Yes ma'am!! My libido has increased dramatically since surgery. My hubby is currently loving life cause I'm jumping his bones every chance I get!! Part of it is the hormones being released but a bigger part of it is the weight loss has made me way more confident and I feel so much better about myself!! Not to mention the fact that I am more bend-y now...LOL!!

@@wildflowergirl Just a suggestion--have you thought about appealing? Explain all that and see what they say - the worst they can do is say no again -- but it might be enough, along w/a letter from your doctor, to have them approve -- best of luck!

Ok so I'm roughly 2 months post op and down 35lbs and I feel great. Putting Protein first and everything else last. Exercising any way I can even if I can't make it to the gym I'm doing my part. I feel proud I cannot believe that I am doing as well as I am and turning down the bad habits like I am. The old me is gone and the new one is here to stay. Next thing to work on is my confidence...

So I used to wear 6" heels everyday! I gained too much weight and can't wear them right now. Plus my show size went up a size! Shame because my feet wee already big! ????
I bought these shoes because I love all things America and 4th of July is probably my favorite holiday. I want to be able to wear them next year when my family has their annual block party and our band plays!! (I sing)
Sooooo excited at just the thought!!!

4 weeks out and I don't regret it
I think of myself as a foodie and like to eat out. Originally thought wouldn't go out for the rest of year. Well I was wrong
Been out like 4-5 times. It's all about the choices!
I won't be eating the buffalo wings at BW3 but I will be eating the naked tenders no problem.
I may only enjoy a couple bites of something and not a buffet but that's ok it just makes for better choices for me.
I had ceviche last weekend - well one bite of hubby's and it was octopus. Delish. I enjoyed a really great steamed fish for dinner and he lunch next day. Yay!!

ViciousVixen reacted to staceyp in My first "opportunity" to get back on track!
My surgery was in December 2013 and I am 3 lbs away from losing 100 lbs...approx 35 to 40 pounds from goal weight. I have done really well balancing temptations and incorporating some foods into diet very carefully and cautiously. I just returned from a week long vacation where I allowed myself some freedom. It wasn't mindless but my defenses were definitely down. Overall, it made more good choices than bad but I saw a glimpse into my old habits and I don't like it at all. I could see just how easy it would be to let that spiral into something damaging. The good news is I recognize the pattern. In the past, weight loss attempts have been sabotaged by these types of situations and I am determined to break this NOW. Here is my plan: 1. Get back to involvement in online support groups 2. Had husband remove (hide) scale. No good will come out of weighing right now. If I stayed the same ( or even lost), it will give me "permission" or " justification" to stray again. If I gained, I will be discouraged and beat myself up, fell guilty...and all those things that don't serve me well. 3. Protein and clear fluids only this week...just to get back to true hunger awareness 4. No weigh in until next Sunday - one week from today. Thanks for listening....just needed a place to be accountable and any suggestions or feedback anyone has would be welcomed.

ViciousVixen reacted to McButterpants in 50-60% Excess weight loss in 2 years
When the first doctor I talked to said, "You can expect to lose 60% of your excess weight" I asked how he came up with that number. He said, "Averages". My response was, "I am not giving this an average-type of effort."
I went into this wanting to lose 106 pounds - 256 high weight down to 150 pounds. I'm at 183 and have only lost 7 pounds in the past 2.5 months. I'm discouraged because I've slowed down so much. I'm just shy of 8 months post op.
I can tell you - although I won't be happy with my roughly 70% loss, if I don't lose another pound, my life is better today than it was a year ago. My size is smaller today than at the same weight years ago. I'm more active and a lot of my health problems are gone, my aches and pains are gone.
The numbers are not as important to me right now - I'm working out a lot and doing my best to eat on program. Those are the things I can control. I can't control how my body decides it's going to lose the pounds.. The scale doesn't have the same hold on me as it did early on. I feel fantastic and i think I look pretty good, too! :-)

My surgeon requires an overnight stay as well ... to perform the upper GI X-ray study the next morning to check for leaks. Hopefully if you have any complications they will be realized before they allow you to be discharged! I go in for surgery tomorrow at 7:30am!!!

So yesterday I got my approval for surgery (yay!) and emailed my insurance coordinator back asking " Does this mean my surgery will be kept on the same date I was given during consultation? "
Her answer was yes, It will be kept for September 8th and also its an In and Out procedure.? I wasn't aware it was in and out after the amount of stories I've read on here about hospital stays, walking the halls and yeah.. Is that normal?
I'm a little nervous about it.

    How frustrating!
I am sure you have tried it all, but in case you haven't - low carb and shorter duration, high intensity exercise are the key for me. That is not in the standard portfolio of all nutritionalists, so I thought I would throw it out there. Truth is that it is hard to lose weight once you have been obese. Sleeve helps many of us... alot... but it still took that kind of modification for me, especially as the BMI gets lower.
I lost weight just from eating less at first. Once I got under 200# I stopped losing and would not have gone down to 140# without the low carb. That is just me and my unlucky metabolism.
What would bother me the most is how do you know that being "resleeved" will make things better? Did they find something functionally wrong with your sleeve?
I hope you find your answers - do not give up!

I don't have a full length mirror at home, so I took a couple pics in the bathroom at work before starting my pre-op diet. I realized today that I was wearing the same shirt from that day, so I took a progress pic and was a little amazed and delighted at the difference. No one has commented that I look thinner yet, but this shows me that I am indeed changing. Down 31 pounds total from my highest in Feb, 25 since starting pre-op. Happy!
