mohara62 reacted to jbryant in Pain?!?!
I am 17 days post op and thought I had pulled a muscle on my left side about 5 days ago but the pain isn't getting better in fact it's getting worse.
It doesn't have anything to do with the sutures or surgery I don't think.
Today I woke up from a nap and stood up and thought someone was squeezing and twisting my insides at the spot.
Anyone have any ideas or experienced this?

mohara62 reacted to #9grammy in After reading complications people are going through years later with the SLEEVE... I'm too scared now to do it!
I'm going for the sleeve because my sister has the band and lost weight, had tt and face lift. Today she is back to her pre-band weight, all is lost that she had done.
I don't want that to happen too me. I hear on here all the band to sleeve revisions and by golly I don't want to go through it a second time. I've also been reading on this site and the sleeve is the right way for me to go. I appreciate all the good responses and even the bad. I may not be sleeved till end Oct early Nov but I sure enjoy this site over other sites. Keep it up everyone!

This is my first time posting, however I have been following since right before my surgery. I had a NSV that brought me to tears this 4th of July weekend and thought I would share. To some it may sound silly. I have 3 children 14, 4 and 2. I have been over weight all my life. When my 14 yr old was younger I was never able to take her on rides at carnvials or things like that as I was to big. In fact one time I tried but, had to get off because the lap thing wouldn't go down. Thankfully, she was to young to understand or remember. I of course was embarrassed beyond belief and remember it well.
This weekend we took our kids to the 4th of July carnival and I was able to take my youngest on rides. I was able to sitwith them on the ride and I was able to get in a Trauma one helicopter without being told I was too big.
I still have a ways to go but finally feel like a good mom to all my kids. Thanks for letting me share!

You can do this!!! You going back to the doctor and asking for help is the first step! I'm just starting out, but I know that I'll probably slip sometime down the road, but I have to keep my eye on the prize and remember all the sacrifices involved. Keep the faith, you'll be right back on track. Best of luck to you and God bless

mohara62 got a reaction from BeagleLover in Low blood pressure after Gastric Sleeve
Hi everyone my name is Monika, I had surgery on June 17, 2014. My surgeon was Dr. John Feng, who I might say, is awesome!!! I've been doing okay so far, still have some pain, but weaning myself off of the pain meds. I have to take potassium chloride for 2 weeks which is some nasty stuff to drink. I woke up this morning, unusually tired, had my Protein shake and laid back down after a couple of hours. When I woke up the second time, I felt weak and not like myself. i ended up checking my blood pressure and it was 88/59 which I have not had in years!! I did not drink my potassium last night, because I just couldn't stomach it. I don't know if that had anything to do with my blood pressure and how I feel right now..Anyone else had issues with that? I have a hard time getting all my Protein and liquids in, but I work hard at it. Yesterday I increased my distance of walking and I did okay, but did not want to push it because I started feeling pressure in my abdominal area.I guess my weight is coming off slow and steady, which is fine with me. I'm still having a hard time knowing when I had enough, especially when drinking the shakes. I don't feel hungry at all, I drink my shakes because it's that time not because I feel hungry. I could probably go the whole day without feeling any hunger pangs. I don't know if that is normal.Would love to hear any advice, how any of your journeys are going, any problems since surgery anything at all. Can't have enough support Wishing everyone a wonderful and blessed day.

mohara62 got a reaction from BeagleLover in When does it get easier?
I'm in the same boat, had my surgery a week ago. I find myself wanting certain foods also, but know I can't have them! I don't want to tell my family they have to eat somewhere else, lol! I usually just smell what they're about to have and then have my shake or Soup and I'm okay with it. I just look forward to the day when I get to taste different foods, that helps. My husband cooked a vegetable soup the other day and I took some of it and put it in the blender until it was liquified. I have that for lunch and so far so good. No problems! Wish you all the best on your journey. Hang in there, it can only get better

Stay strong girl! It's tough when everybody celebrates everything with food!!! I know! Just remember that nothing tastes as good as being at a healthy weight feels.
