cheese, nuts, blueberries, boiled eggs and pieces of grilled chicken. All portioned in small baggies. Yeah, I'm gone from my house 12 to 13 hours daily. I'm am expert at this. You can even put a salad in a baggie and it all gets tossed in the trash when you're done!

Great rant! So, just exhale and keep moving forward. And no, it's not because you are obese. How could that be? It's what they do....work with obese people. This journey is a long tough one. There were / are times I wish with all my heart I didn't have to do this to be healthy. But I'm so great full that the opportunity exist. I wish you continued strength on your journey. Good news......it gets so much better!

I'm not trying to be flip here...I was married a long time and understand how wonderful and difficult marriage is, but after reading these posts, I have to say that there's something to be said for being single.

I would just like to share my newest NSV. I wore this dress to my best friends wedding last night. It may not seem like a big deal to some of you but I haven't worn a dress since I was 12. I wore it and I liked it!! I will be adding more to my wardrobe I blocked out the others for privacy. It was pretty exciting for me. At 267lbs I didn't look good in anything form fitting. It was a special night all around. It's the little things that mean so much!

Yeah, don't do it. You're just going to gain weight that you're going to have to turn around and lose. I had a mini food funeral. By the second day I snapped out and had gained three pounds. Two months after my surgery I was depressed and crying because I was at a stall and the weigh wasn't coming off fast enough. See where I'm going with this?

5 1/2 hours!! No, I didn't die and was brought back. I had lots of scar tissue from four previous surgeries. She had to remove all or I guess a lot before she could begin. So, as you can see every situation is different.

Hello, 14 months later and no one knows of my surgery. Alone on the day I did it, and alone on the journey as I lost the weight. You can so do this. Just do it for YOU! Not trying to break up your marriage, but do it for you. ...with or without the support. Best to you.

@pinkbunies. For me jealousy is not a turn on. That person has a problem with himself/ herself and projects on the other person. My X husband was irrationally jealous and we are now divorced. He made my life miserable by accusing me of being involved with everyone; the attendant at the laundromat, the person remodeling the kitchen, the person looking into our car from their car. It's not caring, it's control and insecurity. I would find myself in the middle of a huge argument defending myself about not being involved with these strangers. Crazy! And no, this man never had any reason to believe I was ever, in anyway, unfaithful in our marriage. There was a 12 year age difference and I believe that may of been the basis for a lot of his issues. That and he was cheated on in the previous relationship. Either way it was his issues. I was not flattered in any way. I was sad and angry. Just my two cents.

All what you said is why I leave home with ALL my food for the entire day. Life is crazy and stressful. Sometimes I find myself grazing all day long. I pack my small cooler every morning. Sometimes I eat it all and sometimes I don't, but I'm prepared. Stay focused on you, and stay happy.

That's the reason I have a shake every morning. I want to be able to drink my coffee ASAP!!!

I was pretty bummed out the first 2 weeks because I felt so horrible. I wouldn't say I was depressed because I could rationally recognize that it was a phase that would pass, but when you can't turn to your familiar foods for comfort, you're stuck drinking liquid that tastes bad, and someone put 5 holes in your stomach and then sent you home to fend for yourself...you get a little whiny.

Assuming you are still pre-op? Trust me. Depression is real. You grieve food like you grieve the loss of a friend. You get frustrated that you can't eat how you want / when you want. You wake up thinking "what the heck I have done". Sometimes you still have to cook but can't eat what your family is eating. And likely worst of all, you will read these boards and wonder why on earth you aren't losing like everyone else is. The depression comes and goes sometimes all in one day. I am told it improves over time....
