaining anything back although my NUT tells me that a 5pound plus or minus loss or gain is normal. I don't have many before pics I was too embarrassed to have my picture taken. But here is at least one before and a few after. Good luck to all on this WLS I wish you all the best. Hi! I'm Theresa, and I will be 5 months post-op on the 24th. Today I hit the 90 lb. mark! Gastric bypass was the best decision of my life, and I cannot be more thankful for this journey!

I woke up in the middle of the night in horror that my wedding ring was not on my hand.
I NEVER remove it. So I'm about at goal at 141 and have lost 2 pounds in the past two weeks and it must have come off my fingers too.
I have retraced my weekend steps and left my number with every place I went. I posted on CL and lets just say I'm not holding my breath.
And I'm not stressing over it either. My wonderful husband said .. Well it's been 16 years and we should Renew our vows anyway.
What a man. It means a lot to me because I had it made for me from family jewelry. But I am realistic about getting something like that back.
And just knowing that it slipped off my skinny finger kind of makes me giggle.
Very expensive lesson learned.

60 pounds to go and 80 pounds to be at my fantasy weight goal!! Super stoked!

Yesterday was 5 months since my VSG and as of this morning I've lost exactly 90 pounds! Only 90 more to reach my goal weight of 140. I'm so happy and so grateful for this tool. I'm starting to think I may actually make it to goal.

Hello there! My surgery is 12/30/2014. I am very excited for a fresh start of my life. I have high BP, GERD, insomnia, and some bad back issues. My last straw was when the neurologist said that a spinal fusion was my only option. I refused the surgery and chose to finally do something about my weight. I really look forward to being off all of these medications. I want to play with my babies and not pay for it in pain later. I am ecstatic about my future. I am excited for all of you. I appreciate you all sharing the good and bad of what I will be facing soon.

My surgery went great. Last night was rough. This morning is a lot better. I just took my first slow walk. Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

Ok tomorrow morning is my Day. I can't sleep. I just want to do this! Anyone else getting ready for tomorrow? Now I'm just reading this forum to keep my head in the game!

I did not sleep the night before my surgery bc I was so excited. I tried for ever and finally gave up. Read on here and Facebook. Double checked my bag.. I will say I took my laptop but never used it bc I sleep when I wasn't walking. Good luck and rest while you can

My surgery is at 12 tomorrow..... I am getting all nervous. I haven't been anxious until today. I fear I will fail at this too. I wish I could get out of my head. Thank you everyone for all of your stories. They really do inspire me.

I'm two weeks post-op and just got weighed at my PCP. I'm down 20 pounds and I still can't believe it. Ahhhh! ????

My surgery went great yesterday and I'm headed home now! I want to thank everyone for their prayers and support!

It's been six days since my panniculectomy and belly button fix and I got my drains and stitches out! The surgeon was impressed with how well it's progressing and with how good the results are. I go back in a week to check in. I'm so glad I did this for myself!

I did well because I can't really over eat without having extreme nausea.
Eating for me now has no pleasure--it's only for nutrition.
My only "cheat" I'd say was a few Hershey's kisses. No alcohol for me per my surgeon. He says none ever---but I know other patients of his who have tried it when they're about a year or more out.
I don't think I'll chance it for now.

Well, I survived the holidays. My surgery was November 6th, and as of today, I hit the 50 lb weight loss mark. Saturday was the hardest day so far with a big family gathering. I even had my first alcoholic drink since surgery. It must've been light on alcohol, because I was fine. How are y'all doing?

I have not experienced any dumping. I sometimes with get pain in my chest if I eat too fast or nauseous if my pouch does not like a particular food. I can tell usually with a bite or two if that is going to happen and then I stop wait til it passes and get something else a bit later. I will tell you the first couple weeks of eating regular food (still high Protein, low/no carbs, low fat) that are a bit tougher because you really have to learn how to eat all over again. Sometimes you go to fast or don't chew well enough you can get some discomfort. That usually happens when you are not paying enough attention. I never over eat, I measure everything at home so when we do go out I have a pretty good idea of the portion size I can tolerate.
You will have to keep us posted on your surgery date and recovery.

A couple of time I've put something between my legs to hold and it fell through.

This morning I filled about 3 large trash bags with clothing (about 60 pieces) and donated them to Goodwill. Nothing fit anymore! It felt really good to make the donation!
