Merry Christmas!
Sorry guys ignore my original post - a friend of mine who had her band done a couple of years ago only had to wait 3 weeks for her band but I had my consultation yesterday and it seems waiting periods have blown out to 4 months now - YIKES! Looks like I won't be getting banded till the new year..:omg:

Hi Denise- don't be upset..the fact you are having trouble seeing the results probably just means that you are losing weight evenly across your body.. try taking your measurements as well as photos !

Unfriendly Friends
Suzzzie..what about if you pick the restaurant for going out? Or alternatively hold a dinner at your place for you and your friends - that way you can choose what to cook and your friend won't have an excuse not to come? Maybe if you invite other people to the social gathering your friend will come because she won't want to feel left out.

Your assistance is needed, Dr. Freud...(warning XXX Content)
Just in response to Telecia.. I personally believe dreams are made up of memories or thoughts that our subconscious forms into dreams.. any chance you had recently seen your friend..had a craving for (or eaten) toblerone..and fantasised about sex in general? (I'm sure the last part's true cos all men fantisise about sex during the day) hehe

I don't have dreams of a sexual nature very often.. but I did have a bizarre dream a while ago where Albert Einstein (the character in the movie 'Young Einstein) was a psycho serial killer who killed my brother and a group of his friends with a manual crank camera that was actually a partical vaporiser....

does that count?

Slutty clothes for 5 year olds...
And yes I think little girls wearing knee high boots and heels is pretty disgusting - I'm a mary jane fan all the way haha

Slutty clothes for 5 year olds...
I'm ashamed to recall the sorts of clothes my mum dressed me up in as a kid growing up...some of them were downright shameful hahaha! I think short skirts on little girls are alright if they're wearing tights with 'em..but I see a lot of 10 year olds now wandering around in backless tops and wearing bras and I just think thats a bit over the top..scary when you can't tell the difference between a 12 year old and a 16 year old! I didn't develop an interest in clothes until I was about 16!!

Do you think it's rude to correct another's grammar?
I think its rude if you don't know the person..if its a friend or family its ok to do it in modoration if you're sensitive to how they feel about it. I correct people's grammar if they're friends or family because that sort of stuff really bugs me - the only person I don't do it so much with is my brother-in-law who is maltese because he's grown up with his family speaking all sorts of colloquialisms and sometimes the way someone speaks is just who they are.

Anyone allergic to Titanium?
Hi guys..just interested to know - is there anyone out there who has been banded with the AP band and is allergic to titanium? I'm not sure but I think that I might be allergic to titanium and am scared that if I get the band my body might reject it because there is titanium in the port. I spoke my doctor today about it and he said he would need to check whether it was an issue..he said he didn't think it would be because the titanium is enclosed within the port and shouldn't have any contact with the body..but I just wanted to ask if anyone else can relate?

Intimacy
Hi ghost - I know exactly what you're going though...my man's the same! They don't understand the meaning of 'quality time'. Believe me, its been the cause of many an arguement in my relationship! It is good to sit down with your hubby and explain that sometimes being with each other isn't enough and you would like to feel a little more physical affection day-to-day. I agree with nume - a trip away does wonders for a relationship because there are no distractions from one another. Just because you both have budget restrictions doesn't mean you can't get away for a couple of days - you can go camping, arrange a weekend trip out to the country (do you know anyone who has a holiday house you can borrow for a night or two?). When you're away from all the stresses, a couple of days feels like a lot longer and you'll both appreciate the break and have the chance to really enjoy being around one another! Another thing I like to do is give my boy a back scratch before bed - he LOVES it..but only on the proviso he gives me a massage/back scratch in return..then you're both relaxed and appreciative of each other (perfect instigator for cuddling). Believe it or not, having a shower together's also a great way to have a laugh and get in some physical affection (wash each other's hair, scrub his back etc) Unlike me, my boy's very active and he thinks nothing is sexier than a girl in trackies getting sweaty, washing the dishes or making his dinner so he's quiet happy to sit and cuddle in exchange for being freed from chores..not always how I like it to be but it makes for excellent blackmail hehe

Aussie Bansters Chat Thread Part 2
Hi guys, just wondering if there is anyone out there from Adelaide? I have been looking into banding for 2 years and finally made the decision to go with Dr Anderson.. Had my appointment today and got myself all excited about the prospect of being banded in Nov (latest Dec) because a friend of mine who had hers done a couple of years ago only had a 3 week wait before the surgery. Today I was told that there's a waiting list until February (and that was only if I joined the waiting list now - if I waited until my approval I would have to wait until JUNE)!! I am prepared to wait until Feb if it comes to it, but I am extremely disappointed that I can't do it sooner and can't help but wonder if there are other reputable surgeons in Adelaide who have a shorter wait period - is there anyone from Adelaide who has had surgery recently and can recommend another surgeon that I can look into as a backup? Any ideas of waiting times? With Dr Anderson it takes at least 3 weeks just to get an appointment - my Wakeup appointment is on the 12th of November and then my surgical consultation with Dr Anderson is on the 14th of December.

Unfriendly Friends
I think it is a good thing to discuss how the surgery will affect your relationships with other people because it isn't just you going through changes..the people who are your friends and family will be impacted on the changes and subjected to the emotional rollercoaster too...just because your self confidance will increase does not mean that you would write off your friends - only someone really shallow would do that. I think your friend was out of line saying that you willl become a snob...if smeone said that to me I would have said something too! As you said though MSN does tend to cause arguements because people do speak their mind about things they wouldn't normally say in public... it is also harder to interpret the emotion in text. I think its important you and your friend sit down and nut out what happened... if this is upsetting you both so much it needs to be resolved sooner rather than later!
